EDIT: just got version 4.4.1-1403. Battery drain issue solved. ???? ???? Old review: On version 4.4.0-1403, the app drains 85% of my phone battery in 4 hours. Seriously devs, you can't do worse than that. Even the Android Wear app (which has tons of negative feedback) doesn't drain battery that way...

I've owned pebble watches for a few years now without problems. However, since the beginning of this month I have been unable to sync my watch with my phone. Like other people who've given reviews, I have tried everything to no avail. It is EXTREMELY annoying and my watch is basically useless now.

C70%
by C####:

There are times (while switching phones), that the bluetooth section of the watch says "connected", but app on the phone says "connecting". 07/15: sudden disconnections. Has support for this being terminated even thought 2017 has not finished, yet? UPDATE: voice reply is not working at all. Commenting from an OP5

So sad! My pebble watch can not receive notification from Chamberlain myQ garage any more after the lastest update on July 18, 2017. Wish I could go back to older version.

This watch was perfect! It did everything i wanted it to....but now certain bits are starting to fail? For instance controlling the music, all i can do now is alter the volume. If you want to skip a track or restart one, you have to go to the phone directly to do it. I've uninstalled it and reloaded it to no avail! Its a shame really as it used to be brilliant ????

I have been using pebble since inception. Pebble started the wearable movement and has been getting better with each update. Unfortunately some people don't realize you have to go into the app to update the firmware and that it does not automatically update. I have had zero problems with battery or crashing. My word of advise, not all apps are created equal and that may be why you have battery drain or crashing. Good luck Pebble with your future, I am sure we will be hearing from you again very soon. Thank you for fixing the icon issue, never thought it would be fixed.

THIS is how to sunset. Pebble did everything right, including bowing out of offering support for their watches. I've got my fingers crossed they'll help Fitbit launch something even more amazing but am afraid the pebble series were a brief flash of genious design and execution in the wearables world. So long and thanks for all the fish!

A pebble is still the top battery life watch with max feature you can find in market. I am so sad that the fitbit closed it down. It created the smart watch market and stop watch market will drown with it.

C70%
by C####:

Shame that pebble is no more as they were more Android Wear than Android Wear was. Kudos to the company that picked them up for doing the right thing and fixing the app so it's not dependant on online anymore so we can still use our watches ????

I loved my pebble, much more than I liked my previous smart watches (moto 360 v1 and v2). But this new update has rendered my watch useless, it can't connect to my phone at all anymore, even if I uninstall the app and reinstall it, or if I factory reset the watch, doesn't matter, it won't connect anymore.

C70%
by C####:

The app very suddenly stopped connecting to my pebble time. Restarting the app and phone did nothing. I am currently re-installing the application to see if that works... the star because it worked great before this problem.

Loads of content, easy to connect & the native health app is a much welcome addition to my watch collection family! The watch software and companion app just keeps getting better and better! Thank you pebble for the updates still!!

The app used to be fantastic, but now it keeps crashing and even when it's running I receive notifications only very sporadically. Text messages usually get through then, but nothing else. Such a shame. Please fix this!

Thank you very, very much for not leaving us high and dry. Making the software usable without a dependency on cloud services that probably won't be around much longer is a wonderful and considerate gesture; I'm very grateful.

Love my four Pebbles, but I pass on this update. Too many possibilities for rendering my watches immediately useless. Only when they die on their own will I venture to tamper with a functional s/w solution. Had a gold and round, and when it ended I grabbed 2 more golds refurbished to hedge against button/battery hardware failure. But I just can't trust the new software release after reading a dozen horror stories here. *-*-*-* - - - - - - - - - - - UPDATE: I accidentally updated my Note3 to the latest 4.4 version and all is well. I noticed no deficiencies, and all voice apps are still functional days later. It appears to lower the battery usage noticeably, so I also updated my two Note2 phones a day later. They too seem happy. If I still have voice on New Year's day I will be one very happy camper indeed. Pebble is so indispensable!

by C####:

Update:v4.4.1 seems to have fixed previous CPU usage major bug. Old: Avoid v4.4.0 Fitbit screwed app with memory hole for constant data release, which sucks PHONE battery life. Sideload previous v4.3 for proper watch utilization.

#LoveMyPebble The best smartwatch EVER. I have the Pebble Time. There is absolutely nothing else with which to replace it. The latest update in summer 2017 fixed the problems with downloading apps and seeing thumbnails. If you don't have this update, get it! I got my Note 8 on the first day available and and had NO PROBLEMS AT ALL with 7.1.1 Nougat running Pebble for my Pebble Time. Absolutely seamless from KitKat 4.4.4 to 7.1.1. Just beautiful. Pebble×Fitbit=Awesome. Thus far. I still will get a Pebble 2 or, more likely, a red Pebble Time from Amazon. They are now new at $100+ when they were cutting the price in half, expecting lower demand. Ha! People are still buying these watches!!! So they raised up the price! I was hoping Fitbit's new watch would be very Pebbly. Oh, well. Because I #LoveMyPebble so 0much. I wish a group would get together and independently make the hardware for the Time 2, and the Pebble Store would support it. You know, check on whatever crumbs Fitbit bought in tems of Intellectual Property, and then just make the hardware. Just an idea. Also, could you folks explain what people should do about battery replacement so that they don't harm their watches in the process? Give the exact watch battery type and size for each device with installation instructions. I'm sure folks in the Pebble community would be glad to help. I haven't had a problem, but in the future...

