DFX Music Player Enhancer Pro for Android
This isn't a add on sound enhancer like it is if you have it for your PC compter. It's a player with the dfx technology. It sounds pretty good but the interface is terrible. It's in need of an update. If I had known that it was only a player I would not have bought it. Sure it was only $2.99 so I guess it won't break my bank but I should have paid more attention to the reviews. Get PowerAmp if you want a very good music player.
Omg, changes everything. What a Titanic - Gigantic difference. Never bought headphones, sound is ugly for music. Now I will buy the best Money will buy. Just using phones speakers and hearing the Absolutely awesome depth and mix of treble and base and surround sound is incredible. Amazed of the amazing. Buy, buy, buy. I would pay maybe 50 dollars for this app. Please just try the free version to hear and to be amazed.
Has a fully customizable 8 channel equalizer with good ranges aswell as lots of presets, with also the adjustable sound effect and volume boost enhacers carried over from the PC version. Excellent sound quality. If you want a more advanced music player app with good sound quality, GET THIS! ...The time-out-to-close-app after exit function needs attention though. It isnt immediately closeable by swiping off screen. Could do with an exit option in the drop down menu followed by a yes/no prompt.
There is no off switch. It stays on pause killing my battery. The EQ preset turns off if i don't run the app in the background. The grafhics and interface sucks, and for some reason some of my songs are not shown or cannot be played( .wma and some mp3 format songs)but it shows and plays in other music player apps. Not to mention its not free. Great sound but needs a MAJOR update or my money back.
I have a GS4 with android 4.4.2. Since the recent DFX 1.28 update I am unable to exit the app. I have to do a force stop to close it. Did not have this problem before the update? UPDATE (09/16): New phone Galaxy S7 - same old problem....no way to exit this app other than a force stop or hard restart of phone. Very disappointing, even more so since they have been aware of this defect for many, many, many months and have made no attempt to fix.
The best music app I've used in terms of music effects.. Remaining ones are not even close.. However, it has almost unusable UI. The worst. Moreover, there is no way to close the app. It just remains there consuming battery ( i found a way to end/close it. While dfx player is playing, open another music app and play from that app. Immediately, dfx player closes. Hope this helps other folks)
App sometimes doesn't shut down when I exit (it needs force stop). DFX enhancer button is finicky. Also sometimes the DFX deactivates when I switch songs or albums. And please make it work for streaming music online.
Sound quality is amazing. My only gripe is that it does not display album art/image. Just hoping the Dev will listen to it's users/customers and improve on an otherwise brilliant adio player app.
Cannot tell file type, filename; self load eval. would be nice (flac v battery) sort filetypes to opt mp3 or not, pick alt output...usb otg dac et al...
Apps to play music! What a waste of lots of money! This is by far, my favorite and most recommended. Don't waste your time and money... because this is what you're looking for!REVISION :02/23/17...Initially I thought this was a great app. Today - not so much. Actually - I think it sucks - and much prefer the "stock" player on my current phone, the ZTE Axon 7.
Yes the sound is nice, but its not worth it for the interface. I'd rather listen to default sound on my normal player. Obviously this opinion is widely shared, and it doesn't look like the developer is doing anything about it. Uninstalled
Gets the best sound on the PC, does not work on my selection of Android phones. Shuts down after selecting a track to play. Just look at the other reviewers complaints. What is the problem devs - not been updated since14th NOVEMBER 2014. Wasted my money.
out of the notification bar or the app out of the notification tray without going to settings and manually stopping it. I would give it 5 stars if it worked like all other apps and didn't take up precious notification space after I close it.
There's no reason this has to be a music player. This doesn't work with Spotify at all. 1 star for lack of use outside of your own specific media player. your PC app is great, there's no excuse for this on Android when PC app is so flexible
Awesome sound quality. But the interface is really poorly done. No search? Really? 1000's of songs with no search feature is insulting. Please fix this in the update and I will promote this app.
It works fine with the music that's loaded on my phone with my artists and playlist but it doesn't work when I'm streaming radio. I have this on my computer's at home and it works fine but the version for the phone app only works with the music that's loaded on the phone. Not happy!
Interface needs updating, big time. However, I do love the improvement in sound quality. I have the paid version on both my computers, plus phone and tablet. Devs' need to get on this and not ignore the many paid users who deserve better service.
I submitted the below 4 months ago and you have done nothing. I'd ask for a refund, but I don't think anyone is listening. Was 3 stars, but still waiting for the shut down fix. Is anyone listening? Great sound, but the UI needs attention. Specifically, a simple way to close the app.
The developers must not care, no update in almost a year, despite universal hatred of the pathetic user interface.
