About [ROOT] SIMEditor

SIMEditor is an application that allows you to change the Number metadata stored in your SIM. Please, notice that this means that it won't change your effective phone number, but the number detected by the system.
This is particulary useful when, after having used a SIM with a temporary number, the system doesn't detect the new number.
This is a Xposed Module, so you will need a ROOTED device with Xposed Framework installed.

This app was tested on a rooted Moto g with Android 6.0 and Xposed v80. I cannot guarantee you that will work on your phone (due to companies software modifications). This app has been developed to work on AOSP.

How to use SIMEditor
- Download and Install Xposed Installer: http://repo.xposed.info
- Install the Xposed Framework through the Xposed Installer app.
- Install SIMEditor.
- Open Xposed Installer and enable SIMEditor module from Modules screen.
- Re-open SIMEditor and change the displayed number clicking on the edit icon.
- Reboot.

After this process, you can uninstall both SIMEditor and Xposed Framework/Installer.

Thanks to this app, I was able to get my sim card to recognize my.number and thus all the messaging apps I use as well. I used it on mm and the change stuck when I installed a custom nougat ROM. Could you guys make this app as a standalone, or does it absolutely need Xposed?

As the only app I found, this app works nicely and does just what it says, yay! Yes, it blocks adding the leading + sign – at least not from within the app. This is somewhat a bummer, but there's a rather simple solution to that: Right after setting your number in the app, without the +, and before the required reboot, open some root file manager and navigate to the file "opt.xml" in folder /data/data/com.gnufabio.simeditor/shared_prefs/. Open the file with some text editor and adjust the line +XXXXXXXXXXX. Save the adjusted file and reboot. Et voilà, the correct number with the leading + will be written to SIM. 4 stars only because the app is not maintained anymore (dev says "Simeditor is deprecated." on his bitbucket repository), and because the app doesn't support Dual SIM. Apparently, it will only see and manipulate the first SIM it sees – which, in my case, incidently was just the SIM I wanted to edit, anyway. It's kind of hidious to have to go to such lengths as rooting the phone and installing Xposed Framework for such a simple task that various antique pre-smart phones could do easily out-of-the-box. Thank you, Google/Android, for that!

Actually deserves 7 * STARS , as it does what it says. Thanks a lot for developing this great app. Finally got what I was looking for a long time. (out of all other crapy n junk Applications , which claim to edit sim card number but they can't) Good Job. ;-)

Why everyone give 1 star if anything app not work on them. If you don't love it, why dou you must hate it?

D70%

Does exactly what it says on my oneplus 2! With this I changed the numbers on two sim cards successfully..

D70%
by D####:

Doesn't work on cm 12.1, with Android 5.1.1, Xposed Framework 75

D70%
by D####:

My device not rooted, i guess it is why it does not work. It writes the number, we reboot and the application itself can see the number it wrote, but Android 5.0 does not see it. I changed SIM card slots, I removed one SIM card and left only the main one... still the same. I uninstalled(!).
