Black Library Audio

The app has worked well for me. I have only had a couple instances where the playback skipped around a bit. Like a lot of the previous reviews, I was disappointed that there was no link to previous bought items from the main Black Library site. Though this is not a deal breaker for me. I just finished going through the complete Eisenhorn series on the app and was happy with the how everything worked. On a side note the Eisenhorn series is one of the best from Black Library. I have read the books multiple times and this was the first time going through the audio books. Highly recommend the series. I have noticed you tend to get a better deal on the audio books and audio dramas from the app over the the main site. A definite plus in my book.

Good but could be better. Stops every time I get a notification when no other audio app does this. Doesn't display audio details on any car I drive. Have to wait till I stop to re start where app paused. Would love better functionality of app while driving for Toyota link systems or Android auto play. Great foe long drives. Subscription based would be much better as I'd pay 200 a year, rather then 50 a book...way to pricey to buy more then a few books.

I love all the 40k audiobooks from the black library and am very happy that I can now get them on my phone. It does also go back to earlier chapters after every time you leave the app. The audiobooks are very expensive and I think if you can buy some of the books in packs or have a sale every now and again it will really incourage users to buy more books. But most importantly you need to be able to connect a pre-existing black library account to the app!

Fix Xenos chapter menu and ill raise the rating. I love a lot of GWs books, if its written by dan Abnet its probably one of the best books out there. I picked this up because i wanted to listen to Xenos, and so i purchased the book ( funny enough the pricing is screwed up, charging 40 on the site, listed for 32 on the app and actually 36 when you buy it on the app.

You guys should be ashamed to have this app with your name on it. No link to correct accounts. Inexcusable. Complete lack of commitment to your customers. You don't even answer the online complaints. Over priced books and the player is less than basic. Your content is best on the planet so fix this app. Heresy

lots of flaws but it is the only way to get black library books. I'm sure it will improve over time, but currently it loses my sport everytime I stop. It stops playing if another sound plays (like a notification) etc. That's not even mentioning the features it is missing like playback at faster speeds, simpler controls for driving or even voice control. Audible is a way better app, but they don't have this content.

I love this app! But it is only getting 3 stars from me because there are no options in it and I can only download books if I am connected to Wi-Fi regardless of the fact I am connected to the internet by my phone data. So I can't easily download a book while on the road.

Not sure why all the negative reviews, I love getting to listen to the Beast Arises, convenient and easy. , It might need to take some cues from Audible like being able to ignore notifications, I hate my book stopping every time I get a text or email but it's not a deal breaker

Probably the worst program I've ever used. Riddled by constant crashes and the inability to download your purchase unless connected to WiFi. Even when connected to WiFi I am still getting the same error. Don't waste your money.

I quite like the app. I haven't had too many problems as of yet. My biggest issue is that it does not detect .epub files on your device that weren't purchased through the app. I'd really be great if you guys were to add a wishlist function, so that I can keep track of what I to listen to next!

Very disappointed. If I purchase a product at full Black Library prices I expect to be able to listen anywhere on any device. The fact I have to use the app means I have wasted my money and will not be buying from you again. You are nothing more than thieves.

Love having audio books wherever I go, though the apo desperately needs the following: 1) to stop force opening when not in use. 2) to improve the pause feature. It's very frustrating to cycle through a 10 hour book trying to find the chapter that you left off in 3) THE MAIN ONE - app needs to be movable from internal storage to SD Card as it's taking up too much space

UNBELIEVABLE... for what the GW charges for the price of audio books this app should be well polished but it's more like an Alpha, with no ability to choose to download over WiFi, no ability to link to an actual library account and Oh did I mention the price of their content...

Shattered legion on this app, 42 bucks. Shattered Legion on audible, 21 bucks. Kills battery like mad.... from playing audio.... Audio dramas are cool but thats about it. Get the books on audible, save money and battery life.

I think it's okay. I'd like them to add more of the books here but it's pretty good. My only real complaint is the amount if battery life it consumes even with the screen off.

I would like support with my issues with this product. I love the books. This app needs help. CRUSADE + OTHER STORIES. 3 OF the story's won't play. A sanctuary of worms. Howl of the banished. Red and black. Please help. Had a note 4. Now I have a LGv20. This happens on both.

This App is awful. So basic and buggy. Has none of the features that Audible has. This is no reflection on the audio books themselves. Just the app.

The layout itself and the general feel of the app is fine, but good God man are the books overpriced. £30 for horus rising when Amazon have the paperback for less than £10? I dont think so... Thoroughly disappointed, lower your prices to be a tad more realistic level and I may consider using app, till then it shall remain uninsulated.

this app is completely garbage, avoid it all cost 40k audio goers. the reason why? you pay FULL PRICE for everything in their catalog, only to find you dont get the same .mp4 file you could do whatever you want with had you bought the exact same thing from their website. oh no. because you used the app. your mistake. now you getting an invisible non-file that you cant access, cant move to other devices, they can remove your access at any time in the future. thats right. YOU RENTED IT. for full price. its the exact same scheme Microsoft tried to pull leading into the launch of the XBONE. that and their always online cameras. how well did renting the things your supposed to own work out for them? yeah. it was a disaster. like this app!