The app is good, but one day it lost connection with my Pebble, so I tried forgeting my android on it and pairing it again. It didn't work. I kept trying aand trying and I looked it up on the internet but none of the information was useful, so now there is a lot off things I can't do on my pebble, it would be great if someone knew how to help me.

I still love my Pebble Steel. But is there a chance you might come up with an upgrade to fix the dodgy up and middle buttons? Only the down and back buttons work fine.

C70%

I loved my pebble dearly, but continued steps backward in functionality finally ending rendered it unusable for me. Then Pebble were swallowed by the evil Fitbit empire and abandoned their army of fanatically loyal users. A sad end to an awesome product. So long Pebble - we will miss you.

It's too bad that Pebble had to go away, but thank goodness they are still working on the app. Thank you so much, pebble, for everything!

Ohhhh...nice. Finally; the watchface icons are back in the recent update. Hope Pebble never dies. Indeed the best smart watch out there. I hated the random texts and calls from other touch screen smart watches simply from moving my wrist and sleeve rubbing on them, especially when it rained. Pebble Classic & Steel; Time Steel; & Time 2 (black + red) owner.

Will not connect. It just sits there spinning it's wheel. The Pebble sits on the initial boot screen doing nothing, even after manually pairing through the BT menu (which pairs *instantly*). How the hell do I access the main menu mentioned throughout the help?

C70%

WHY THE NEED TO SIGN IN TO CONNECT? One of the reasons I bought my pebble was for the sports apps etc. I regularly play golf on a course that had limited or no 3g/wifi reception & if contact is lost I cannot connect the watch & cannot use my golfpad app. Since it sometimes connects without internet why not all the time? - (especially since no support now!) Should have bought a proper smartwatch I suppose....UPDATE..Aug. 2017..I take all the above back! Amended to 5 stars. Thank you so much for the ability to connect watch to phone with no Internet needed! (Am so chuffed have bought new 'time steel' as old 'steel' buttons gone a bit dodgy.!) Thank you for the continuing support for us pebble lovers!

????I sent money to support Pebble and pre-purchase or fund a new product, Fitbit took my money and gave me a note saying pebble service is discontinued. With only half of my money back. Fitbit has now been sued for this and lost but still will not refund my money claims it refunded because I got half of my product. ????Fitbit needs to take responsibility for what they bought and what they made me buy 2 get what they ultimately didn't send me. This is unethical. If you ever want to stick it to the man for ripping people off this would be the time. Don't buy Fitbit products they bully companies out of business that are their competition. This ultimately cause you and me more and limits the products we get. also people like me just get ripped off.

Doesn't work on the Pixel 2 XL / Android O. After lot's of restarts / factory resets it might pair once, but then looses notifications after a while + won't reconnect (Pebble will state "connected", Phone will say "connecting"). Watch: Pebble 2 SE

One of the latest updates - 4.4.0 or 4.4.1 - broke something important, now the app crashes out of the blue occasionally and often fails to start on phone reboot. I have to launch it manually and even then I often get 3-4 rapid crashes per attempt instead of it actually starting, and only get it running after trying over and over a bunch of times. Thanks, Fitbit.

Still maintained? Thank you very much. Why not start production of Pebble Time 3 then? I'd still buy!

L70%

It works well except it does not respect Android O's notification channels. Even when I say that I don't want any interruption it shows it is running in the background on the pull down shade.

Takes a while for Pebble to connect on Oreo, don't panic! I wish that Pebble could continue to produce the devices that we know they're capable of producing. I applaud their commitment to supporting their devices until the servers get switched off. Bravo. Bellissimo.

R70%

I have to do a factory reset for it to get notifications from my phone now. Works for about a day, then I have to do it again. Was working perfectly before the last update. I love my pebble, but if it doesn't work for notifications, then it's just a watch for telling the time!

C70%

sadly whatsapp changed something in their notification handling and now i won't receive any whatsapp messages on my pebble anymore. edit: no update whatsoever but it works again.. o.O

The first review below, I should clarify, is ONLY for the app, not my beloved Pebble, Pebble Steel, or Pebble Time Steel. I'm still, now and forever, heartbroken at the loss of the Pebble brand, and the lovely team they built together making wonderful products that constantly pushed the envelope in exciting new ways. I will adore my sweet little smartwatch forever, even when it inevitably dies, even when I have to ebay a new one because they've been out of production for years. This last update is bittersweet. I'm glad they made it, I'm glad they got permission to publish it, I'm glad the heart of this device gets to beat a little longer. That said, I cried reading the patch notes, because this is truly the end of something wonderful that I was proud to have supported all these years. I hope that team can make Fitbit a better company. I hope they can force Fitbit to make good products one day. Until I see their thumbprint on something tangible, Fitbit is absolutely dead to me. Their slash and burn tactics handling competitors was archaic technique and barbaric. I thought, with so many tech giants setting a new standard of supporting startups without shutting them down, that others would take the cue. Trust Fitbit to miss the memo. Rest in peace, Pebble, Vector, and all of the other companies Fitbit has bought to shut down. Unpairs regularly, cannot repair. Most recently app had to be uninstalled and reinstalled to make it recognise my Pebble. The new Pebble OS kills my battery and freezes weekly, but every single time I look at it there is significant artifacting. I'm so, so over this new OS in every way possible. I'm tempted to give away my Pebble.
