Good. Syncs after settings changed to my account for Google instead of Device. Label means Group. Feedback immediately changed and auto closed app to reset. Fixed upon re-opening. Video icon appears as set up once I open the contact. Better so far than factory app. I like how it shows phone type and model inside each contact wow. Just installed and looks like a keeper so far.

This app really has to be glitchy. It works fine with all my old contacts which were imported 2-3 years back to my Google Contacts. But last night when I imported certain contacts to my Google contacts from the iPhone contacts, this app doesn't seem to sync in those contacts which were brought in yesterday. Though I can see them well and good in the Google Contacts webpage, I can't find them here in the app. The Label which denotes the Imported Date is totally missing, thereby causing those contacts to not show up. This is a huge issue and something which is not expected from Google. I have reinstalled the app, resigned to my account to no avail... Can somebody please take a look at this and advise?

App is One big glitch! Worked fine until last update. Now won't sync with my Google account. It's a basic android app on a Google phone running naked android and doesn't sync with a Google account. Only works if I uninstall last update. Hmmmm. STOP FORCE UPDATING TO THIS IF YOU CANT GET THE SIMPLEST THINGS RIGHT!!! (6P running Oreo 8.1)

Now read only contacts from apps like WhatsApp, duo aren't merged with actual contact, creating a serious mess. Note I have same contact 5 times. This bugs especially in the dialer app as in contacts main view only shows google contacts. My case: there are spaces in contact numbers like +91 99999 11111, when I edit a contact and remove those spaces contacts are automatically combined. Hope this will be fixed

This app is very good with user-friendly interface. Need improvement, -Need stability while searching contact now its stuck during search -Contact setting should have call end option with lock screen button -now cannot clear single person call history in one shot. Need such a option available

Very slow, we can access faster in chrome itself. Better if Google provide an app with minimum cache. Any selected contact details required internet connection but it's very slow in showing details. Apart from this Google rocks as always ????????

Hi Google team, it's not working properly, taking too long time to dial any contact number, my Mi A1 getting hanged. Please take necessary action to get it rectify it at the earliest :(

Can I get a dark theme here? My screen is dark for everything except this app and it is so damn bright it's like looking into the face of God and then spots. Think about it guys and I'll throw in the missing stars.

I like this contacts app it's easy to navigate and use. Look of it is nice but some more contact colors could be added. Duplicate contacts are still a issue and sometimes garbage contacts show up even after I've deleted them. Why does it only show contacts that have phone #s meaning contacts that only have a E-mail address don't show up in list. With some fixes this could be a 5 star app. Currently I'm using my S8's stock contacts app since it helps cut down on # of apps installed.

The app lags a lot. When dialing to a saved contact, the app should show suggested contacts as we start dialing few initial numbers. However, the app fails drastically. Other contact apps work well and better than google contacts app. What is the use of trusting google then.

Why does Google have a separate Android contact db than the Google contact db? Maddening. I thought this would sync the two but I just get sync errors, despite being on a good Wi-Fi connection. When I create a contact on my phone it should end up immediately in my Google account, no exceptions.

It's pretty good contacts app, but it's a little bland. Granted, you don't need a whole lot of customization in a contacts app. It runs smooth and I have nothing to complain about besides design inconsistencies. For example this app uses a hamburger menu while Google's phone and messaging app use a 3 dot menu button. Plus the app hasn't updated to support the inverted in Android 8.1

Love the app, but unfortunately it doesn't replace the Google Contacts app preinstalled on my device, so now I have to contacts apps. I don't understand why this is the case, but I find it frustrating

It has few features compared to others but I do like the design. I tried many others but they end being bloated, slow or buggy.

This app is woefully lacking in features - disappointing, considering this is a native Google application. This app does not allow you to search the notes field of your contacts the way that you can online. It also does not allow you to view your contact groups or edit them in any way. This makes it essentially useless for power users.

The favorites doesn't work on my phone if I click the contract tires nothing happens. The app is nearly identical to the default one on my phone but it had a cuter you and color palette plus the extra function and spying from Google

Lot of bugs in this app. 1. Contacts saved is missing randomly. 2. A single contact having multiple numbers shows as many contacts. 3. The suggestion asked me to merge the duplicate contacts. I did that. Almost 750 contacts merged incorrectly with other contacts. Now I am unable to restore the previous version of my contact list ???? 4. A same contact showing as different individual contact for phone, WhatsApp, Paytm etc. 5. Finally didn't expect an app from Google. I am rating this app as 1 & not sure whether this will get reflected & published.

