Google News & Weather

Love the AMP articles. They load very quick and the format of the app is very easy to navigate for stories. It would be nice if you could set it to only show articles from sources that don't require a subscription. So often, many articles are unavailable without them or they trick you into thinking you will be able to read them just to find partially through, a add popping up calling for a subscription to read more.

Used to be pretty good but since a couple of days my personal topics disappeared without warning. Can't get anything else then the standard anymore. Even the weather report is gone. Major glitch. Please fix this asap!

Thank You for enabling browsers other than Chrome by using a long press on a story. Please add this option to all stories, not just the "Headlines". This should more obvious to the user. But why not let me choose my browser in the settings? Hate the way you can't remove the "Top Stories". Hey Google your top stories are not my top stories!

we don't need the app to ask if we want to show the most up-to-date weather. we always want to see the most up-to-date weather. and can we get an option to auto-update the widget because i'm tired of seeing 3 and 4-day-old headlines because i haven't opened the app lately

It's a decent app for getting news, but lately all I've seen is negative Trump coverage. I don't even like the guy that much. It's not so much the apps fault but the news outlets, but if they added an easy blacklist function for certain sites it wouldn't be an issue. Adding a list of blacklisted subjects would be great too. It's always good to stay open to other opinions but I don't want to get caught in the internet hate machine.

Gets worse with every update. I understand you used to be able to personalize news sources. If so, not anymore​. I do not want to see Washington Post articles at all and they are everywhere. Uninstalling updates does not add the feature back. About to abandon the app in favor of another.

A bunch of anti national agendas in one place ! This app is a mere pathetic news accumulater from mostly feom infamous anti india squads. More than half of the headlines are just person opinions/articles from 4th division unknown writers with a 5th grader english. Better call this app as 'Blog' rather than news....uninstalling !

The new headline carousel is really annoying and doesn't let you quickly scroll through to see the news. I wish Google wouldn't keep forcing unwanted changes on us without giving options to choose

This app was good an well balanced...what happened. The guardian and the mirror along with other left wing mouthpieces dominate. I kept it for diversity of opinion. It's good for local news especially, but this is garbage, it's become very one sided.

I'm updating my review because they finally fixed my pet peeve: control over news updates! Now if they would just fix my ability to filter out sources and pay sites. What good is listing a headline I can't read because I'm not subscribed?

Considering Google's vast expertise in search algorithms this is frustrating & ultimately disappointing. I don't want a canned list of publishers, I want machine learning to find & refine the content *I AM* interested in from all over the web. Zite did this wonderfully but was promptly bought up & killed off by big money. All hail the corptocracy..

Fake news sometimes infiltrates, without a way to report it. And no setting to have my default browser open all articles by default? I don't want to use Chrome technology that tracks me No wonder the EU is suing Google for antitrust violations.

The app is great when it works. It often needs updates or won't add a city for weather, or closes unexpectedly with a pop up saying it has stopped working.

The widgets are completely broken. Instead of showing the weather and news it is completely blank. It's been this way for a while. Thought I'd reinstall to see if it's fixed, but nope. I mainly want this for the weather widget but it's useless.

I don't have much data allowance and i get adds and video adds, also it keeps crashing, if video adds carry on then i will delete this app. I also get an add from google saying i have won an iphone and tells me what phone i have, it doesn't go away unless I close the app.

This a VERY LIBERAL website. Was hoping for stories from Fox News but instead all I got was every liberal media outlet. If I wanted to listen to those lies I would turn on cnn, but I have better taste than that. If you are going to be a trustworthy news source then you must include ALL MEDIA outlets, not just the liberal stories.

I should be able to control what shows in the feed. For example, I don't consider an "opinion piece" to be news, and I don't want anything from publications with an outward political bias like The National Review or The Atlantic either. This is why so many of us are so ill-informed. This should be better Google.

Used to love this app. Great collection of news sources and topics. Unfortunately, now it stops and restarts every few minutes when I'm trying to read a story. Time to remove it. Too bad.

Very basic app and looks primitive. Just look at News app on iPhone and you'll see what this is missing. C'mon Google you can do lot better than this. Good content but it needs to be displayed more intuitively in an appealing way

Best weather interface I've used - should be its own app! News sections are varied but crippled by lack of customisation options & UX issues (e.g., no option to open in external browser - WebView is terrible compared to Chrome). Headlines carousel provides bad UX, vertical scroll is more useable.

