It's okay despite the advertisements. I would pay to remove them but what I really want removed is the mistakes i.e. completly wrong pronunciations making a different word than you think you are learning and wrong kanji characters sometimes. Please fix it and I will pay/buy the Japanese, Turkish and Italian apps! :) If you need help then respond and I will tell you where the mistakes are.

This is a great app with a nice user interface. I would have given it a 5 if there are no pronunciation/kana/definition mistakes. For example, 髪結い is pronounced as kaminui instead of kamiyui. Fix these mistakes as they are very annoying, and has the potential to hurt the learners.

Love it! Really helps me study, the support team is also very nice, they helped me out when I was having problems after I bought the premium version. However, there is just one problem, the app hangs whenever I go back to the menu. Please fix it and it will make this app the best app ever.

Very annoying ads that disguise themselves as a page flip in the app learning material. Yech!! Play button almost on ad at bottom. Refuse to pay as cannot choose to place large data set out on FAST external SD Card where such voice and image files belong. Tell me that if I Pay we at least get THAT option on Android Marshmallow via APK XML manifest file !!

I spent two minutes with this app and found an error. 'Month' was translated as 'tsuki' which means 'moon', it has the same kanji 月 but 'month' is 'getsu' or 'gatsu'. This is one of the first Kanji you learn and is the building block for many other words, to get this wrong is inexcusable. I can't use this app because I could learn the wrong words. It is a shame because the interface was really nice and I am disappointed I could not use it. Uninstalled.

I've just retried this app one year later and it still has mistakes. Some of the kanji are wrong, and some of the romaji is wrong. Basically you could be learning wrong words. I don't have time to double check every single word. They should bite the bullet, pay a Japanese person to go through the entire deck and fix all the mistakes. This app could be brilliant and if it was correct I'd buy it.. but as it is I don't want to waste time learning incorrect words so I'm not going to use it. Shame.

As someone who is teaching themself to speak Japanese this app is so handy. It helps me remeber my Kana as well as teaching me the Kanji. It's difficult without someone to guide you but this app definitely makes it easier to learn.

Some of the translations are wrong. Examples: zero is spelt as rei, but the pronunciation states english. Year is spelt nen, but is supposed to spell toshi. It does state Toshi when you click on it.

But there are some mistakes like for the reading sound of toe and ankle.. there were read the same, and the kanjis used are so deep and some words were used with its katakana even though the kanji is much easier and available and more practical to be used in sentences.

Glad to be learning the Kanji from the beginning. Studying kanji just for the sake of learning kanji, is extremely boring. it's good to be learning Kanji for the words that I'm learning. if you look at a Japanese newspaper you'll realize that there's no hope unless you will learn kanji early.
