Ahoy was introduced to me by a friend. We started using it as a means to check in at funny places but our group of Ahoy-ers quickly grew and now its become a small phenomenon in our friend group. Ahoy is a great way of quickly checking in and letting someone know you're thinking of them and possibly giving them a laugh. I highly recommend Ahoy and urge anyone to give it a try.

I must be missing something because I can't see a reason to use this over Swarm (Foursquare). The map isn't as detailed as Swarm, and you can't really do anything on the detail page it sends people to. If I want people to know where I'm at on Twitter, I'll check the box on Swarm to post to Twitter or use an app like Glymps that allows you to set the length of time people can see your location.

This app works great! Easily share location with friends with one tap, and post to foursquare, Twitter, etc.
