About Kelvin Myers Makeup Artist
Kelvin Myers is an accomplished international and creative makeup artist whose experience and talent transcends beyond mere dreams and becomes reality.
Growing up in Sumter, SC Kelvin’s mother was a licensed cosmetologist who had dreams of her own to be a fashion designer and in an effort to promote her business, the family would often put on fashion shows around town; Mrs. Myers had no idea but she was fueling her son’s passion for the creative arts. After relocating to Atlanta, Kelvin began attending DeVry University where he became good friends with someone who was a female impersonator, soon after he began attending shows and pageants that went above and beyond the ordinary. These pageants showcased amazing creativity and were often things that Kelvin often envisioned in his head.
After a brief career as a Transmission Engineer in the telecommunications field, Kelvin would find himself reminiscing about his days growing up in Sumter, where on Sunday afternoons he would race home to watch the SFM Holiday Network where there was always a theatrical production being shown. His love and fascination of theatrical productions never died and before he knew it makeup artistry had become a full time career.
With a professional background with companies such as Paula Dorf- Regional Makeup-artist/Trainer, Bobbi Brown – Resident Make-up Artist/Product Specialist, M.A.C -Product Specialist/Artist certified for beauty, editorial, fashion, and TV/media and Smashbox – Area Artistry Trainer, a nomination for Best Make-up Artist by the Atlanta Fashion Community came as no surprise.
Kelvin’s work has been showcased in such magazines as Jezebel, Upscale, Exquisite Brides and Weddings, Senses, Black Hair and Sophisticate’s Black Hair and Care Guide. He was also the key makeup artist for the 2008 Bronner Brothers Barber Battle: Barber in Wonderland production and the producer, coordinator and key makeup artist of “Cirque” the stage show that won the Hair Battle Royale in February and August 2009.
Kelvin’s list of accomplishments include working with , news anchors Karen Grier and Monica Kauffman-Pearson, recording artists Ludacris, Joi, Jazzy Pha, Shorty Lo and Kandi Burruss formerly of Xscape and current co-star of The Real Housewives of Atlanta on which he had a guest appearance. He is also currently working with Walt Disney’s live production of The Lion King (Gazelle Tour).
This future philanthropist is also working to make a difference in the community. He volunteers with the Hopewell Baptist Church Ministry “Pamper for Peace” which believes in uplifting and self esteem building of victims of domestic violence and recovering drug addicts.
