Botifier for Android
Fantastic
If you use a car, if it has AVRVP, you need this app. It's awesome! Still a young app, but updates and fixes are rolling out lightning fast. Love it.
My only request would be an option to ignore URLs. The TTS will attempt to read them going into a 30s long spell-a-thon with a hashcode.
Thank you so much for the app. Its cool :) worked on my sony sbh 50 :)
Spotify TTS stutters, starts to read the title of song, stops then reads it out loud again. Sometimes it randomly turns down volume for a few seconds in middle of song.
This app is simply the must get if your car can display Bluetooth meta tag info. It turns your cast into a smart watch for notification.
Very good app for generic smart watches ⌚ ⌚⌚ ⌚⌚ highly recommend
Very useful and does what it says.
Fantastic
On HTC first
Samsung Galaxy updates to 4.3 broke AVRCP and the BT to Text feature for everything except stock music player and Google Music.
with my other phones the player is able to display song/artist/ album info without this software. but my new MI3 even after installing this software it does not show. may be problem with the phone software. running MIUI5 on ANDROID 4.4.2 please fix this it would be of great help
Great concept, but has issues with apps with persistent notifications (such as battery monitor pro) uninstalled for now, but promising concept! App-level blacklist would be perfect. Would also prefer if it didn't interrupt music.
Its a great start but definitely needs an app blacklist also the latest update now causes persistent notifications to be pushed... This causes issues with media players that use the notification tray... as it consistently subdues the playing audio volume level. Edit: just as I posted an update was pushed.
I cannot seem to get any notifications to work with my nexus 4 on 4.3 and my Ford focus with My Ford Touch. The artist/description data will not update. The test notification does not produce any results as well
I wish it scrolled a little faster but it works great. When I'm streaming music it slightly lowers the volume and displays the message until I hit a button on my head unit. Is it possible to make it lower the music only for a few seconds? Great app!
But I refrained from giving it a below average rating since I'm not entirely sure that it wasn't due to incompatibility with my car (2010 UK-spec Ford Fiesta). The car radio normally only shows track name and play time even with Google Music and Pandora, so it may not be fully AVRCP compatible. Update: the latest update works for me now, but a notification pauses whatever is playing, and it stays paused for as long as the message appears in the notification area.
My car displays music track info from my phone OK but not the notifications (including the test ones). Not sure why. Does it clash with music player apps?
Works pretty well. I would like a button to enable or disable Botifier completely. At this point I have to uninstall to temporarily disable it. Sometimes I don't want my text messages showing in my car.
Force closes on cyanogenmod 10.2. Please fix.
This is an excellent app to keep you hands free while driving. Works as advertised once you enable the notifier in your Security Settings. My one issue is that the app turns your music down to give you the notification regardless of if Text to Speech is turned on our not, but when it does this it will not restore your music to the previous listening level until you dismiss the notification from your phone. This completely eliminates what the app is trying to accomplish. I hope the dev allows us to set a timer of maybe 10 seconds where the music volume will be reduced and the message displayed, then after that time the message will disappear and the volume will be restored to its previous level. Other than this tweak I think the app is excellent. Work great in my 2012 toyota Prius.
Love the concept, looking to future releases that will iron out several bugs Only first notification tts enabled, subsequent notification does not play on nexus4 running stock 4.3 while on bluetooth
Need Hangouts support
Just needs some tweaking and features. Hope there is a way to make music keep playing
Great app
I've been waiting for something like this. I have a suggestion: Please allow a configuration for Botifier to not respond to Bluetooth Controls. Why? When attempting to use this to send Slacker Radio information, the override of the bluetooth controls stops me from being able to change tracks, as well as it constantly pauses the music when I hit Play. So right now it is unusable for me in this instance, but could have great potential as there are so many Android music apps that don't support proper AVRCP track info.
Running on a rooted s4 with stock ROM. Connected to Audi bluetooth audio system. Update I have sent the developer an email based on his response to my 1 star. Bottom line the app didn't work for me. Android sends data over BT to the car (track, artist, image etc) so I have to assume that the app is incompatible with either a new phone or new car, as the phone is compatible with the car normally . Update 2 - I have received a prompt response from Dev who is looking to troubleshoot the issue with me. Fingers crossed.
We need a way to blacklist entire apps, not just certain phrases. The text to speech function just doesn't work well at all with apps like music and podcast players that use notifications to control playback.
I was using this app for a while from F.Droid. Then I got a new phone and used this version but it no longer worked in my 2010 Prius. I went back to the F.Droid version on my Nexus 5 and now it's working. Seems something is broken on this 1.4.0 version while 1.3.2 on F.Droid is still a good version.
Easy set-up, love the white list idea... what a great (and free) app! UPDATE: no longer works.
Works great!
Love the app, does what it says. Going to be an app I cant live without
A list of compatible devices is needed. Not working with my Bionic/ 2013 VW. I know Bionic is capable because it worked with 99 Honda/Pioneer.
Not sure if it's me but it's not working. .. Android 4.4.2 and played with the settings. Help.

Been looking for an app that does this for a while. It does work, however it is not perfect for my OEM Subaru radio, but with a few tweaks I think it could be. My radio only displays the first 12 characters of one artist/album/track field at a time, unless I push and hold a button, then it will display ~30 characters of one field. Ideally there could be an option in botifier to autoscroll messages within the 12 character limit so that I could display full messages without hitting buttons.
Samsung Galaxy updates to 4.3 broke AVRCP and the BT to Text feature for everything except stock music player and Google Music.
All other apps that use avrcp work flawlessly on my nexus 5. This app does nothing.

But could be improved. My messages app has to say notifcations as "Contact name : message" I have no way on this app to use the message after the contact name, such as after the ':' symbol. If there were filters or ways to exclude certain text values, this would be 5 stars. Otherwise excellent app.
