Kitchen - GE Appliances for Android
Whole point of connecting the oven is to control it remotely. App tells you to hit the Remote Enable button ON THE OVEN before you can use the app to control the oven remotely. What moron came up with that pointless functionality?!
Connect equires internet connectivity to work. Lose connection to GE servers, lose connection to your appliances. RIFICULOUS AND UNNECESSARY. Fine to phone home once in a while. To require the internet to be up all the time is wrong. Not only do I live in an area where the internet goes off from time to time, it means that the appliance is begging to be hacked and added to an IOT botnet.
As previously noted, what is the point of having an APP to control the device REMOTELY, when the first instruction on the app is to press "REMOTE ENABLE" button on the device. Is this a software bug or am I doing something wrong?
I got my range connected to WiFi but with this app I can't control it. I spend a lot of money so I can control my range on wi-fi and it doesn't work and I already hate it thank you
There is a spelling error in settings > sabbath. App is a cool idea but needs work. For range, seems only to work on ovens, not the stove. Will this be changing in the future? I see that remote must be activated before can use app due to regulation, when this changes, does this mean the software will be updated or that it will only be in newer models? This seems disappointing for the price of the range. :(
Need to be able to either have multiple user accounts per appliance, or at least have separate notification settings per device. I'm not the primary user of the oven on our house, so I don't care to get notifications about timers and preheat when someone else is using it. I have to sign out of the app when I'm not using it to avoid this.
Will not connect to my GE profile double oven. Prompts for required update to wifi module. GE will not provide working update so app and feature is worthless.
Worked for a while with my dishwasher then stopped. Can't reconnect. All it really did was tell me when the cycle was done and when it needed rrnse agent. All-in-all, a waste of time.
This is worthless, you need to press a button on the range first, negating the entire purpose.
I can control everything on my fridge BUT can not see the actual fridge or freezer temps, only the settings. Seems crazy. Is there a way to get this info?

Wifi does not work on Android. Will not see the router. Works fine on iOS.

I really wanted to give this a good rating... But why do I need to sign up for something, and when I do, why not via the app so I can be logged in? I already paid for this microwave - don't make it hard for me please. I won't be using this app because I don't have time for this
Can't get passed the login. Created an account and when I tried to log in it says invalid credentials.
It gave me a message that my food had reached its' (sic) temperature. Is it so hard to find someone who knows English?
Added my oven and now the app crashes as soon as it starts. Tried reinstalling and it happens as soon as I login, so I can't even remove the oven. Useless.
Caused my phone to reboot
I have tried to use the app with my GE refrigerator model CFE28USHFSS and it just doesn't work. I followed all the instructions to pair it with my phone. I managed to successfully connect the phone and the refrigerator through the app but, when I select to warm water for tea or any other beverage, I get a message stating that the water is ready but it isn't. I have to tap the screen on the fridge in order to get what I want. I have tried changing networks on my phone (5 GHz to 2 GHz) to no avail. It is useless... **Update 05/30/17** After getting a reply from the GE appliances people explaining to me how the app and the refrigerator work, I have managed to connect my A.I. assistant and the fridge. I can ask to warm water for coffee and it works!! Now I feel stupid for not reading the instructions thoroughly before my previous review. Thanks GE appliances people for your response! By the way, are you guys planning on adding a visible/active clock to the LCD screen? That would be very helpful if you could ???????????? Thanks again!
I was able to connect and interact with my appliances. But now the app keeps asking me to input the appliance model number whenever I need to use it
I'm having to type in my model number every time that I've tried to connect to my refrigerator. This defeats the whole purpose of connecting wirelessly. Model P PFE28PSKGSS.
Can't get the refrigerator to connect. App is asking me to turn off a wifi setting that doesn't exist on my phone, and I can't continue making the app unusable.
Not happy, it asks for the model number everything I try to connect.
It worked perfectly initially, but the app keeps asking for the model number every time for the fridge, making it impossible to use conveniently. Its model number CFE28USHKSS

Only issues I ran into is my phone I keep connected to my 5GHz band and the range is 2.4GHz only. I had to switch my phone to 2.4 before the oven would connect but other than that ez peezy. Works even with Alexa! It's almost instant. My only gripe is having to always press the remote enable button, very annoying.

Doesn't let you get to heating and setting up a schedule
This app made me so mad that I'm returned the refridgerator.
Would not let me passed the initial log in where you have to accept the terms.
Can't get to connect with with Samsung phone.
Nothing works at all. Customer service not able to do anything but read the book which does not fix the problem. Bad experience!!!!!
Brillion supported the N7. Not so with this app. Other than new colors and name, not sue why one would use this over the other.

Needs support to upload pictures to refrigerator. Doesn't make sense to have to use USB if you have an app to connect to the refrigerator. Otherwise pretty good so far. Has room for improvement.
I tried logging in to my account after I registered it. Got "invalid login" so I reset my password only to get "invalid parameter". I just uninstalled it. I tried going on their website to see if I could find a solution...nothing.
App is nice, but could be so much more. To be truly competitive, it needs things like the ability to upload pictures to my refrigerator's LCD screen using the app instead of manually with a USB drive. GE also needs to look into consolidating their apps. It would be very nice to have one control center app for all my appliances instead of one for my kitchen and one for my laundry room.

Connects the range to WiFi just fine. But I'm not sure what else it does, aside from giving constant and annoying notifications. Every time someone turns on the stove top, notifications that the stove top is on, continually, for at least 30 minutes after the stove has been turned off. And there appears to be no other way to turn off the notifications except by using Android to block them. The notification settings in the app have no effect at all.
