Flight HUD

This app was made for phones, and that's bad because horizon display is turned 90 degree's to the left and with my tablets' 8megapixel camera it forces images to be shown using really low resolution (fuzzy lo-res images)... :-) and fonts are lo-res, also. Very lo-quality feel on a hi-resoltion tablet! Two years and no updates?

Other than showing you your town's height above Arapahoe and you speed it's prety useless. Still very cool tho! And here's a suggestion, develop cardboard support

Great idea and nice visuals... But can be a bit more engaging the person who uses it... And try taking more samples from the sensors... The whole setup is a bit jittery

Cool... but too shaky. I think it tries to update position too often...needs to have settings to reduce/delay that.

When I launch HUD, it show text init camera error. So its only black and HUD... not work

It's cool but utterly useless unless it can be used with reverse screen mode for the car as a real HUD. Nice to change the colors too. Then I would pay a buck the have it.

Ill give you a buck if you get rid of the ads.

'Does what it says on the tin' - no complaints I've some suggested areas for future development - Looking to use to record / review Aerobatic flights & Off road driving: * *Include option to record the video & HUD for later review * *Ability to calibrate when device fixed in a mount - set 0, or enter values. * *Moving average for pitch / roll, as previously suggested, to remove jitter. * *Include value for roll * *Add 'g' meter * *Set pitch / roll / g limits - changes colour of OSD? * *Add max value markers to be held for 'x' seconds & total session * *Option to include Lat / Long info on display * *Option to save info, with video time stamp, to external file - KML format or simple CSV? - at regular time intervals or when Pitch / Roll outside user defined boundaries.... Would be happy to pay for the app as soon as video save option is implemented and adds removed. .

Don't let this fall into the hands of the Iranians or the North Koreans!

Would be significantly improved by inclusion of some sort of filtering of sensors. Moving average or something more intelligent would help. Also menu to enable GPS sensor doesn't take you to where you enable GPS (at least on an HTC one x) Quite jittery! Otherwise pretty good.

Nice app, good idea. A great improvement would be enabling orientation to adapt to phone or tab position, as nearly all apps do. This would allow for e.g. a convenient position for the car charger to be plugged in.

As far as phone toys go, it's quite a good idea!

I am a former military pilot and we all know a real HUD is projected from the emitter onto either the aircraft's windscreen or a glass reflector right in front of the windscreen, not implemented as a direct display. That's the point--to provide tactical data without obscuring the pilot's view through the windscreen. This would be a great night time driving aid if you could allow for a mirror image display so that setting the phone on the dash would project the proper display onto the windshield. As it is, everything's backwards and virtually unreadable. Still, I love the clean interface. I'd pay a couple bucks for this so ditch the ads too.

Not all that bad of an app but it would be cooler if it would detect vehicles instead of faces.

The interface looks great..like a plane..would be even better if there was an option to show the inverted view like a real HUD, instead of using the camera..then it'll be 5 stars

On Samsung tablet 10.1 Horizon is 90 degrees off... Can not seem to adjust...

Needs ability to change units. Currently only metric.

Kind of one of those useless apps. It keeps going in & out of focus, & doesn't recognize faces. How did it get 3 stars if I'm the first to rate it?!

This app is a lot of fun, especially when you have a windshield mount in your car. Don't let it distract you to much, you could wreck or even get killed! I let the passengers enjoy it!

camera opens up, but then, the pitch ladder/horizontal indicator does not work in tune with my phone's G-sensor.

It's fun for a good imagination but my face recognition won't activate and lock onto faces. Help?