I'm unable to delete a location. I don't even know where the place is, so I don't care about their news! I've added my real location but the wrong one is still the default with no way to change it!

Too biased, I don't care if there are balanced views, but there aren't. Added BBC, Fox and Reuters sections, but can't delete Headline section that is mostly Washington Pist and Huffington-o-crap. Where have all the honest journalists gone???

All I get are notifications of the typical left leaning articles. It's the same stories I can find a hundred other places. If you're looking to stumble upon something worthwhile this isn't the app. Not worth the space on my phone.

It certainly pulls in a lot of news from different sources. However it doesn't give an option for users of the web version to see their customised feeds, nor does it give the option to hide "news" sources, e.g. some of the less reputable tabloids or extreme left or right wing websites

Not a trusted news source. Read an article listed in the headlines, three stories below it was an article stating it was proven to be fake news two days later fake news article was still in the "headlines". Thanks for misinforming the populace.

Until recently this app used to work​well but recently I haven't been able to add weather locations manually or add topics. Every time I attempt this nothing happens and all my topics and weather locations have been removed. Only the defaults remain. Very annoying as th​s app used to work well.

The app works fine, but headlines routinely include ultra-left oriented op-ed pices that aren't even actual news. Leave it to Google to push a social agenda via Android. Weak.

The inability to edit news sources is a deal breaker for me. Half of stories were from Daily Mail and I would want nothing to do with that rag. They are also deemed to be that unreliable a news source they are banned from being used as a citation on Wikipedia these days

Would be nice if settings were able to exclude particular sources requiring sign up and pay. Also, why does it crash only when reading a story about iPhone 8?

Used to be great, but now it's almost unusable at it force closes very frequently in the middle of reading am article, and upon reopening, it goes back home, so continuing to read is impossible. Please fix it, google, you can do better!

Terrible selection of news sources. Waste of time to only read one side of issues. High reliance on discredited sources.

Broken, won't update. Added some sections and now it won't update, saying there are too many sections and to remove some. Keep removing sections but never works. Force closed but still doesn't work. Great concept, and I've used it for years, but one thing to note is that the articles are very heavily biased to the liberal point of view. Political story? 90% of the time it will be the anti Trump Washington Post. The rest of the time it will be NYT or similar. Fox News will appear for a health article... maybe. I'll switch as soon as I find a decent alternative.

The app shows mostly news from liberal news sources like Washington Post, CNN, NY Times without the ability to choose or block news sources. It also shows news from two weeks ago instead of news that is happening yesterday or today. You can get news that is more current on Twitter.

You guys are real slow in updating news. Some headlines can be there for 4 to 5 days. And you must be employing loads of Filipino staff who seem mire interested in headlining Philippines news rather than other news from the same region.

Garbage... Full of ads, some of which make you feel very targeted. Google makes billions of dollars a year, they are not a small-time developer. So why in the hell would they need to support this kind of add structure? It's ridiculous. Plus the app claims to not have ads?

This news app often pushes click bait garbage to the top of the feed. The more you use it, the worse it gets, as it learns what you are more likely to click. There is no way to block bad sources from inside the app or to increase the reading level of the articles.

If I wanted to read only the Washington Post I would just go to the website. But I won't because I don't like the Washington Post. The news app headlines are majority WP. You can tell the feed is biased. Will reinstall if they make the app fair to all reader's. Don't see that happening.

It would be a good news app, if it didn't crash so often. Every few days, after one or two stories, it just shuts down mid-article. And then keeps doing it. If I can't actually read the articles, nothing else is useful

Will not show weather on widget unless you let app access location, even after manually adding my location via zip code. I don't need Google to constantly track me in order provide the weather. Uninstalling now.

Never thought I would like this but its become quite a handy & quick option to get news from several sources in & out of India, at least. Main bug: Doesn't automatically open browser link of several news sources like it used to which is a bit annoying hence a star less .. needs to be manually long tap-pressed in order to seek option to open above. Otherwise its good. Suggest anyone to try/test it out once.
