GoCatch: Taxi & Rideshare for Android
Used this for the first time in Melbourne this weekend. Driver turned up in what looked like a personal car, however he had his taxi ID on the dashboard. He acted and drove just like Melbourne's normal taxi drivers (not a compliment). Vehicle stank of cigarettes, I am a smoker myself, if it was bad for me I'd hate to think what a non smoker would have thought. And no way to report or rate the driver. Will not use app again.
Waited 40 mins for my driver at Sydney Airport, instead of the 12 mins advised. There is only one allowed pick up zone at Sydney Domestic Airport for ride shares. He called me three times to ask where I was. The all also "could not locate" my driver the entire time, but don't worry, he's on the way. Terrifying. Just pay the extra for Uber.
Pointless paid the same price if not more then just ordering a cab
Fantastic app I think it cheap as others everyone should use it
Please tell me how to check estimate fare.. No details given before booking
Might just be better than Uber
A great app
Works well (definitely better than the taxi industry apps when booking taxis), and a good alternative to uber who are now taking 20- 25% of their driver’s commission. Not many rides around my part of town but hopefully will improve as more drivers get on board.
App sent me a Taxi Van instead of Taxi, and ended up paying for more fees on top of the metered fare, which the driver had already topped up with his fees. Regretted using the service bearing that an early comparison showed lower fees than what I actually paid in the end. Verdict: I'm sticking with UBER; tried, tested and delivers.
Great app and service however Gocatch need more advertising at locations such as bus stops and internet adverts to increase public awareness, theres only around 2 cars per day in my area...advertising is going to cost alot but in the long term its critical
Confusing. Wasted 45 on a taxi due to the apps confusing nature. Never again
Tried, booking works, but app cant be opened anymore while arrived, stuck at the loading blank page, so you are forced to pay with cash, hate it
Driver first accepted PayPal then canceled the payment. Then called the police stating I was refusing to pay. Told let me get my credit card from my apartment he refused. Using uber from now on. At least the payment side is simple.
Same change log for the last few updates. And this app doesn't want to start on my Nexus 6P. I just get the circle loading icon endlessly.
even with the latest update android pay doesn't work. at the airport, constant errors trying to book.
Download and set up was easy. Got my first rideshare with no hassles.
When someone comes it is good but too often it searches for a few minutes then tells me no one is coming and to try other apps. Well back to uber for me.
Good to have some competition to the other mob who don't pay any corporate tax in Australia. Friendly support team as well.
Don't know if is a change in the app or a different UI in moving to Android but there does not seem to be a way to make an advance booking using the app on my Pixel. This would be a really handy feature for me.
Great little service. Not as many cars as Uber yet but comparable prices and the drivers get a bigger cut. I also like that it is an Australian company.
First time signing up and it claims my phone number has already been registered. Hello?!! Never heard of networks recycling phone numbers?! Well too bad I guess you dont want me as a customer. I'll stick with uber.
A trip that costs $8-10 on uber cost me $15.25. The taxi meter even said $12.75 then there was an additional $2.50 booking fee. The app also isn't as advanced as uber.
Used today for the first time, & what a pleasant surprise to find that from start to finish the whole service worked flawlessly. Definitely will use again. Cheers. Be aware though; if you choose to tip; it will be added to your final payment. Truly no cash needed on oneself for a cab anymore.
After signing up had an employee call to confirm details. He insinuated that I was attempting to commit fraud. Not appreciated at all, will stick with Uber until a decent local competitor enters the market.
Hi, Just wondering why the app does not show a fare estimate when we are booking for a ride? Also, why do we get a message that there are no ride sharing partners available in the area. Being close to the city (Mel), shouldn't there be enough drivers available? Look forward to hearing from you soon!
Told there was no extra charge for this service, then can fare was 33 dollars and I was charged 38. This app/service providing nothing more than ringing for a cab and I got to pay 5 dollars for the pleasure.
The new update seems to send promotions to notification and there's no way to turn them off, apart from uninstalling the app, which will be a shame.
Where do I start. My first experience with GoCatch was horrible. Dirty cab, driver could hardly converse and the best bit he overcharged me. I rated thumbs down and the customer support says that the fare was correct, that's it. What a joke. Guys, please refrain from using GoCatch and I will make sure to pass this message to my friends and family. Made a mistake to use this other than Uber, which has so much better drivers, clean cars and excellent customer service.
Use CXSPP for a $15 credit :) Just like uber but with cab's as well . Use CXSPP for a $15 credit :)
Very good alternative to Uber
CWXPR for $15 credit!
Great Australian app
Mr Zeya
Great app for calling a cab.
Good
I've used this app a few times and the rides themselves are generally good value and good service. Times provided to wait for your approaching car are usually way off. Best not use this if you have to be somewhere in a hurry.
Will give another try I guess, but, not in a hurry. Requested taxi in Melbourne. Endless spinning indicator while waiting for someone to pick up the job I guess. Cancelled after no obvious response or indicator about how long I might be waiting. Say what you will about Uber, but, it does a pretty good job of putting transparency and power in the hand of consumer. With no indicator of waiting time and an outdated approach to "incentives" to just get a taxi to pickup the job, I don't see myself using much.
GoCatch have sent around $20 vouchers for new brisbane customers......unfortunately the voucher codes dont work......and still no response from their support line (email is the only way to contact them) after twenty-four hours and counting......think ill stick with Uber
I used it a few times, pretty limited availability anywhere except for the inner city unless you're getting a cab in which case there's little reason to bother. They also wanted scans of my licence after they'd suspended my account (having used it three times previously) because apparently a credit card and email isn't enough. Stick with uber, there's more drivers and less seedy requests for personal info (oh and they won't give you any reasons why, they just want your id)

I've been using GoCatch rideshare (the alternative to Uber x) for a number of months now and have found very little issue with the app. Also like the fact I can earn QFF points when booking through the app while supporting an Australian company at the same time.
