DelaySms (Delay text/Schedule text)
This app is useful to schedule a text(SMS) to a recipient at any particular time on any particular date.
We can select the date,time or alert type by clicking the buttons provided and choosing accordingly.
We can also view the scheduled texts by clicking the context icon provided on the top right hand corner, and edit the texts by long clicking the list item. The scheduled text/s can be cancelled by selecting the cancel option.
Useful for:
Birthday,anniversary and other important events messages.
Permissions:
SMS - To read and write texts to the native SMS manager
Vibrate - For vibrating alert type
Alarm - To schedule the text
Note: Completely Ad free.

Does the job well. One suggestion and one plea. I frequently send the same or similar messages, so a template or sent messages list would be handy. I sometimes want to send messages overnight, but none of these apps seem able to do it. Perhaps it needs some extra permissions? EDIT found an app called LATR that does both of the above.

I downloaded this sp that I could surprise my children wit a bunch of txts. It loaded the first (poorly) and just dumped the rest. Can't uninstall it quickly enough

I tried to send a delayed text and the app decided to send it immediately. If I wanted to send a text immediately I'd use my normal texting app... Horrible experience... Don't use...

Usually too late or early to send a message, or just know that I will forget it so I schedule it for the right time!!

But the small icon to send is placed in an uncomfortable spot. Messages also disappear from the queue. Please fix.

In theory this is a great app. Easy to use, does what you'd expect it to. Only not every time. After you schedule a message, you can see a list of all messages scheduled, and only about 1 in 3 messages makes it to that list. The rest, just don't. You get the same confirmation that everything went well, no errors, but the messages aren't scheduled. So you have to check after every message if it has really been scheduled, and in my experience, be prepared to retype the same thing about 3 time on average.
