Tele Education:Audit

Welcome to the Satellite and Advanced Multimedia Education(SAME) project. This is an auditing app for use by Field officers to perform live auditing of schools running under the SAME project of IIM Bangalore. Satellite and Advanced Multimedia Education (SAME) is a versatile satellite learning programme being pursued at IIMB, with aim to provide education to rural villages within the state of Karnataka. The project has been awarded the prestigious World Summit on Information Society (WSIS) 2015 Award by International Telecommunications Union (ITU) and United Nations in Geneva.

The detailed instructions for field officers to use the app are as below:

First select the Taluk in which the survey is to be carried out. Then a dialog box will appear which will give an option to choose the Taluk survey or the School survey. If you are entering your feedback about the Taluk Incharge(TI) then choose Taluk survey. If you are entering your feedback about the School-infrastructure and about the running conditions of the classroom, then choose the School Survey.

Now if you select,

--> Taluk Survey:

Enter your name in the field officer's name field.
Enter the name of Taluk Inchage (TI) whose feedback you are entering in the same name field.
Then appropriately fill yes or no or the required information in the desired fields.
Do not skip any questions.
Add your comments , if any.

-->School Survey:
Select the village in that Taluk .
Choose the School in that village.
Enter your name in the field officer's name field.
Then fill the questionnaire about the infrastructure .
If the device is present in the classroom, make your selection yes , else no.
Similarly fill the details about the running condition of the class.
Don't skip any question.
Add your comments , if any.

Now,when you have entered all the information ,press the menu button.A drop down menu will appear which will have the following 6 options:
1.Save and Continue: If the information entered by you is correct and you want to save this information and move onto next Taluk/School survey, select Save and Continue. This will save the feedback and bring back to the main screen displaying list of Taluks. When you click on this option, a dialog box will pop up asking for validation code to prevent wrong data or unqualified person to enter the data.
2.Save and Exit:If you want to save the feedback and exit from the app, select this.When you click on this option, a dialog box will pop up asking for validation code to prevent wrong data or unqualified person to enter the data.
3. Exit-:This will exit you from the application without saving the data.
4.Continue- If you want to continue with a new survey without saving the data, select this option.
5.Refresh- If by mistake you have filled a wrong answer, you can select Refresh and start filling the survey for the same Taluk/school again.
6.Save and Upload: If the information entered by you is correct and you want to save and sync this data with the server and move onto next Taluk/School survey, select Save and Upload. This will save the feedback, upload the data to the server and bring back to the main screen displaying list of Taluks. When you click on this option, a dialog box will pop up asking for validation code to prevent wrong data or unqualified person to enter the data.

Now, if you do not have internet connection at the time of survey, do not press 'Save and Upload' in the survey menu. Instead use 'Save and Continue' or 'Save and Exit' option. Later when you get the internet connection start the app and select 'Upload Data' option from menu of main screen. This will sync all the offline surveys in that particular phone ,which are not yet uploaded on the server, with the server.
