MathScript Scientific Calc for Android
Won't install!
This app doesn't seem to be supported any more, while it had great potential....it doesn't install right as the URL it points to for packages it tries to install are out of date.
HowcanIuninstallit?
It’s a pity than in android world such program is allowed to be sold to the unsuspecting public. It is a total waste of money.
I already bought this f*cking app, and now its telling me i dont have a valid license, i sent an email weeks ago and still no reply
Display issue fixed at last update much better. Great tool
If Wolfram would get their heads out of the "cloud"s, this is probably what they'd come up with.
I would gladly pay $5+ for having this work on a tablet more efficiently than it currently does. I have created a few functions on this program already but it has been somewhat difficult. The small screen space for typing in formulas and what not is limited to six lines at the most. With an 8inch tablet there is plenty of screen space that is not being utilized, and would love more personalization.
I am impressed with the responsiveness with which Think Tank has fixed with version 3 a ridiculous problem that kept an otherwise impressive math app from opening. I am giving them 4 stars and 5 in the future if the opening.problem is permanently fixed.
message show every time Require{AMSmath} rightarrow 4 you are too much bad with your app. my mobile samsung galaxy s2 v 4.0.3 you are thief
Originally the app force closed when launched, however, the developers appear to have resolved that bug. So far the app is working as advertised and is a very impressive CAS for a phone. Great job!
Doesn't display results clearly. Solver doesn't work, just shows an error. Why can't pocketcas come to android?
A lot of functionality for the price. A cleaner UI might help on smaller devices, but really good for tablets
I got this tablet and I have paid for the full version of Mathscript, which was almost there, last time I used it. It needed work with multidimensional plotting. Maybe should have some more tools for programming our own scientific visualization plotting functions. Anyhow, on my new tablet, where I hope to use it more (a phone screen is just a tad too small) I have not been able to run it. I'm running android 4.0 (Ice cream sandwich). The app starts up and tells me it's loading and then conks out. I'm going to try and update it again and see if that fixes it. What I love about this app are: 1. It uses Sympy at it's lowest level (very cool to use python, a standard). 2. The function calls are mapped to keys on the screen, which makes programming a full scripting language like programming a programmable calculator. This is a GREAT feature. I was able to program a simple test app without remembering any of my python or anything....just intuitively used the buttons and voila....great stuff. 3. Has some plotting that is very nice. Last time I looked it didn't have proper 3D plotting, but did have a visualization function that would work for 3D data. Enjoy -D
This is ridiculous!! I want my money back! I opened the app once and it worked until I had to reopen it which at that point it failed and failed again. Very upset and disappointed!! Never again with my money "Think Tank." I'm very serious about wanting my money back as well. Galaxy Nexus.
Remove it. Doesn't work.
worked for a day. Now, all it does is crash when I try to open it.
Gave it 3 satrs it did work now it doesn't.
Still crashes on asus tablet
Doesnt work on my samsung galaxy sII epic 4g touch from sprint... Refunding until i know it works because this program looks awesome
This app is a wrapper around the sympy library, and it exposes a large volume of very useful functionality with a decent interface. I find it very handy for quick algebra and analysis, and the ODE solver is good (no initial value or boundary conditions yet, though). It needs some UI tweaks and better documentation, hence the 4/5, but overall I am very happy with the paid version.
unfortunately the app force closes upon init 9 out of 10 times and it needs some form of re-activation every now and then, very cumbersome. - sparse feedback from dev - force closes *very* often - pretty-print does not work - no updates!
It doesn't initialize in Galaxy S2. It begins to initialize base engine and force closes. I sent an e-mail to the developers. They didn't reply. But the few times it worked have shown a very interesting application.
This app is equivalent to Mathematica for your android. Also, brilliant for those who want an intro to Python and have an interest in physics/maths.
This app is fascinating. It is difficult to learn to use- the demands are great. But the rewards make it worth it. It is extremely powerful and comprehensive. It requires one to think logically. It reminds me of working with Maxima on my Ubuntu operating system. I have since moved on to a Chromebook and a Nexus 7. On the Chromebook, I use GeoGebra.. On the Nexus 7, I like Math Studio which is great, but a bit pricey. MathScript may be an affordable alternative. Most importantly, however, it is fun to learn how to use it. It takes you closer to the operation of the machine, and makes you program your solutions with care. Good luck to the developers on advancing this exciting app.
I thought this was the answer, the screen shot shows the problem I was working on. –b+sqrtb^2-4ac/2a. Thought it would be simple. On Mathlab Cal I would input x^2+5x+6=0 and I would get a quick -2,-3. With this app I can’t even figure out how to write x^2 it doesn’t have a power symbol or button. It probably does but I can’t figure it out. Seems like a really cool app but I’m trying to find an app that can solve x^2+2x-4=0 giving me -1(+or -)sqrt 5 and not some decimal number. I thought this was it, but I can’t figure out how to get to that point.
I love the shear powerof this affordable app. The only problem I have with it is the answer display system . The JsMath system only displays the answer for a short time before it disappears. With the results window not working, it is hard to read the solutions. I have to set it to display the solutions as plain text, which for more complicated solutions makes for some difficult reading. Change that and I would mark this as a five star app. Even as is it is a better value than all others I have tried!
This a great app but with a steep learning curve. Doesn't seem to play nicely with Asus transformer built in keyboard.
Its a very comprehensive and compact software. Looking forward for more add on updates. Seems like 'think tank' is trying to keep up their promises...
..or as close as you will get.
... I like it!, it is very interesting
Great computational power in the palm of my hand!
It works now.
It always giving a strange result: /Require{AMSmath}...
Excellent program
Great app in such a small size
Loads well on my Android and is very powerful. Earlier problems are fixed. Well worth the time spent to learn its user interface.
I have been looking for maths software that would allow me to compute electronics calculations or formula this software does just that below is sample program that I tested this software with Print '555 timer Astable' R = 100000 C = 100.0/1000000 t = 1.1 * R*C Print R,' Ohms' Print C,' uFarads' print 'time = ', t,' Sec' print 'time = ',t/60,' Min' print 'time =',t/(60*60),' Hours' Now press apply from software menu pad to compute time
Does not work on Galaxy S II
