About JC BOSE ENGINEERING COLLEGE
Supreme Knowledge Foundation Group of Institutions (SKFGI) with two Schools Sir J C Bose School of Engineering and Dr P C Mohalanabish School of Management was founded under the Chairmanship of Mr. Bijoy Guha Mallick of Supreme Knowledge Foundation Trust, in 2009, offering under graduate and postgraduate courses in engineering and postgraduate courses in Business Management. SKFGI started functioning with the approval of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and affiliation to Moulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT) (formerly known as WBUT) and recognised by the University Grant Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956.
Within a span of seven years since its inception in 2009, has created a near ideal academic campus to assist learners to climb to the peak of their career through a seamless journey from its undergraduate (B Tech), Diploma, postgraduate (M Tech) and Ph D program. Further, the Institute is organizing national and international conferences every year thus giving the students to bathe in the personalities of academic stalwarts from India and Abroad.
Our progress is visible by looking into the impressive list of publications by the teachers and students, the index of attainment of an academic institution. Further, because of its unique feature of teaching, learning, evaluation, campus discipline, R & D activities and placement, it has ranked the third best engineering college in the eastern India adjudicated by the survey conducted by Saturday Times in collaboration with SAFHI-ORG India (P) Ltd. Engineering and management institutes are legion, but SKFGI can boast of many unique features, like the following:
1. Ragging Free Campus: This word is unknown in the Supreme Knowledge Foundation Group of Institutions.
2. Unique Geographical Location: The institution with adequate built-up space as per AICTE norm is located in a lush green pollution-free environment of 10.408 acres, away from the din and bustle of city life, and is at a stone throw distance from the railway station "Mankundu", about 30 km away from Kolkata – immersed in the culturally and historically rich environment of Chandannagar.
3. Orientation Programme: New entrants are stepping into an unknown environment, a new surrounding with an entirely different cultural atmosphere. A transition from school life to college life, a quantum jump. We motivate to absorb this shock. Otherwise they may suffer cultural and emotional shock. If they do not understand and appreciate this difference between school education and college education, it will be useless to motivate them to take up engineering education.
4. Academic Rigor: No compromise is made with regard to discipline both during internal and university examinations. Parents are constantly kept in touch regarding their ward’s performance during examinations and lack of discipline, if any, as well as their achievements and disciplinary records.
5. Technology Education for the Next Generation: Our teaching method is based on innovate Technology, for the benefit of the society. Our method, in contradiction to that of others, is based on the fusion of our ancient Gurukul system of education and the use of Information Technology in education, theme of which centres around the philosophy of Swami Vivekananda: “training of hands and training of mind to think” and Albert Einstein: “Education is not the learning of facts but training of mind to think”.
As a result, our students are securing jobs in famous organizations, such as CTS, TCS, INFOSYS, TEKTRONICS, ACCENTURE, WIPRO, KPIT, IBM, SYNECHRON, RELIANCE, REPRO, etc. Their creative thinking has helped them to earn world recognition through publications of research papers in peer reviewed journals. Moreover, they have been selected for admission in IIM, ISM, etc. for higher studies.
