Google Play Music for Android
Everything is amazing, but nothing is more annoying than barely swiping left or right and removing songs from large playlist, and you can't remember what song you removed. If the undo button laster longer than one second it would be much better.
I've been subscribed to GPM for over 3 years now yet I find it gets buggier the older this service gets. Plays one song then pauses about 80% of the time on my Chromecast and car's Bluetooth. Please Google fix this or I'll move to something more reliable.
This app keeps crashing. It worked fine before. Something is wrong now. I own OnePlus 3T. Please fix it asap. I can't listen to one song before it crashes.
Would it be possible to update the companion app for Wear so that it can connect over Bluetooth as well as wifi for those of us who don't have a sim card enabled watch? I've played around with the iHeart radio app and it doesn't require wifi to play online music, it just has to be connected to your phone. I have the Asus Zenwatch 3. I'll definitely add 2 more stars and update my review if you can.
I have been hunting for the best Music Player app for the last 6 months and then I finally got to know about the upload feature in the Play Music. I uploaded my whole library of music and now it is beautiful. I have Android TV and I can play music in that too. No need for plugging a USB into it. Play music is too good. I don't know why it has only 3.9 rating. ????It auto update the missing metadata. ????It shows YouTube videos for the uploaded songs. ????It auto corrects the song if your song is missing the whole length. Best KUDOS to Google....????
There is no match for the Google's art in any kind of field. The app features a damn attractive user interface and provides unmatched quality of Music. But the only thing that is pretty irritating is the adds ! Common team, it's Google Play Music from Google. Being such a great company, I don't think including the adds in Google apps fair at all. I hope the team will fix it the adds free version to provide the users an unmatched and tremendous Music experience.
It came stock on my phone, and has all my music, but I have an issue with it. It doesn't give me an option to boot any of my music over to my external drive, period. I've got 5 gigs of music, on a 16 gig phone. Do the math with it needing maybe 9 gigs for system data, and all the other things that come on the phone, and I'm easily within half a gig of my limit at all times, with a mere 6 extra apps that didn't come stock. I love thr app otherwise
great app.. does what its meant to do. but it would be great if you guys could bring an equaliser icon to the player or make it more accessible because whenever i need to change the equaliser option i have to do a lot of scrolling through the settings tab of the app. and the biggest feature i look forward to is getting the lyrics for each and every song while its being played, that would really make it my fav app.
About a week ago, Google Play Music had a major update and now when I go to my music library it doesn't show any of the music stored on my phone (except for 10 songs I added after the update.) If I view the contents of the Music folder on my SD card I can see all the songs Google Play Music can't find and I can select any of the songs and open it with Google Play Music. But I want all the music that's actually on my phone to show up in my music library so I can play it all on random shuffle. I do not have a subscription and do not intend to get one. I just want to be able to see songs I already own that are already on my phone.
Here's the facts: It's basically the same as all the other streaming services, BUT you actually get some additional features like unlimited song skipping, and you can rearrange the playlist. It's Pandora on crack! Also, the offline music features are really great for road trips or saving data. I find myself constantly chromecasting with this. It's awesome! 1 issue: there's no way to shuffle in Android auto mode. That also goes for voice control during Android auto mode I cannot force it to shuffle a playlist, this seems really strange to me.
Some feedback.... While this app is great, it is lacking a few features. Firstly, within a playlist, there is no option to order by song name, artist name, album, etc, like you can on the desktop version. This is a pretty basic feature on a music app..... In addition, when you add albums to playlists using the app, it stuffs up the ordering of them, unlike on the desktop version. Lastly, it would be great if there was an option to only display google play playlists and not include other playlists on the device. Thanks.
