Xternal Display for Droid X

I love this. It displays what's on your phone to the tv. Does its job very well. There's only 2 things I can say bad about it and thats the phone doesn't display horizontally sometimes so on your tv you see the home screen sideways lol. Also, you can't see the phones screen while you use it. Not really a problem but makes it hard to text lol. I highly recommend it if you have a DROID x.

Exactly like the dev said, it works but freezes the screen. All you people giving it 3 starts because it freezes the phone screen... Seriously? Learn to read.

Works great just like it should. But it seems like hulu caught on, or at least has a block on it now :/ & thats all that I watch any more.

I was scared becasue when I read the reviews everyone was saying HBOGO doesn't work with the app. I tried it out and watched full episodes off of HBOGO on my TV so I don't know what everyone else was doing wrong. Works great!

I was able to launch Netflix on my Droid X running 2.2.1 and Xternal Display worked fine. But when I started a video Xternal Display just shut down when the video started playing.

It pushes video as stated. The video is far from 720p. It looks like video from an Atari. It runs smoothly. Just looks like crap. Heavily pixilated!

I got this app for my droidx and it works flawlessly! I can now stream netflix or play angry birds in HD on the big screen!

Great app. Only downside is device display only works on tv and not device when in use but if you put icons on easy place navigation isn't too bad.

Watched Weeds from netflix past weekend - this app saved the day! :) how to stop it though when done watching?

Hdmi port has burned out. Will not recognize. Any one else having this problem?

If ignorant people would just read app details they would know the frozen screen is a DroidX hardware issue and the app developers' hands are tied.

People complaining about the dx screen. That's a Motorola hardware problem not this app. Dx can't do duel screens

It was working flawlessly a few weeks ago, but now it blips in and out constantly. Might be my cable, but it hasn't done this before.

fix the sideways home screen and its 5* fix the screen refresh and its a paid app. it doesnt like flash

Allows me to watch all content on HDMI without restriction! Developer should be applauded for producing a free, ad free app that is one of the most useful for the droid x. Thank you!

Works just as advertised. Wish there was a way to refresh both screens but I'll take it for what it can do. Excellent

Don't known what the other Peoples problem is, but this works excellent on my DROIDX I can watch virtually anything I want with no problem! Great job, does not freeze phone home screen at all !!!

This app is exactly what I was looking for... and it's free. It's nothing fancy, but then again I don't want fancy, I want something that works. Thank you for making a simple solution to the DroidX problem! P.S. - I use this with a Bluetooth mouse and it's excellent

Will half work for droid x2, practically same phone so why does it look fuzzy and not work?

Doesn't work with Ice Cream Sandwich.

I downloaded this app on my Droid Moto Razr specifically to watch nfl network on HDTV and so far it seems to work. I was able to watch NFL REDZONE sunday and various programming shown on NFL network. So it seems to work on MOTO DROID RAZR

Just wish it would go to a black screen before it switches to hdmi to prevent burn in. oh well, it does what it said it does perfectly

Wonderful app. If only I had this sooner. Works beautifully. Only downside id like to see fixed is when connected to the normal home screen its displayed sideways but that's not much of a big deal

Doesn't work at all. As soon as I hit play it stops showing on the TV and goes back to the phone display.

It is a great app for free but should have better features such as navigate to what you want and set the phone face down and it auto switches to hdmi.

App Works Great but i tried to play netflix with it i got video but no Sound not sure why.

I have a couple tv apps that normally do not allow HDMI out and this does it. With a lil eye hand coordination you can display anything!

Seems the NFL mobile app blocks live streaming if it detects an hdmi cable. 5 stars if this app can get around this detection

Works as advertised. Tiny, fast app. Can't believe this is free. Author acknowledges he is only dumping the raw video signal, so the experience is not polished. App would get 5 stars if there was some sort of finger position feedback on the monitor.

Usually works good some times a pain to get going hbo go won't work and cinemaxgo probably won't either but thats their thing blocking hdmi use

I'll give this app 5 stars because it does what it advertises - enables HDMI for most things. HOWEVER - don't expect the full HD experience from your phone. The whole purpose of my wanting to enable HDMI-out was to get better video quality on Netflix. I currently stream Netflix on my Wii, connected to my TV via composite video cable. (For those who don't know, a composite connection is the worst possible connection you can use on a TV... it does not even allow 640x480 standard def, let alone 720p or 1080p) The video quality via Wii/Composite is much better than the video quality via Droid-X/HDMI. The Droid introduces far too many mpeg artifacts in the video for it to look really good. The video quality isn't much better when you play video files via the gallery using the Droid's built-in HDMI software, so I'm guessing this is a hardware limitation. The point is, don't expect a home theater in your pocket. It is, however, useful for when you have a cheap HDMI cable and want to present something to a large number of people.

I would love to check this app out but cannot get it to download. Fails every time with an error saying "Missing Shared Library". Don't know if it is something since the new IceCream Sandwich update. frustrated.

We need to have setting controls and it would be easier if we could use the screen instead of it freezing up

Couldn't figure out how to turn it on at first.went into Netflix then it started working. Freezes the screen on your phone but fun to work

Im so glad I tried this app first because I was looking at buying the real hdmi one $$$... thanks for a free app that does exactly as stated..
