This application is designed for Android-devices for which there is no separate application icon "People" (or "Contacts"), i.e. as if there is no such application.
This situation is not uncommon for an inexpensive tablet without cellphone module (only with wi-fi) - manufacturers sometimes leave application "People" (or "Contacts"), but does not permit direct access to run this application (only if through gmail-application).
The application "~People" itself does not do anything, but in fact is a Shortcut for a real application "People" (or "Contacts").
If your device is detected as without the necessary standard software (package com.android.contacts) - the application will warn you and will immediately offer uninstall itself (no longer needed).
For all lovers of soft*beer, and for lovers of other soft :-)

This was a fantastic (shortcut?) app. Since update to Lollipop on Oneplus shows almost invisible names (black on very dark blue) . EVEN SETTINGS are grey/on grey! Had to download People+ and that works fine but is unfamiliar and not as powerful for updating my accounts etc.

This has been a fantastic (shortcut?) app. Have just updated my Nexus 7 and it no longer works. I get the message The standard package "com.android.contacts is not found on your device". Had to download People+ and that works fine but is unfamiliar and not as powerful for updating my accounts etc.
