By default the app work in offline mode to collect field data of species (this version). The user has the ability to edit his data on his device, before uploading and sharing. A user’s data is mirrored (synchronised) in the cloud and shared to all users of the app, which can use all data offline, without any other upload and download processes. The user has the ability to export the application file to be analysed with other software (QGIS, MS Access). The application file can also be used to customise (import) your own species list.
Other features:
1. GPS points can be averaged for better accuracy
2. Spatial features like lines, polygons, and multiple points can be shared between users for offline use.
3. Coordinates can also be created / adjusted manually by tapping on a base map (without GPS)
4. Various image management options, take photo, upload an existing photo, crop image, add your username as copyright to your images
5. This version has a preloaded species list of nearly 30 000 species Southern Africa species (24 000 plants, 952 Birds, 120 Animals, Invertebrate, Frogs, Reptiles)
6. Quick record mode: just take photos in the field, assign species name when back in the office, or a more suitable time.