This app would easily be 5 stars on my list if it weren't for the UI that really really really needs improvement and work, plus, it needs more functionality, then this app would easily beat any player out there. Nonetheless it works solid on my GS6, overall I never regret the purchase.
I love the DFX sound quality. However, the player shuts off prematurely whenever I start browsing online. Don't know why it does this, but this issue needs to be fixed asap.
I used think PowerAmp was the best mp3 on the market. I EVEN BOUGHT IT HAHA! But i just couldn't get the music screaming loud, the only way i like it. If i turned it up too loud, it would easily distort. I figured it was just my phone, but i couldn't fully accept that thought. Then i remembered downloading DFX on my comp and what it had done for my music then. So i checked the market and there it was, FOR ANDROID, HIP HIP HOORAY! I can't express this enough, DFX is hands down the best player for android.
True "enhancer" of sound and sound effects. Period. It is simply unmatched!! I don't really understand why people have so much gripe for its ordinary unterface. I had no problem. I have been using it in my PC for over a decade now. Very glad to find it for my smartphone. Keep it up, developer buddies !!
I think most of us are spoiled and extremely unappreciative of most developers talents and generosity. We expect absolute perfection for free or near free services. These guys have done a great job. I've tried many other equalizers, and this one sounds best to my ears by a mile. I use it for music and movies.
Having used DFX on my PC for some time, blown away with what it does to the sound quality of most mp3's, I was very very disappointed to see what a useless app this is. The sound quality is phenomenal but what good does it do me when the actual interface is unable to locate songs either on clouds or my computer and is such a nuisance to try to navigate? I wound up not using my favorite Audio Enhancer and that's disappointing. Replace this in basically useless and makes you as the developer look amateurish
The audio quality is astounding. I love it! The issue I have with the app is the UI. It feels like a music player out of 2010. They should really update it. Another issue is that the app wont quit. You have to manually go into the app info settings and force stop it. If they freshen up the app to make it more modern, it'll be 5 stars for sure.
I have used this software on my computer for many years. What a total disappointment to find out that I am unable to even use it with Pandora or any other streaming music program. This is like a ghost of the program which doesn't even have a way to exit. After numerous complaints and all of the evaluations I have read over time, no one seems to care to make even the slightest improvement in the software and how it interacts with the user. Shame on you!
Only awkward control buttons and a lack of artwork stop ne from giving 5 stars. The sound is fabulous. A depth and clarity untouched by any other player. The only gripe I have is the user interface, absolutely shoddy!
Best of the best, ui not all fancied up, but a little more than just plain would be good , the sound incredible, good for any headphone, using on zmax also had on other phones too, sounds incredible , 2nd to none, I mean universal( only real suggestion I have is to be able to hide status bar) I recommend to all worldwide
Not as good as the windows app... The sound quality is reduced dramatically in comparison to the standard Sony media player on my phone. - I have tried playing around with the presets this does not help. The application does not have a search function. - Looking for songs becomes tedious if you have a few songs. The application tends to freeze at random and kills itself.
Only thing is if you pay for the Pro version you would think that you would get a little more of a Player very Blah for the money, as far as the effects superb
This is the third time ive had to pay because i never remember the old google play account when ive switched to new phones. Can i please get one refund?
I want to give this 5 stars, its amazing and i also have it on my pc, so i bought the pro version. But it only gets 3 stars because sometimes the audio tends to stutter. Sometimes a lot, which is really a shame because the audio quality is awesome. Please fix this and ill give it a 5
I love what it does for my music. No more turning up the volume on one song so the next will blow out your speakers. But I would like to search for songs. I wish it had more settings options for my library. But definitely a keeper. I can't wait to give it the 5 stars it deserves.
Why do so many songs say "Unknown Artist"? The metadata in the files is correct, please explain!
What a turn off the lack of folder browsing! Come on guys, it is an easy fix...Sound is really good, so job well done on that side. UPDATE JAN 2016 - Downgrading rating to 1 star as developers disappeared. No updates in more than a year and therefore still no folder browsing.
It keeps running in the background, no way to close it, the only way is: settings, applications, force close. What a shame otherwise good player.
Can't shut it down and VERY POOR controls. Sound quality excellent
My music sounds great with this player, and helps compensate for a damaged speaker in my car. However, the user interface is clunky and outdated. With a UI overhaul this would be one of the best music players out.

The PC version is perfect. Folks at DFX please don't touch it! Android version needs work. In addition to all the other suggestions, please ensure DFX works in Android with YouTube, Pandora, MP4s and ALL audio AND video files. It's limited to only MP3's as it stands. That's a HUGE LIMITATION. It would also be a huge improvement if it could be used for any and all audio coming from my cell phone including voice calls if I so desire it. The PC version can do all the above let's get it for Android