Imagine that you buy $1000 Android smart device and you have a lot of music on your SD card from your previous smart device and you want to listen on your new smart device with Google Play Music. You need to make a few simple and easy steps: Spend another $500-600 or more for computer, Download your music from your smart device to your computer. Install Google play music on your computer, drag your music to google play music and you are all set. Very easy. I've never been so upset since 2010, when I buy iPhone. And I threw it into the trash once I realized that you are so much restricted. And you ask your self "Why I spend so much money? A lot of money." Every single music player in this world have an option to create playlist with the music on your device and play it , except Google Play Music. Please tell me honestly why? Tell me one good reason, really good reason and I will buy a computer to play my music on my Android device with Google Play Music
Great music app seems to have pretty decent sound quality like the voice control handy at home and in the car. Has a few minor bugs gets frozen sometimes and I have to close and restart it. Sometimes I will Loose control of Chromecast audio while casting to it . and while scrolling through songs it's easy to delete songs by accident without really swiping to the side
1) can only skip track on Bluetooth with my VW golf on my new Pixel 2 XL, cannot fast forward or rewind. My Nexus 6 had full functionality on Bluetooth with my car 2) should add folder/storage view as I have over 20gb on music and cannot find tracks with how it sorts things normally. Still needs folder/storage view. Or if I go to storage on my phone. I should be able to add songs to playlist from there. 3) I changed the name of an album and now it's missing and I cannot find or add it back. I have tried clearing cache and refreshing in app
The app is good but why there are no international charts in top charts and why english language option when we try to browse station. Its easy to find regional or Hindi songs but no statons or charts for english and even the new releases are filled with hindi songs n albums mostly with very very few international songs. Why is it so hard to find english songs when they are all available. I would suggest google to create some international stations n add english language in charts and browsing.
Safe, reliable and looks good. The play options are easy enough and has a nice variety of options but, though the music player is fine in general - the player options are somewhat frustrating, especially if you have a particular folder on your device that you want to play from. To organise them in play lists is not only time consuming but awkward to fiddle about with and there is no option to play from just a folder either. Otherwise it's good!
Was 5 star until I tried to assign songs to playlists. The options buttons to assign to playlists is too close to the scroll button. 11 times in 5 min I went from the songs starting with c to songs starting with s. Used my left and right thumb, then a stylus. Same results. Threw phone across room and seriously debating why I have premium family.
All else is great. The one this that's holding me back from 5 stars is there is no lyric settings. I would suggest to add a lyric settings where we can view the lyrics as we play the song both on lock screen and when unlocked. Also if the song file originally doesn't have lyrics, i would be great to have an add lyrics function.
I love google play music. This app is really amazing and I've been a user for the past four years now. It's wonderful to have access to my entire music library wherever I have an internet connection. I also love that the user interface inside the app is very intuitive. The only reason I docked one star is the app keeps disappearing when it updates. It says I need to enable it as a part of my goggle play account. This is very annoying. This has only been happening on my Samsung galaxy 7 edge. When I had other android devices such as a Nexus 5x, this never happened.
Google Play Music is a decent music player. It doesn't have the largest catalog, but it's great for podcasts. Sometimes I wish I didn't have to hit the back button a dozen times to get back to a menu, and OFTEN I wish there was a 'repeat' option! I listen to a lot of ambient music and I wish I could just loop it. But as a podcast player it's great. I used to use another app that has gotten worse and worse with time. But now GPM is pretty much all I use, so I hope it continues to improve.
It is ridiculous that if i buy music from this app i am not allowed to download it without using a 2nd, 3rd party app. If i buy music i wish to own it , amazon music is far better in this regard and i buy all my music from them now due to this. The google play interface is better but i will never buy music from this platform again unless i can actually own the music i buy.
Dear Google, why did you take away out ability to listen to the radio and podcasts and thus by doing so forcing us to subscribe? Are you really not making enough money? Such a shame. Guess I'll have to find other streaming services to get my music now.
Downloads in library crashed. Did everything but uninstall then reinstall. That would erase every download. Not a problem except the album's I purchased would disappear unless i have a computer to back them up. I don't, and they didn't care if I lost the album's I had bought. Definitely a "we don't care, just another meaningless customer" do not subscribe to this app!!! They don't care if you lose money.
It used to be a great app a long time ago. but now, they make it difficult to find your music. They need to stop. just have it so I can play my files simply and cleanly. then they should have a section where u can stream stuff if u so choose. not have it as the main thing.
I love that I could upload my existing library. However, I really want to subscribe to your service but the UI is terrible! And the radios are poorly matched. I get that it gets better with more play time, but your algorithms need a lot of work. If you put more effort into like how Spotify does, I wouldn't need to use them.
