Cardboard Camera for Android
Sadly next to useless without a "Share to YouTube VR" function, to publish the photos. It would have been the killer feature (with sound of course). Some guy figured it how to do it manually more than a year ago (Google for "Cardboard camera to YouTube 3D panorama") but it's a too complicated process to actually perform.
Super great! One of the best uses for Google Cardboard. I wish the sharing feature had an anonymous option and that the image selection interface was a little faster (more images, like on iOS), but those are my only complaints! Best thing to show a friend!
Does not open vr photo from main screen, but when in cardboard mode, it does. Magnet does not work here(it does in other apps) sometimes the whole vr view is moving by itself even when holding still. Capturing photo sometimes crashes for no apparent reason. This app needs hell lot of work to polish.
This app is nice to see and hear what you were doing in the past especially when using a VR viewer, but when you use "free up space" on Google photos it gets rid of the photos. You can get them to show up again, but there is no audio. It makes me not want to use it.
In typical Googke style they killed of their perfectly fine functioning Google Camera app to replace it with a dumbed down poorly functioning "new" app. Probably in a few years it will be working properly again with the same features the Google camera app has. Anyway, the stitching works ok, but it messes up with the backgrounds. There are lines in it, or the lighting sucks. Poor replacement app. I will download the latest Google camera version app somewhere...
A great little app to get the flavour of being somewhere. As a request to developers, is there a plan to add a Settings config switch to whether to launch in Cardboard viewer or Daydream (or at a push possibly even GearVR)?
Excuse me. My phone is LG G5 has 2 camera. This app always use panoramic camera (135°) so image quality too low. Please change to main camera. Thank u.
Used 'Google Camera' for years. Kept using it as Cardboard Camera when they changed the name but recently taking your own photosphere including up and down not just horizontally has been pulled. Adding the audio capture is a nice touch but sacrificing full 360 horizontally and vertically is ridiculous. Why pull such an epic function? Dev please respond.
Google already had Photo Spheres in their normal camera app. Those cover also viewing up and down and seem better suited for Cardboard VR than these panoramas. Don't ask me why they made this app and didn't put in their existing, revolutionary, VR-friendly Photo Spheres.
some weird stitching issues if you aren't perfectly stable and level and smoothly moving, but otherwise nice. looks decent in 3D as well.
Good application! He can do perfect panorama, but you need more practice to make real good photo without stitch place.
use this with a 3rd party app call gala360 and view it on samsung gear vr. awesome experience in 3D good alternative until I can buy a $5000 3D camera that does 360
I'm getting a weird high frequency flicker when I click the VR icon inside of the app and sometimes when I close the app it leaves my icons distorted which requires me to restart my phone to fix.
I am using Asus Zenfone Zoom mobile and it has the necessary sensors including the gyro sensor and the built-in camera has the ability to take vr sphere photos. Although I can download this app with my mobile I can't capture photos with this app...
I had no idea what I was expecting going into this app, but it blew me out of the water! The fact that these panoramas are more than just a flat 360 image, but actual reconstructed depth, makes them incredible to view even without a headset. Amazing work Google!
The camera was changed to a recorder and it sucks... can't get a panoramic and it's trying to record sound for some reason
Will not display properly on my S7. Makes a weird mumbo jumbo of colors and nothing else. Useless
This is stupid I cannot record videos and it always says I'm not I'm not slow enough but I'm going as slow as I can my friend and I are trying to make a video for her little sister but we can't because I can't find an app I thought this app was going to be good but I really didn't like how you can't record or do anything with it unless you spin around slowly it makes me cry and we got really mad and started crying that is my
I LOVE IT. Audio is especially nice touch. But needs ability to just save & share files- Don't like at all being stuck sharing with Google account only. Let us own our files!
I prefer cardboard photos in my Daydream than photospheres. But opening the app in DD needs to allow viewing.
This app doesn't work. Don't buy it it's a scam all the positive comments about this are fake
Broken in Nougat. It does not set the correct metadata anymore in Nougat so gallery doesnt know the image is 360 pano.
Not sure what has happened with this app because now the arrows switch direction and the image comes out strange! Google please fix!
Easy and fun. I thought it would be cool if I could do a vr of my room. Perfect app for the job .
My Samsung can take panoramic photos but this app can only vote photos taken with the cardboard camera. It used to be able to view all panoramic photos. Not much use to me now.
Not able to click photos. The app itself crashes.
Stupid thing in this is no option to switch on the flash light
Froze down after the first movement while creating the photo
Very good its like being back on holiday
Anytime I want to open camera,I'm told my phone doesn't meet some minimum requirements.. Why?? I'm using infinix note II
The quality of the photos and videos was not good
Fantastic app. I can't wait until it can do 360 degrees in all axes. Come on Google, I know you can do it!
Here's the deal: If Google is serious about VR, this should be part of their camera app. Not separate.
It says move more slowly even though I'm not moving
Nice But I can't capture pick by front camera
On lg v10 h960a with the latest android 7, the app is fc in spherical mode
Not better than panorama
Its just cliks paneroma images and this feature is already on our mobiles
It doesn't take sphere pictures that can be used for VR.

Good concept, but not as polished as the Android photo spheres. Those are not 3d, but are more than just a panorama (up/down is included). It would be awesome if we could take multiple photo spheres in approximately the same spot, and let the algorithms reconstruct the 3d cardboard view. Especially if it can use existing 360 steradian photo spheres.
