Can't listen while the screen is locked. That's horrible for a music app, that's not a feature you should have to pay for.

It's Good, but the only way to remove a song from your playlist is to dislike it

The offline music is very frustrating. I'll go through and save 100 songs offline and come back the next day and the app automatically unsaved 20 other them. It deletes songs that I listen too a lot and saves songs I didn't want and always skip but somehow those ones always seem to linger, even after I've down voted them.

Needs work. Pro: I like the music selections and finding what I like to hear. Con: shuts off the moment you leave the app. If the free version is going to be that much of a let down. Would prefer Google music or a 3rd party app that can allow YTmusic, spotify, Sound cloud, fm and so forth play the free apps all In one. Other wise I would get rid of it.

Big side note, since these reviews don't seem to get it. The $10 a month is YouTube Red. Not YT Music. It's all included. Now grab a tissue, wipe those tears and get you some ad free YouTube. Love this app. Cancelled my 2 year Spotify sub and never looked back. But please, for the love of God, move the thumbs down button. When trying to drag the playback I hit it far too much, then have to hit undo. I also have small hands so I know it has to be an issue for many others. Keep up the good work tho.

Its advertised on youtube as just another youtube but you can listen to all your music downloaded offline for free. This is just like looking at a really well dressed trap and both have hidden surprises. Yt red is just a money hungry scam

Loved it at first. Like it now. It has a LOT of content that other services does not. I've found more new music in the last few months than the past few years combined. But it gets repetitive, the suggestions for new music are way off, and it inexplicably continues to play music I've down voted. There should be a BLOCK ARTIST option so I never have to hear another Slug, Atmosphere, or Bebe Rexha song again. I liked one song and YTRed thinks it's my new favorite band no matter how much I downvote. And I've liked a dozen songs from other bands and they barely get played. The mixtape interface is confusing and lacks enough diversity. It's good, but needs some work to be great. There's potential and I hope they work towards a more user friendly and intuitive experience.

Terrible. Can't play music without having the app on full screen. YouTube is just innovative at scam. I unsubscribed from YouTube red before the trial period ended and they still charged me AND cancelled the service on me. And there's no way to contact them about this.

It plays music, which is good. The main issue I have is that it is WAY too easy to mistakenly press the Thumb-down instead of the video-track. If you want to rewind or fast-forward, there is a good chance you will skip the song by mistake.

Definitely feel as though this should have background play. At least when the screen is off.. absolutely pointless without youtube red, app sucks without the subscription. Basically a different youtube platform for just music, that is alright, could be greatly improved..... Uninstall hahaha

I used to like this app a lot. But for some reason now its horrible. My likes and dislikes dont get counted and I find myself liking and disliking the same song multiple times. Many videos I put in a playlist say unavailable the next day. This is starting to be not worth the payment.

It's pretty great, but I would like to see an option for official music videos only. I hate those fan-made lyric videos that always come up and there doesn't seem to be a way to filter them out.

I hate that you have to pay just so that when you trial is over your not able to turn off your phone while you have the wifi on. I mean its good and all but... I cant pay that much money because im saving it for something else.

Sort of a pointless app, however the ui is beautiful. Would be great to have a similar ui in Google Play Music. Also, full screen mode doesn't work correctly on my phone. I have a huge dark area right of the video.

Pretty much everything works fine, but a crippling issue that still persists is the crappy shuffle feature that plays the exact same songs every time. For instance I've liked the all releases album from NoCopyrightSounds which has over 300 songs, yet I still hear the same ones over and over again.

I pay for red and love it but this app is no good. I have multiple playlist that I listen to and this app doesn't have all the music on it. Thought some videos got removed so I went over to the regular app and they where still there.

How the hell are you you going to advertise and say "leave the app, not the music" and when i download the app tell me i need to pay 10 dollars a month to be able to that? Either give me the app that promises what you advertise or just make a subscription service for the original YouTube app, because in the lomg run, i just downloaded youtune twice, and its stupid

If not paying $10/month this app is not much better than searching for one song and fifty advertisements. It used to be a great app before all the advertising and paid subscription to leave the app and still have music. Would be much better off getting spotify premium or even pandora for less ads and an actual music player.

The lack of an option to turn off videos in a music app without paying for it is absolutely ridiculous. I've enjoyed this app till it used 4GB of my data in one short trip cause I fell asleep with it on. 95% of that is from streaming video, not the audio. Google makes a ton on add revenue just on that app and they have to make it burn our data too? I'm done with YouTube music

Its great definitely worth paying for YouTube Red with it. One thing that would be great is if you could add a feature that alows you to remove or automatically skip a song in the endless playlist

It's like YouTube, but worse. The one thing people have been begging YouTube to do is continue to play audio in the background, so I figured that's what this would do. Nope, it's just YouTube, for music, that you have to keep the screen on to listen to. Or you can pay money for a thing that tons of other music apps do for free. Completely worthless.

This app is not compatible with your device. Apparently tablet owners including those of us who have Pixel C devices don't get to join in on the fun. Otherwise the service is excellent.

It's basically the YouTube app and the Google play music app combined. Waste of MB and it's worse cuz you can't minimize the app or turn off your screen and have it kept playing like you can in Google play music app.

Offline isn't really offline. Even if I have songs downloaded, the moment my phone loses a connection, the music stops playing and there's nothing I can do to prevent that.

Its ok but the problem is you have to pay to hear the music any where that. Is just stealing peoples money i mean its not fair what if some one doesn't have that much money to hear the misic any where it's not fair.

I loved it at first for like over 6 months .. but now it wont stream correctly always loading instead of playing next track ... to my chromecast ..which is the only reason i use it most of the time and if im streaming music to my chromecast and surfing web i cant watch a youtube video clip on my phone without it shutting off saying i cant use both accounts .. i pay over 10 a month for my service.. it needs to work right and i should be able to listen to music and watch the latest hurricane clip on google at the same time ..I def can use both services at same time whenever i want wth. Also i want music apps history and search history to be seperate from youtube app history and search ..that suxxx that they combine!!

I do not want this service, the lite grey print used in the rules/regulations is too lite for me to read and I'm not using any service from now on until I can get print dark enough for me to read.

When you edit your playlists on YouTube, the YouTube Music app doesn't update to the edited playlist as fast /: Also add a play next feature

Youtube for music. You can't do anything you normally couldn't do on youtube except it recommends songs. You still need Red to use background play. The only difference is you can't view normal youtube videos.

Not what has been promised. Better to make a subscription for the Youtube app as this one requires 10 USD and does the same with limited music you can otherwise find on yhe other app.

Would give app 5 stars but the app keeps pausing in the middle of playing songs, my entire like list has disappeared. I've updated and cleared the cache, uninstalled and reinstalled. My offline list disappeared as well.

Holding my convenience hostage by making me pay to listen with the screen off. No thanks, going back to better apps

It stops playing music while I'm listening to it or it just don't work at all anymore. I don't think I should have to pay for something I'm not getting.

I have to have the app up otherwise music stops playing. I obviously want to do other things while listening. 1 star til I can change this.

Says you can play music with screen sleeping. Our research found that to be untrue. Same as normal YouTube app then.