One humble request to developer. Plz remove colour from contacts. It does not look professional. Also while calling or searching contacts only one contact card should be shown instead of multiple contact card for same person.

Finally fixed the call blocking function. You don't have to commit a number to your memory, manually enter it into blocked list, and save anymore.

It is not able to find a contact by entering some digits of phone number like last 4 digits. Number must be exactly the same like +33 (22)... Shame

The contact list view is very confusing. You can have same name with different persons. Should be better if you show company or address in less size below the contact name. Stability is great although.

Why, why, you want to force this to be used, the opening interface is so sadly made.. its nit that you guys don't have the resources to come up with a better interface but no, and now made this as the default application

Can't assign a custom text message notification sound to individual contacts to identify them by incoming sound. Apparently, this is a former feature that has been removed. As someone coming from iOS, this is a feature that is sorely missed.

Worst app by Google. App doesn't get sync properly, irritating app. Used browser and managed contacts within few seconds. There is no use of this app.

I like the is app too much then others phone apps . But problem whenever we are in call mute button automatically tapped by my thumb. And call go on mute mode.. also search contact and number option should be in down side for fast access

Most biggest drawback of Google till now. While Changing cellphones it creates duplicate contacts and there is no solution to it till now.

Was great but phone update now caused Contacts Logo to appear on contact shortcut. Blocks view of contact photo. Stupid

App won't dial anymore when touch the phone symbol next to name. Just says no app exists to do this. Used to work, not anymore.

The contact merged only on phone. Not on Gmail contact account so... The solution is here. Please follow below steps. Kindly turn off sync with Google account contact in mobile. Then Backup/Export as .VCF file of your contact from Google contact then delete all contents from device as well as Gmail contacts. Once Gmail and Phone contact will be deleted. Then import the .VCF file into Gmail contacts. Then turn On sync on your phone. It may be work perfectly. This may take time but surely work good after doing this.????

Came here to ask for calendar integration but found that my device simply had an outdated stock Contacts app (Moto Z Play Droid). Nice!

Why did you do away with using your own palette API from the 2.2 updates forward? It's YOUR friggin' API! YOU DESIGNED IT! USE IT! Seriously, bring it back. Full width pictures were a welcome return, but there was NO reason to stop using palette for contact colors. You guys are brilliant developers, so I don't understand how you manage to do such dumb shyte sometimes.

Upgraded to the latest, now the app keeps hiding my contacts. Changes to an empty contacts list. Hopeless.

The UI is one of the worst. It's horrendously ugly and unnecessarily colourful. Sort of like the default messaging app of Android which is equally bad.

Almost 50% contact saved on Gmail account is not seen in this app. Back up team is unable to understand the situation and provide solution. It will be better not to purchase this pixcel p2 phone

I'm am just shocked that Google does not have a way to add a contact by taking a picture of a business card. I use another app for this currently but this just seems like to good of an opportunity since Google has been focusing on the Pixel 2's camera and their AI with Google Assistant and Google home. Samsung has a business card reader built in to their contact app but I hate using the Galaxy and Note phones (and I have had several) because of all the clutter they have with different apps and stores and settings. Google please force me to give a five star rating to this contacts app by adding this one feature that I feel you can do better than any other company!

Almost the exact same thing as the contact app that came with my phone. The one really great difference...this one allows me to permanently delete Verizon's pre-installed numbers!!! Thank you sooooo much!!!

My contacts are disappearing and they have few photos now only numbers so I don't know who is who...my own message+ contact info was wiped out today! This is so frustrating and time consuming I'm thinking of returning my pixel 2xl!!

I wish android would allow the option of switching to this app as the default contacts/messaging app so that android devices would be capable of opting to use all of the google apps such as this one, and Google messages, Allo, Hangouts, Google voice, etc., Via WiFi in place of the current boundaries set in place by the native android apps. We should be free of the restraints of carrier services which prevent our devices from being able to function independently (like on wifi using apps of our choice- in my case, my preference for using Google's apps) without having to serve the terms of wireless carrier service plans. I for one cannot always afford month to month services provided by carriers like metro, boost, Verizon, virgin, att, etc., And I would like to be able to set Google's apps to default and operate entirely by wifi rather than having to sign up for monthly, anual, or prepaid plans. I'm tired of being controlled and being forced to pay money for simple features that should be free. Thank you Google, take control
