Message Nag

Message Nag is a supplement to the standard SMS and GMail notifications rather than a complete replacement. It simply watches for notifications, sounds a programmable alert tone, then repeats another selectable tone at a programmable interval and number of reminders.

Message Nag is ideal for doctors (like me- that's why I wrote it) or other busy professionals that can't always read messages right away, but can't afford to miss them.

Before each reminder alert, it checks to see if the notification is cleared. Root access is required for this check and you will see the standard "root access granted" popup just before each reminder tone sounds.

GMail notification monitoring requires the Android Accessibility Service be enable for Message Nag. You will be prompted to enable that the first time Message Nag is run.

Because Message Nag depends on the normal notification process, do not disable notifications. Rather, in the settings for GMail and your SMS client, set the alert tones to "silent".

Message Nag works only with GMail for email. For SMS, it is configured to work with Google Messages by default. But any other SMS client can be configured as well. Feel free to email me with your favorite SMS client's name and package name. I'll update Message Nag accordingly.

Message Nag only looks for notification tones in the system/media/audio/notifications & mnt/sdcard/notifications folders. So place any custom ring tones in the SD card notifications folder. Custom tones will be at the bottom of the selection menu.
