A Soft Murmur

Helps me concentrate; helps me sleep. For years I was wasting my data allowance on white noise from YouTube. For anyone who doesn't know, the creator is just some guy who likes ambient noise - this project was his first attempt at coding! I gladly paid the £1.49 for the extra sounds, but I could've survived without them. They're really excellent (the fire is a winner) but I just wanted to contribute and recognise this man's work. 6/5!!!

Really relaxing and calming. I use it when i want to concentrate, for example when writing. But i would prefer the thunder fully separate - not accompanied by rain - as you can mix in the rain anyway. And an icon to get to your mixes, so you dont need to use the drop down menu

Love the app. But after doing a recent factory reset (Samsung S5) the app turns itself off during the night. When I wake up, the app is still open, but all the volume sliders are down and it's not playing. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Teleport to a monastery by the sea, watching an incoming thunderstorm. I've been through over 20 ambient sounds websites, and this is easily the best. I stay in an area where street chatter can be distracting and this really helps you concentrate. In this app, the interface is delightful, and it has some really unique sounds to offer (the singing bowls being the best of them).The fade out feature is also much appreciated. Overall, the app is good both to study and to go to sleep. The rain sounds can be made more distinguishable from the white noise, though. Perhaps it'll sound better if the recording is of a drizzle.

Overall amazing app to be used while studying. A few bugs though at least on android 7.1.1. On Bluetooth, sometimes the audio completely stops playing playing when there is another source of sound despite having greedy audio enabled. Might need a small update and patch but otherwise working great.

I can't sleep without some sort of noise. I used to run a box fan all night, but I got sick doing that. Now I just turn on my custom thunderstorm mix and I'm off to dreamland! Also great for meditation. One of the few apps I've upgraded to premium!

Pros: I have used the Web version for a few years now. It's great for reading, sleeping or working, to drown out background sound whilst being relaxing at the same time. Cons: The app tries to sell you more sounds, yet if you go to the website you can play them for free! Absolutely no benefit (that I can see) for paying for them in the app version.

Great! Suggestions: Meander mode should be possible to combine with timers, at the very least the delayed start/stop. Logarithmic fade out (slow at first, accelerating by the end) is a must. Short samples or a YouTube preview of the premium sounds would be nice, too.

In his video Jack talked about this website and I thought I would give it a try. It's amazing, it helps me relax so much. I am always stressed but this just washes it away for that moment.

Does what it does, except with a huge flaw... So I bought the extra package and it does what it says, not complaining about the UI because it's spot on. My biggest issue is this... The sound itself stutters in unpredictable times which ruins the atmosphere, if there was an update to this where you can download the tracks that would be great. Maybe they are already downloaded and I don't know that, either way, something needs to be fixed about this because it just renders the app unpredictable and useless. I would really love to use this while I'm studying or taking my walks. Either way, awesome app, just suffers from that fatal flaw...

Fantastic! I use it at work to drown out my co-workers​ when I need to concentrate. Any plans to add a fan sound loop?

This has really helped me, but there are times when the sound just stops. It's annoying when it does that, especially when I'm trying to block out noises around me to try and concentrate. I don't think it's an issue on my end.

I paid for this app but now it suddenly stopped working right. The sounds no longer blend at all and half of them don't even work.

It helps me with my sleep and even with my anxiety! I love it

I love this app, I use it when I'm Dungeon Mastering a game and my players have loved it because it really helps set the mood with sounds, it would be nice if there were more sounds, like maybe dripping water or a running river (maybe footsteps). I know that's not its intended use but it would still be cool.

The only thing to make this app better would be to have the option of selecting my own audio track to work in the program. I have a lot of calming music that would go great with this :)

It's small, and there are relatively few sounds, but that's what I like. You're free to customize it however you like. And it's helped me relax whenever I get anxious.

I love this app and absolutely adore the sounds. I found it when it hit the Front Page of Imgur the other day. I have used it every day since. As a person with anxiety this helps me so much. I do wish that you could 'meander' while the timer was on though, and I also wish the thunder sound was unaccompanied by the sound of rain. It would be possible to still create a thunder storm sound if you wanted it, but I would love just the thunder sound alone. Thanks!

For the longest time I struggled to go to sleep and most sleep sound tracks were not right for me. But this...this is customizable and unlike anything else. Ive been using this app religiously every night when I go to bed and I sleep like a baby. All the features are relevant and innovative and every sound is beautiful. Thank you so much to the developers for all of the relaxing sleeps I've had with this app and all the rest to come.

