I just installed this app & Everytime I've tried to open it, the app F/C's. What's the point if I can't see any of the articles? The 1 ???? isn't because I hated it, I never got a chance to even view it. °>

Last update turned back on unwanted forced notifications in it's settings. Immediate uninstall.

I was surprised to find out that "The Tennessean" is a part of USA Today. I wonder how long that has been the case. My parents had lived in the N'Ville and Smyrna areas for almost 20 years and they've been living out of TN for 9 years. Mom would often mail me wonderful articles from The Tennessean. It seems to be a piece of liberal junk that really has sunk. I am sure she wouldn't have anything of value to send me now. ???? Thank God I got to enjoy those "good" years.

25 free stories to read? Get real! Why do you keep trying to charge for your app? I can get USA Today for free and it's basically the same since they own The Tennessean.

This app is great except for one simple thing that frustrates me. Finding information about my subscription so I can edit it is like entering a maze and hitting a dead end. I tried every button listed and I still haven't found it. I guess I need to call.

The App will not click thru on links provided consistently... ALSO, I was asked "Are you enjoying the app?" clicked 'no' and it DIDN'T offer me the chance to review it.. If you click yes, you can review it... Seriously?

Functionality is good if you are a subscriber. Improved a lot in the past year or so.

Works perfectly. You get what you pay for. Rely on free news and you get biased crap. If you value the information you put into your head then pay for it. Well written broad coverage.

Can't do any account maintenance

Don't waste your time with this app if you don't subscribe to the Tennessean. When you click on an article it gives you the first 2 or 3 sentences then asks you to pay $7.99 for a subscription to unlock the rest of the article. There has to be a better way to get local news. I get national news free through my Fox News app. Why can't I get free local news from an app?

I just reinstalled this app after getting a new phone and they now want $7.99 a month to read their horribly written stories. Not gonna happen... about to free up some space on my phone when I delete this junk in 3.. 2.. 1..

Now they make you pay for a subscription to read any of the stories. They should have based revenue on traffic and adds. Now back to Flipboard.

This is of course my favorite news reader for what is going on in our "Great Country" and in "Tennessee"!!!

News is great

As a subscriber, I expect my email links to open in the app but they do not. They open in my browser. Today, when I logged in, it gave me options for installing a new app for Print News. I did, select an article in my email, it opens in my browser. Thr fact that I didn't set a default for this action makes no difference. Plus the Print version of the Tennessean can't be read since the image doesn't resolve; it opens blurry and stays that way.

I agree with those other reviewers who point out the greed of a $7.99 monthly subscription. Two things: first, I really don't mind commercial exploitation of news and do, in fact reward app developers by paying their fees (one time), but a monthly payment that exorbitant for something I can get for free online? Come on, really? ; second, did not the NY Times prove this idea of holding news hostage is NOT a workable business model? Get with the times.

Since the latest update, every time I try to open an article it takes me to a Web page that says, "I hope you've enjoyed your complementary access. Please subscribe or activate your online access." I'm a subscriber with online access and logged in as such. If I click the link to activate, it tells me I'm all ready activated but doesn't take me to the article. It's a never- ending loop of frustration.

Needs to have ability to manage temporary stops from phone.. Stupid that we can't from the app. Account management is more than logging out and that's the only function I find under it. Not seeing anything except window dressing new..

Used to be OK. Changed and is terrible.

I get paying for premium features on apps that matter, but a news app? I'll get my news from a source that doesn't try to gouge the public, thanks. Greedy assholes.

This app would be great if only it worked. For the first few days it was fine. Now every time I try to open the app it crashes. Don't waste the download.

Thank you for fixing this major bug. 8 months is really entirely too long for it to have stuck around, though.

I downloaded this n was excited about using it. Every time I get a notification n I try to open the app it want open. It says the Tennessean has stopped. If u can't open it then what's the use of having it. I am deleting the app !!!!!

If this can't be fixed app crashes everytime i try to log on I got it specifically for my tablet if you can't fix it I want my $29 refund back

Used to work fine. Now it will crash without fail when you try to read any breaking news alert.

Everytime I'm notified of a headline and click on it, I receive the following message 'this App has stopped working, notify/retry?'...Frustrating.

Lately this app crashs multiple times a day. Sometimes when opening sometimes when bringing up a story. Some stories crash it every time. Considering that I read the paper almost exclusively with the app and the company is so unresponsive to the bugs I'm questioning the value of a subscription.

Crashes on every notification. If you can't get the info from the headline, you are out of luck. It's been this way on two different phones.
