Green Button Conservation

The GreenButton Conservation app shows how data from the GreenButton system along with temperature histories can be used by homeowners to improve their energy usage. The app compares actual electricity usage versus predictions of a model based on previous energy usage. The predictions are from on a hour-by-hour model which considers the homeowner's activities during the day and outdoor temperatures.

By comparing the homeowner's typical patterns versus actual usage, the homeowner can assess the effectiveness of energy saving strategies such as opening windows, lifestyle changes, adding insulation, etc.
