About Google Maps Floor Plan Marker
With the Google Maps Floor Plan Marker you can help Google Maps more accurately locate users who are visiting your store, restaurant, venue, or any type of public indoor space that you’re in. You’ll walk around your building to collect publicly broadcast data, and once it’s uploaded and processed, users of Google Maps for Android will be able to see their location (“the familiar blue dot”) in that space when they’re inside. Use the standard version to collect data for smaller venues that do not have a floor plan. Use the advanced version for larger venues where you’ve also uploaded a floor plan at https://maps.google.com/help/maps/floorplans/. Likely to be of interest mostly to map enthusiasts and venue owners.

I was very intrigued by the premise of this app, but after trying it out, I'm feeling like it might be half-baked. The instructions are not quite clear enough about what "walking around" entails, and after I completed the indoor and outdoor walks and uploaded them, then what happened? I don't know.

Hi. Spent a few hours walk the floor plan I uploaded. After walking the area I uploaded the walk and it appeared to work but when I go back to the app it says I haven't completed the walk! Took me ages to walk it and don't want to have to walk it again! Please help!

For what it does its ok, but really needs to draw its own floor plans with photos ideally or manually with your finger. Its only useful if you already have a floor plan.

This app has not been updated in almost exactly three years, as of when I write this, and it's badly in need of an update. The Advanced Map Marker cannot connect to its server, so you can't use this to actually update or improve your uploaded maps. Actually, the entire Indoor Maps idea appears to have been abandoned, not just this app, which is a shame.
