IndyStar for Android
same news is available for free from other sources. Why pay $7.99 per month. Save your space unless you're willing to subscribe. Crazy high price for an electronic news source that is just an extension of USA Today. Hard to find balanced news reporting when one company owns so many. No thanks.
The app won't remember log in so I can only read the headlines despite being a subscriber. Brutal
Can't read more than a story without it crashing
Can't read anything now. I've had the app for a decade and will now delete as it has no value since you have to subscribe to read anything. Not only will they not get my money they will lose my clicks for selling ads
It's the worst. Takes forever to try and read a story . App keeps freezing. The worst
Works well. The interface is easy to navigate. Allows for a few articles from other newspapers, if you set it up. Would be 5 stars if it allowed you to view the comments on the articles. For that reason alone, I view my news on the website instead most of the time.
Notification alerts need option to disable vibration. Every other app out there allows you to use sound or vibration.
Having to pay to read every single article. No point in having the app anymore. I'm deleting it now.
I understand having restricted access for non subscribers, but restrictions EVERYTHING? It's a bit much.
Changing to pay to read? Dumb
Now a subscriprion to read in app articles??
Why do you suddenly want to charge me 7.99 to read the full articles?
$4.99 for a whole year and access to about 100 local papers across the country .
Just updated, now it requires subscription.
$7.99.........nope.
The app does not allow you to either read or write comments about published articles.
Navigation in the app is terrible. I wanted to make sure it was getting the same articles that appeared in the paper. So I had a paper with me as I went through the app. I think it would be much easier to peruse the app like you peruse the paper. The articles should be listed by front page, Etc. Took advantage of the Labor Day promotion for the subscription, very satisfied.
This has been a wonderful thing for me. Since moving out of the city it has been a hassle to have my paper delivered. This way I keep up with the news and also get breaking news.
The app has decent layout and scrolls well, but its good features are buried under the hyper-annoying notifications. I selected "Breaking News" only, so I wouldn't be interrupted by sports, entertainment, etc. and would just hear of urgent matters. But apparently "Breaking News" includes closing restaurants, political editorials, and extra tidbits I should have appreciated about a sports TV commercial. I just wanted to know about government shutdowns and terrorist attacks, but I'm getting updates on The Bachelor.
I love the Indy Star whether in real paper or on my phone! It's a real Newspaper!
I use to be a paperboy for the Star! Good times!
Have to subscribe to read the news. Deleted.
Please let me opt out
Would like to message Robin Miller
Don't know
App will not open. Uninstalled then reinstalled and still won't open.
Breaking news notice should be IMPORTANT to the public not sensational. Too much sensation to interrupt my day. Wish it more newsworthy. I look when an alert comes but mostly feel like am in a "crying-wolf" game. Indystar please be better!
I was unable to update account information and control home delivery from this app. Also missing local content found in paper version such as sports on TV. Notifications for breaking news are worthless.
It doesn't talk to the rest of the phone. For example, if I am shown a link from my email that is from the Indystar, the link takes me to their webpage. The webpage asks to install the app (Which I already have) and will ask me to login even if I just did yesterday. Also since I have the app it should take me to the story in the app not the webpage. Especially since I'm already login to the app.
I want to be able to use the app to report when my newspaper is not delivered or delivered late. Additionally, I'd like to be able to vacation stop requests and manage my bills through it. As a news app, it's fine, but it should integrate more into my billing account
I am a subscriber, however I can't access half of the content. I am redirected to a "log in" page every time I try to get into locked content, meant for subscribers only. I am already logged in on the app, and I am unable to view most of the content.
Best app for indy
App functions better now. However, the new interface uses up way too much screen space with big blocks for each article with no ability to modify the presentation. I just want a list of topics that I can quickly scan before selecting.
All this update did was dress up the same old pig in a new dress. The developers continue to ignore the numerous requests from users for the same Facebook comments capability that is offered on the Star's main site. Why is it that other news sites are able to do this with their apps but Gannett can't? I have emailed the developer numerous times and they have never bothered to reply once.
Since the most recent update it seems that one-third of the content won't display. You can surely do better. If not, I'll let someone else try.
Why get old news when you can get updated news on other sites
Not a single story from the current day's paper...
App is very similar to the mobile site. The biggest difference is that you can't read or write comments on the articles. Overall, pretty easy to use and navigate.
Not good, opening articles a chore. Most often not opening.

How to search? How to sign in? All I get is subscription ad and I'm already paying for a subscription. Boo.
