Compass

I got this app year ago to aim my tv antenna and it worked well. Today after an update, its not so good. Used it 3 times and got a different north every time. One time was almost pointing south. Learn where your north is and when it works it works right. Please note the issue seems to be when coming out of sleep on my lg g5. If i use it for a few minutes it does correct itself.

Seems like it's going to be a great compass, it is pointing North as far as I know. But I wanted to calibrate and when I clicked on the calibration icon it just said look at the three steps and there were not 3 steps below, within the calibration icon area or any steps on how to calibrate otherwise I would have given this a 5 score. Please read explain or repost in your directions section under calibration what are the three steps that have been deleted from this area, to explain how to calibrate thank you

It does what it actually says it can do no BS . No unnecessary intrusion into ones device so far. And accurate , great instructions on how to use. And if needed simple calibration, Best of all the cost. If there was a tip $ jar I would surely be one to use it.! My thanks. To you Mr. compass Man. Thank you,

Reading the reviews of this app and its Pro (ad-free) version, it is pretty obvious that this app is well made. I think the few bad reviews are caused by one of two things: a worthless e-compass (magnetometer) chip in the reviewer's phone, or a Google app installer issue. Neither of those problems can be controlled by the app developer, so gabenative deserves the full 5-star treatment in his reviews. Great job! I really do love this app, and while I rarely use it, it has come in handy one or two times.

Can't get pro version in U.S. ? by the way , find the Big Dipper the last two stars of the spoon will point to a faint star the first the first star of the Little Dipper that is Northstar

Great to start with 2 years ago then due to a problem with the phone all apps had to be deleted. Just reloaded it and had to delete it almost as soon as readings were unreliable. Conclusion : there's no such thing as a free lunch: pay for something if it works. If it dosen't. Get your money back

The app isn't 100% reliable. When switching between landscape and portrait mode you'll get different readings, even if you recalibrate it each time. Remove the annoying Rate This App that continually pops up when closing the app. No one wants to see that all the time! Make the Pro Version available in North America.

It's the best electronic compass I've ever used! It gives you not only compass readings but true magnetic north, plus your exact digital location! A huge bonus is it's not affected by areas of higher magnetic fluctuations, areas of high metal deposits in the terrain or by high power lines like my magnetic hunting compass!!!

Use to do my reports when location vital because reports are legal documents.. Only thing can't get pro version I loved to us this in my car stereos as app if there was no advertising.. Should make a car app

If you take the directions for calibration literally, one would think that the phone needs to be rotated on its axis in one direction. It doesn't! I suggest putting an arrowhead on each end of your diagrams.

Easy to use and easy to read, works even when phone is not laying flat. The only difficulty I have found is when I attempt to calibrate I find it almost impossible to flip the phone around as described without accidently closing the calibration page. I have given up on this app, I am not able get it calibrated.

Simple to calibrate ....when the discription to calibrate comes up it tells you what to do....turn the phone from your left to right anti clock wise ....then rotate the top of the phone towards you... then turn the top left clock wise...remember these rotations are 360deg . lol simple i used this compass twice and it worked perfectly

Just started using this app, it's the best pointer that I've ever seen. Not to brag, but if I find myself somewhere way back in the city, or woods that might not look familiar, I will been using this site.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I must attempt to calibrate this app every use. Sucks when you're out of town and just wanted to know where's north!

I am a professional sailor and live in sri lanka. I wanted to upgrade to pro. It wouldn't let me because I am in a wrong place. About the app, it is really cool but really hate to see the ads. Hope you'll fix it for me

I think it is good and it works well. I like this compass more than others on the Play store. The only suggestion I have is to make the compass has customizable colors, for those who dislike the interface. Thanks for developing this app :-D

It appears to be quite accurate it helped me today with confirming my location when I was off track while driving into a remote area. GPS stopped working so I used it to navigate in a westward direction it kept me on target. Thanks a million!

Rotating the phone for some reason changes the direction of North by a about 10 degrees each turn and i end up with way too much deviation when the phone is completely upside down...can't understand why they can't be accurate

The compass can be as much as 180 degrees off at times. This can occur in an area with full cell coverage. The danger here, of course, is that you may not know when it is accurate and when it is totally off the mark. Best to avoid this.

Unless you recalibrate EVERY SINGLE TIME you open this compass, it doesn't give accurate info. Therefore, it is totally worthless if you are driving and trying to figure out which way you are headed. Once calibrated, it works fine

If you calibrate your device well (The figure-8 method works best for my Note 4), this thing is spot on accurate. The magnetic heading is exactly the same as my precision lensatic compass. The UI is simple and provides everything you need from a compass; nothing more, nothing less. Do a quick calibration when you open and it will serve you well!

Super accurate and easy to use. You never know when you may need this. I visit many towns in the UK and use this to help me get around, especially to get back to where Ive parked the car!

It does what it's supposed to do once you calibrated your phone and turned on the location. Kinda wish I only need to turn the location on but I get that it needs to be accurate. I like that it doesn't eat up my battery like other apps do.

Best compass app i have found. For some reason (electromagnetism) my real compass doesn't work inside my 2016 Corolla. So, this is wonderful. I will definitely get the full version when i can. Alas, I must support good work. Well done.

Very good. If possible it could use a little 'damping' for lack of the right word. It is so sensitive that it is jittery when you hold it in your hand. Makes it hard to read.

I have no respect to people who put missleading ads in their apps like your phone memory is full press to clean or your phone is infected... this is pathetic

I got lost while hiking up on the heathland in Surrey. This app helped me find my position, and then navigate to a road and ultimately my car.

It's accurate in my mobile home full of metal which isn't something you can expect from a traditional compass. It's insanely easy to use. I don't plan on throwing our my traditional compass since I don't like to be totally dependent on technology. It's quick, easy to use, and gets the job done.

spending quite a bit of time fishing lakes in the forest this app is very handy in finding hidden lakes. it also serves as a weather aide if bad weather is approaching. we know where to watch the skies. I'd recommend this to everyone.

Excellent point read/shoot. Outdoorsman here....this has taken a lot of the guess work of where and direction out of walking/boating in circles....has led me home several times....thank you, thank you!

But one thing, After rated it, yet every time while trying to exit from the app, rate me page appears. It's very annoying!

The dial shows North in a different position every time I turn. North should stay in the same place!

This app has come in handy more than once. I do residental home inspections and one of the things I need to know is how the house sits on the lot. I appreciatd all the work you have put into this.

Inaccurate I needed a compass bearing in my home. It gave me complete opposite readings in the exact same area 3 times

Thanks for this app. Now I don't have to worry about getting truly lost. Even with GPS, you wind up without signals sometimes. Now I feel much safer. It's great for people with no sense of direction. LOL!! Thanks

Your phone needs cleaning , battery needs help, ect . Would not mind adds selling value products. Makes me distrust the app.

Just downloaded at the suggestion of a friend. Very nice! Update ...... After using this for a couple of years it is still an important tool to help me in parking my motorhome in the proper orientation for sun exposure.

Used this app to retrieve/mark my lost anchor in the bay... Came back in the morning to the saved coordinates... There is was stuck in a reef! Saved myself $125 dollars the first time I used it.