I really liked this app; it helps listening to Gaunt's Ghosts fight against impossible odds while I work out. If I were to suggest anything, it would be to not only search by AoS, 40K, or Horus Heresy, but to be able to search by army, and list the books where the army is one of the major forces in the book... i.e. IG (or Astra Militarum) and Renegade IG showing up for Salvation's Reach.

This app is far from stable. Fix the bugs so you have a reliable foundation, gradually add features over time (no shame in looking at Audible), and this app will greatly improve warhammer's audiobook experience. (and suck all the money out of my wallet)

The worst part of this app is the lack of account integration.This means if you buy something in app it will not sync to your black library account. So any and all content bought in app stays in app.

Great, one big annoyance though is if I get a message while a book is playing it pauses forcing me to hit play on my device again. Would usually lead to a worse review but the remainder of the app works and feels great. P.s. it pauses while on Bluetooth connection to car have yet to test to see if this happens under normal circumstances. Another grievance, is that there is no linking between the web platform and the audio app. I would really love to drop another star because of this. But don't feel like the rest of the app should suffer because of this criticism. It is frankly ridiculous though. Is it really that difficult to hookup an api call to sync the content id's of two platforms?

Good App for Black Library Books, too bad I can't upload books that I previously downloaded through the website and end up being double charged for the same book.

Wouldn't give me the option to sign into my account. I don't feel like paying for an audio drama I already own!

Fix the stupid app. Let me use my data to download the books.... Good grief......

The app doesn't allow you to listen to audio books you have purchased from the black library website. Only ones you purchase in the app itself. Given the extensive library that most users probably already have, it makes the app useless. A massive miss. Deleting the app until that is resolved.

Typical Games workshop fashion, lack of communication. I'D LIKE TO KNOW BEFORE I SPEND MONEY, I HAVE TO HAVE WIFI TO USE WHAT I PURCHASED. THIS IS WHY I PIRATE YOUR BOOKS. SICK OF THE LIMEY COMPANIES BEING SUCH TYPICAL ARROGANT BRITS WITH THEIR CUSTOMERS!!!!!!

I dont know what GW was thinking when they made this horribel app. Overpriced books, books wont download or freeze and then start over from the begining.

App errors out after a few mins, needs update for new android version, no way to link accounts.

Downloads are not allowed over mobile data. This was frustrating while traveling.

The books are amazing but i have no time to read them and GW exploits this there prices are extortion so now i scower the internet for people sharing there books for free id happily pay £10 for a book but £30 who on earth comes up with these prices most expensive books on the planet.

Hi guys really love this app and the stories so glad I came across and hope you keep up the great work, but the only problem I am having is very big battery drain, hope this could get fixed so I can listen to more stories :)

I have a membership with Audible and own over 200 audio books. The Warhammer 40K universe is one of my all time favorite Sci-fi themes. Unfortunately, though for reasons unknown to me, the Black Library refuses to market their audio books on their site. With the Black Library charging $35 or more on average for each audio book the price remains way too high for me to commit to a purchase. On a side note, I have noticed that they do not market their E-books in the Kindle Store either. Also, the prices on the Black Library store seem to be abnormally inflated in comparison to other online companies. I am the type of customer that prefers to keep things simple, so I generally only purchase digital content from only 1 source. That way I don't have to manage multiple programs or worry about compatibility. With the huge marketing potential within the 2 methods of distribution I frequent ignored by GW, it leaves me wondering if they are making a smart business decision. I would assume that making this form of entertainment as available as possible to customers through multiple distribution mediums would have a higher potential of drawing customers in to immersing themselves within the Warhammer Universe and leading them to try other things within the Warhammer franchise like the table top games. Unfortunately with the shortsighted decisions GW has made I am left with hunting within local used book stores to satisfy my love of the Warhammer literature for the foreseeable future since I am on a budget.

Glad to be able to get Audiobooks quicker but needs to be linked to existing Black Library account so I can listen to previously pre-app purchases from the website.

If I can't sign in to my account and sync previous purchases, well there's not much point to having this app, is there?

Everytime I get a notification on my phone the audio stops, it's annoying.

Terrible skips all the time and cuts my phone off

Good but....UI needs more development essentially make into a mirror or Audible and its functions. Then you will have the perfect player.

Works great on my Xperia XA. Only complaints are that it needs to link to books bought from Black Library website and needs to have an option to save to SD card.
