About General Cable Voltage Drop

General Cable’s Voltage Drop Calculator is a quick and easy tool to find Maximum Circuit Distance and Minimum Conductor Size for the required voltage drop. It is designed for contractors, electricians, and other electrical professionals.

The minimum conductor size section will show the required conductor size, actual voltage loss, maximum allowable voltage loss, and maximum amps for the conductor. The amperage values are from the NEC® table T310.15 (B) (16) 75°C rating. Conductor sizes are determined based on the amperage value provided by the user and not the expected loads which in some scenarios may result in a larger conductor size.

The Maximum Circuit Distance section shows maximum circuit distance, allowable voltage loss, actual voltage loss, and maximum amps of the selected conductor.

Code Selection for NEC® 2011, 2014, and 2017.

Metric or standard conductors

So bad

K70%

Doesn't allow you to choose a temperature rating. Seems to use 75 deg C. Though 60 will be very common terminal rating under 100 amps.

X70%
by X####:

Lovely. Just what I needed.

R70%
by R####:

When 100m is set for 'run length' in metric mode and then same data is entered for standard mode but 'run length' of 328 ft (equivalent of 100m)....the actual voltage loss differs! Something is wrong!

Very good

Good job, but it is a limited app as it doesn't support the SI units :(

A really cool look and feel. And this is easy to use and convenient when I am in the field.