I love this app completely!! I do wish you could just have the thunder sound by itself. I also think it would be cool if you added a "passing cars" sound if you wanted to give the feeling of walking down the street on a rainy day. Or if the wind had a more whispy sound. But I'm very picky about things lol but all over all I give it a 9.8/10

I have been looking for a storm sound app with this feature to replace an old one that no longer worked on an old iOS device I have. Unlike other storm apps, on this one there's no predicable audio, since the sound intensities change, you never hear the same storm twice! There is a timer, but it doesnt work in meander mode. If this was fixed, it would be absolutely perfect and would earn its fifth star.

I love the sounds and it really calms me through activities is such as homework but I am annoyed by the fact that you want to make us pay for the six extra sounds when I could get them for no extra cost on your website. This seems pointless to me besides a way to make a pound off of a few people. Anyway great app, love the fire

Best app of its kind I've found so far. Disappointing to see how many people are sore and downrating over $1.49 for a few extra sounds - that's less than you'd pay for a decent cup of coffee you ungrateful d¡ckheads. God forbid the guy who MADE this thing for your lazy, greedy a$$ would ask for a small concession in return.

Very easy to use. Nominal cost to have access to all the sounds and features. It is nice to be able to mix a soundscape and save it for later use. Great alternative to music playlists that may have commercials or just bad flow. Would love to see more sound options: rustling leaves, wind chimes (bamboo, metal, glass, etc.), water fountain, gurgling brook, rain on water, etc.

This app is what makes 2016 worth again! Whenever I wanna combine any sound with the wind sound, it starts to stutter and squeak. It happens with any combination (rain-wind, thunder-wind, waves-wind). Disabling one of the two usually restores this stuttering and squeaking again. Wind on its own works perfectly, however.

Love the UI but there are a couple sound tracks I'd want to see in the paid version that aren't offered. Singing / croaking toads and occasional street traffic / road noise. In addition, the crickets sound track -- available online -- is really weak / lame. Beyond that, I have little use for most of the sound tracks that are offered, as they're much too fatiguing.

This changed my life, lol. I used youtube for my fix 'till I accidentally stumbled upon this badboy. I agree with many of the complaints but none of them are worth rating this app less than a 5. Fu.. yeah!

Absolutely loving thus app! I will buy the add ons and i hope even more will be available to purchase in the future such as frogs and wind chimes and maybe even the sound of a fan or a grandfather clock ticking! I would pay $20 for more sounds

Website worked flawlessly but the app on my Sony Z5 doesn't mix properly at all. Sometimes only one sound will play. Audio stutters when changing volume. Sounds set to 0 will constantly play. I even preemptively bought the extra sounds because the website version was really nice. I guess I'll go back to the website until this is fixed.

I purchased (unlocked) the additional sounds to support the developer. App is very clean and the natural sound options are great. Very relaxing and realistic. The app icon stays on top even after I close it. Must be a bug. I hope the developer fixes this issue. Other than that I love this app.

I use Bluetooth earphones, I'm not sure if muting the app on the lock screen drains my battery. Could this be replaced by a pause/play button if that is the case? Thank-You

The app is nice, however if you have internet you might as well use the website based one so you have access to the other noises, since the app puts those behind a pay wall. Additionally, its frustrating that just swiping the app tile away doesn't fully close the app, you have to go to the app to stop it or the drag down menu.

I adore this app. It helps me relax, focus, sleep, and think. But I don't understand why, when I set the timer, I can't set the sounds to randomize volumes. If that were to become a feature, this app would get 5 stars.

Kind of "meh". The individual sounds are very nice but I never managed to have more than one sound mixed together. For example - when turning on the rain, app will silent all the other sounds. Same for every other sound.

While listening, it will start to sound like its skipping, or becoming really distorted. If I dont wake my phone up by unlocking the screen quickly, it with just keep making that terrible sound and freeze my phone up. i have to yank my battery out to get it to stop and reboot my phone. Other than that, good app

I have been using the internet version of this, and I thought that getting it on my phone wpuld be great for when I didn't have a phone. However hidinh some of the sounds behind a paywall is a little ridiculous, especially when all of the sounds are free online.

I really don't understand why some voices require money to unlock while we can reach all on the website. I mean they're not unreachable. I just wanted the sounds on my phone. Why do you charge me for that...