Yo Google...why you keep deleting and removing my songs? I like the service but u guys keep randomly removing songs/ albums/ artists etc...NOT COOL!!! I know it's "only" $9.99 a month but I been paying it for a couple years now. Usually when you pay someone for a service you expect a desired result. C'mon Google, DO YOUR DAMN JOB!!!
1. Adding a song to a playlist is such a tedious process. Every time I try selecting the options next to the song the list gets scrolled up or down and this has been an issue from the start. 2. Why can't we have an option of selecting multiple items in one go?
Not a bad idea, but the uploading function for your music library is pretty awful. The app itself on your phone isn't great either and a bit buggy. Shame Google couldn't get this right but I've gone to Spotify now as I won't pay for something which won't work when trialling it. Spotify does this so much better
Google assistant, when I tell you to play a specific song that i own in my library, please don't give me a friggin' radio mix of your choosing. Ive been keeping my personal music organized on Google Play for years, but now they're pushing their subscription service so much that trying to play my own music from it is a pain. To the point where the search bar up top doesn't even show results from my own library anymore. Please, Google, some people still want to listen to their own meticulously kept music playlists and not yours.
It's fine, could be better. That swipe to delete is still incredibly irritating, if there was an update I haven't received it. Wish it had way more filters and sorters and the the equalizer wasn't hidden And that it would stop trying to sell me radio and monthly services, I already but all the music I like from them. But over all it's functional, just wish it was better.
Boom Lawyered Podcast is a flat out 5 stars because these two gals strike, strike often, and don't hesitate to call it like it is. They say what we've all thought but can't or won't actually let it out of our mouths. Sweet Sisters, please keep it up forever!!!
Very disappointed. This app does not work with the Google Assistant with my music library of purchased songs. I can not ask the assistant to select a song or an artist to play from my library without it directing me to purchase a a subscription. The iPhone can easily ask Siri to do this and Alexa can also fetch a song. I love Google products and apps but not this one.
Missing a lot of obvious features. The main one for me, being able to search only your music library rather than the entirety of Play music. Also missing themes. Or even just accent colors. Also being able to select multiple tracks for deleting or moving is missing. Very obvious features. The service is good but the app is definitely lacking.
There is no way the music resumes after ad. The ad goes on never ending just muted. And this is only I think if we dont subscribe. If you are not letting hear without subscription then may be don't allow even one song. Very bad experience
Since the last update I experience non-stop drop outs on my mobile network. Before I never had any streaming issues and there was always heaps of buffer left. Seems like something had changed. Can you guys please fix that
CONS: Songs will skip or repeat when you're casting and choose a different song. Items are buried under lots of scrolling (e.g., the Feeling Lucky radio). Too many options are hidden in the dots menu instead of providing easy links/buttons to manage your user library. PROS: I do like the widgets, which fixed my Lucky radio gripe. Google product integration is GREAT! Not only do we have controls in the notification tray, we have lots of voice control through Google Home. Would love to be your Product Owner, if you need one!
I'm having some trouble. There are times the music will stop without warning and if I pick a song by one artist it will play a song by someone else. For example if I click Michael Jackson's Thriller I will hear A Tribe Called Quest. Anyone else have this problem? How can I fix it? Before all this I loved Google play music.
PLEASE, make an option to stop the "thing" where you can just swipe left or right to remove a music from your playlist. It became really really annoying. I scroll down and accidentally swipe left or right a music (It has way too much sensitivity) so it removes it. Only option I have is to press undo as fast as I can or else I can't know which music I removed cause I wasn't looking directly. Edit: Thank you guys so much for changing it. Much much better now. 5 stars; I encounter nothing more that I don't like about this app.
I would like to have an option to disable the movement of songs when I accidentally move them when scrolling/browsing to not have them out of order and I would like to also have an option to have a night mode to lessen strain on the eyes. As for problems, when playing new music the song will not load. Resetting the phone fixed this temporarily however. Overall this is one of the best apps for music which actually listens to their community. Thank you.

the new version is forcing me to subscribe... without it cannot play any music. also caused bug when my screen is off the music going stuuter al laggi, and that make all music players to do that!! i restored old version, and disabled update... bad google
