ReSound Control for Android
I have an iPhone 7, which gadget connects directly to the Resound hearing aids, as you know. I also have a Fire Phone which has been rooted to run Android. Over a series of two or more iPhones there has been a distinct crackle or static bit, sporadically. A single bit over a few second interval, then it's fine. The Android relay device has no such problem. It is crystal clear and there is no static. Also the clip-on is easier to answer if there are calls. You don't have to fumble for your phone. All you need is keep your phone in Bluetooth range. Then, too, you can act like a celebrity or newscaster with the gadget like a mic on your collar.
Got a new Samsung s8 and it won't work with resound smart app like my old S6, not available on Google play store. This is very disappointing. Now I have to use the control app and the phone clip. Not GOOD! Resound must be in bed with Apple.
Why doesn't the app have the same functionality as the iPhone's app? I use a nexus 6p which is also a developer phone and they can't get it to work properly with it. It means they aren't trying. Other hearing aid companies have Android apps that work directly with their hearing aids without having to go through a separate device first.
The question is, why will this app not work with the galaxy s8 without a phone clip? I could control my setting, volume, etc when I had a galaxy s6 without the phone clip. The only answer I have seen from resound is "you need a phone clip" but never an explanation of why. If you made it work with older galaxy phones (and with iPhone), it seems you could make it work with the galaxy s8 if you wanted to.
Upgraded from a Samsung Note 3 to an S8+. Neither of my Resound Linx2 hearing aids will work with the Resound Phone Clip+. 3 yrs of working well w/ Note3, I tried updating the app and still no bluetooth pairing. Older version that worked with Note 3 doesn't help since old phone is no longer on a wireless network. Assistive Technology is herky-jerking me around. Resound, FIX IT, please.
Wife's iPhone 6 requires the phone clip too. So my galaxy s3 and her iPhone can't connect directly to the Resound aids via Bluetooth. Trued it with Samsung notebook and it failed also. Manual says the Smart phones can connect direct so it is likely an OS issue.
I had a Galaxy S5 active, when I first got my hearing aids, and the smart app worked fine. I didn't need to have the clip for it to work. I recently upgraded to an S8, downloaded the new app, and I can't get the app to recognize my hearing aids. It won't link to them, and I've tried everything. I've put new batteries in, open and closed battery compartment, and restarted my phone. I've been at this for four days now and it's pissing me off.
This app works, but not anywhere as well as the Resound Smart app. Yes, I can switch between setting and programs as well as adjust volume, which may be all you need, but the one thing really missing is the ability to further adjust treble and base, and the ambient noise from local conversations in crowded places, most noticed as restaurant mode in the standard setups.
Not a full function app. Would like to have better control of sounds. Works good on wife's Ipad, not so much on android. Why not? Android users wear hearing aids, too!
Only works with my right hearing aid. Previous version work with both (sometimes). And my $5400 hearing aids require way too many visits to audiology for maintenance.
Way too expensive for what it does. If I wasn't wearing hearing aids, a cheap set of wireless earbuds would do basically the same thing.
Worked fine with my galaxy s6. Now i have the note 8 and does not work. Spent $4000 on these hearing and now cant use them. I will tell everyone not to buy ReSound Link! Terribly unetheical!
Does not work on this ASUS phone did when I had my Samsung 6edge+. Oh well glad the remote clip is very useful, but would have loved this app for tailoring to various areas we visit.
I upgraded to Galaxy S8 and the smart app I had on the S7 is no longer available. It is now the resound control app. Apparently I now have to use the phone clip to adjust my aids from my phone. Not sure if it will even do it. I had access directly to my aids from my S7 with the resound smart app.
Works great! I hate that I had to buy the phone clip+ but since I have it, I use this app to alter the level of volume vs. streaming. I can turn the music down and keep the hearing aid up, or the other way around.
This app is very poor! it won't control your hearing aids unless you have the smart clip for it. My prior phone's Android app allowed full control of the hearing aids. I can't even find that app with this phone. Sucks!
Hire some Android coders and fire some of your awesome Apple guys who do not have a clue. None of your apps work with Android. So so disappointing.
Why does this app not work without a phone clip? The previous Resound app did. Back to the drawing board!
I don't know what to think. It worked with my Note 5. It won't work with my Note 8 unless I get the clip.
How on earth have you not made the smart app compatible with the S8/S8+ yet? You definitely have the money.
Worked OK with my Galaxy Note 3, but won't work with my new S8
I am very disappointed that the app does not work with Android devices without the phone clip. The phone clip is noisy and drops out frequently on calls and while streaming. I can do the same functions with the buttons on my hearing aid. I will be returning this bad purchase.
App not compatible with Samsung galaxy s8 plus. Pay dearly for the hearing aids and then developer doesn't upgrade app to be used on my phone.
Does not show battery levels of clip or of aids. Does not allow you to make new programs like the iPhone app.
Does not pair with galaxy 8 phones. Apparently they are working on a fix...one year after the release of this phone. Hum...glad I'm not in a rush for this. Is there anything better out there?
Will not connect to my bluetooth compatible hearing aids via my tablet.
Compared to the I phone app. This app is useless
Do not work with galaxy s8 plus
What good is the different settings for listening/location types if you have to reset everything each time you turn off hearing aids each night
Cuts out frequantly. Unstable but when it works it works well.
Does not work on Moto phone. Why?
Basic functions only
I'm using hearing aid and as well phone clip for the last 3 years. I'm happy with the hearing aids but one of my disappointment is the need for the phone clip for all the android phone users. I don't understand why there is not possible after all this year's that only Aple phone users can use the aids pair with the phone without the need for bolcky phone clip, clipped on shirt or other clothing.
Worked on the Note 2 with 4.4.1 ok for first year. Then the clip broke and was replaced by Costco. Wish they would upgrade the type of clip to be stronger.
At least this ReSound App works with my ReSound Linx2 9 Hearing Aids. I was told today by ReSound customer service that they know there is a problem with the Smart App but they have no idea when or if it can be fixed. Disappointing I may have to spend more money on an I Phone just to take advantage of the features of the my Hearing Aids. This is borderline false advertising by ReSound stating, in their literature, that their Hearing Aids are comparable with certain phones when they are not.
Why doesn't the app have the same functionality as the iPhone's app? I use a nexus 6p which is also a developer phone and they can't get it to work properly with it. It means they aren't trying.

I am using this app with ReSound Linx2 T8 61 and the ReSound Unite Phone Clip +. My smartphone is a Motorola Moto Z Play Droid running Android ver. 7.1.1. Despite the statements that ReSound is compatible with Android phones, it is not for Motorola! I cannot use the ReSound Smart app because it only works with Samsung. This app only gives me the ability to control the volume to my hearing aids and streaming devices. But under the Change Program pull down, my only option is All-Around. I do not have the option of setting it for restaurants, TV, etc. Why is Motorola so different from Samsung?
