GCDroid - Geocaching

I have used this app on several caching outings and after getting used to it, it does everything I need except allow me to upload photos to my log after logging. This is one feature I would really like to see added and would make the app perfect!

Powerful yet easy to use. I have tried most of the caching apps on android and this is the only one that remains. It is intuitive and has good online capability - although there are some features would like to see added, this comes close.

Works great, and it just got a lot better! Addhamh Black suggested that the way points stay attached and wallah! Thank you! I love this app.

I couldn't even log in, it said my email address was unavailable when I tried signing up but when I requested my log in info be sent to my email I never got the email. Couldn't even get in to try the app.

I use this app all the time. Absolutely love it. Live the offline ability.

The best app out there for Android hands down. Except for a couple things that are really needed. The first one is the biggest set back for this app: when you add waypoints to a cache, they don't stay there if you back out to the map. Added waypoints need to stay attached to the cache. The next one is the ability to add waypoints of my own to the map that aren't attached to a cache. This is helpful when out placing caches or a series of caches. Please add this functionality to the app. Otherwise a great app

I've used it for a few years now and worked with other apps. This one gives me access to the side game the best. Useful features include proximity and the quick switch between street and satellite.

I really like that the field notes you create whilst in the field are automatically ported over to your GC account. Question: If I upgrade to the Pro v., will I see the trackable inventory in caches?

Did not have any problems with it. I like that it has other useful tools than the official Geocaching app.

I love this app. Makes hunting geocacher easier.

I've used GCDroid for a couple of years now, and I am really happy with it. The maps are good, you can easily create custom logs, and a find smiley shows immediately on map and cache list. Best, it's ridiculously easy (and fast) to upload databases. I recommend it.

I like it but I don't know how to make my own cache. Also, I'm not seeing any hints. Btw my user name is kimhenry1986

All i can see is the world map with a green dot on my state and it says no caches found.

The map doesn't show caches that I have already found unless I'm missing something.

I like it a lot better than using the Garmin I used to have.

I don't know why we can't upload a picture with our log. That is what is missing for the final star. Also would love to be able to import a kmz for delorme pages. But good enough for me to buy the pro version

Worked fine before. Now it doesn't show any caches. Uninstalled / reinstalled didn't help. Premium member and I bought GCDroid key. Edit: new version a day later seems to have fixed the problem. Thanks for quick fix.

Very good app for geocaching. They had a problem with the last update, but they fixed it within a few days. Upgrading to premium for sure

I am quite surprised that GCDroid has such a low rating here. I did try every not yet abandoned geo-app and this is best app for live geocaching for android IMHO. Very clean and very fast GUI, many preconfigured maps (but you can configure any amount of yours - e.g. national live topo map), caches are shown on map on their corrected coordinates and with different icon so you know this cache is solved, etc... One CON I can see is no support for seeing and logging trackables. But developer is very friendly and communicative and he is working on it according to his words. Pro Key is small fee for this nice app.

Can you please let me know what is the matter with the app not loading caches. It keeps telling me no cache found. I'm having to find a new app due to geocache classic ending

It's pretty good as far as a generic search tool but if you want to use it to actually FIND a cache (go figure) it's useless. You click on the details and ask it shows is the owner's details. No hint. No description. No information on what it is you're looking for.

Doesn't load caches. We had to use a different app.

I've used this app before and it's been great. However it's not showing any info for each cache. Have uninstalled and downloaded a new veesion in the hope that would resolve it, but unfortunately not. Please can you have a look? It's unusable at the mo...

It's not loading any caches now, I've tried on 3 different devices & it won't work :-(

I've been using this app for over a year. It works great and is completely stable. It has a really good maps system, superb integration with other apps, multiple databases, and direct PQ downloads. The author is active and continues to improve it. The accuracy is good and it uses Google maps which are familiar. You can also use satellite view, live OSM, and others. A huge plus is you can download offline maps for when you lose cell data. Looking for better TB integration, but this is a must have app!

Cannot get live maps to work, no matter what won't show any caches. It's a pity because I like the layout of the app and would like to give it a go.

The description of apps is never shown :-/ However, it somehow worked at the beginning, but now it can't download description anymore..

No caches on map but they exist. Also offline map doesn't work, no any tile is shown at all

Bad experiences with Magellan eXplorist had us giving up on geocaching until we tried this app. A compass arrow would be nice but we can wait. Even using it offline we were able to complete several caching adventures.

This is one of the better geocaching apps (especislly if you use GSAK since it reads GSAK databases directly). Unfortunately there hasn't been a lot of development lately. It would be very nice if it would let you retrieve trackables from a geocache. Also it would be nice if you could attach photos to logs. The GDAk compatibility helps me overlook the minor shortcomings.

App works very well and seems quite accurate.

Excellent off line mapping. Great when abroad or in areas of poor phone reception. Top app

What's up with the time on the logs, there is no way I was out at 3 am. Logged at about1pm shows as 3am. Sounds like GMT is being recorded instead of local time. Needs to be fixed.

Every one i click i get an error.
