F-Stop Gallery Pro for Android
After years of trying different galleries and finding myself still looking for the one I wanted and knew must be out there I've finally found this one. It's a beautifully thought out app, displays my photos in the way I want to see them. And makes it easy to edit, delete etc and do all of the other things a good gallery app should do.
My old copy of Quickpic became unstable after Android's update. So after trying a dozen gallery apps I tried the free version of F-Stop and bought the pro version within fifteen minutes. I would like if Mega and/or Imgur were added to the cloud service.
Very nice app. Seems to be more stable than QuickPic and lots of features. My one request would be to have the option to choose different types of security for the protected pictures. QuickPic let you draw a pattern and that was a lot easier and quicker to do. When you select Protected on this, it pops up the place for the password but you have to tap the box to get the keyboard to come up, then type on the password a couple times cause I always fat finger it. A pattern or fingerprint option would be great!
I paid for pro thinking I could easily create sub folders but I can't, nested folders is way too clunky and I don't care about the other fancy features. I couldn't even see how nested folders worked without paying and this is an expensive app I don't want now. I'd like a refund.
Am I missing something or is it really possible that this app doesn't sync with multiple devices? I really like it so far, but if it doesn't have this capability, that's a HUGE drawback for me! If I've overlooked this and someone can tell me where to find it, that would perfect it!
The previous questions to this critique are daft - I think they come from Google, not you but you might try to pursuade Google to do something sensible instead! Your app is constantly updated - the last update a major one. Does everything, has everything. A great app, keep it up. Used to be a QuickPic user but they lost the plot!
Nothing easy at all trying to create sub folders within folders then moving the pictures there..... Absolute nightmare! Welcome to the 6 bucks to hire lab assistants to work on a solution....Let me know when it's user friendly.
I purchased the Pro because of the Custom Sorting feature. I really loved it. It once was my default gallery but after awhile and a few updates, strange things started happening: duplicate thumbnails, forever 0% media scanning, empty Folder view, custom sorting not functioning always, etc) It became a totally useless and annoying app. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling for several times already but problem is still there. Hope dev is working on a fix.
It's a great photo app but I found a couple of glitches that could be easily addressed and I contacted the developers long time ago but unfortunately no action taken: 1. When watching a video, pause to switch apps then come back, the video doesn't resume and you will have to start from the beginning. 2. The play/pause button is so tiny that I can't hit it sometimes.
I've lost an irreplaceable video because the interface helped me accidentally delete it. The delete button was right next to the share button, so I hit it accidentally... and the confirmation pops up in the same spot (easy to double click fast to delete). And that's what happened. Other gallery apps have a confirmation dialogue that pops up in a different part of the screen. I'm partially to blame with fat fingers... But I think having a confirmation in the same place as original delete button is a poor UI decision. And there is no trash/recycle bin like other gallery apps have.
I used the free version for a month. Since it is good I purchased the pro and uninstalled the free version. But while opening the new app it insisting to install the free version also. I don't know why. Only after installing the free I am using the pro version. Having 2 same apps . What to do
It does everything I need without being the bloated mess QuickPic became. The layout is exactly the way I like it. Went Pro after trying it for a month because I know for sure no other gallery app will take its place. Keep up the good work!
Please join the rest of the world and make this app work with Chromecast and cloud (Picasa, Dropbox, etc). Seriously man. Get with it. This app is the ONLY major gallery app that lacks these things. Ridiculous. Would like the option to hide the lock icon in the upper right corner too (when you save position and zoom), but I won't press my luck. About to start looking for another gallery app.
A great photo gallery with EXIF information. Beautifully design and impressive. As a photographer, EXIF data is all I need in a photo gallery app. An app that deserves a support, so that's why I bought the pro version. A minor suggestion: for the pro edition, I saw that there's an option to hide the F-Stop key from the app drawer. Is it also possible to replace the icon with the 'pro' icon?
Everything are great except one thing that raw photo isn't supported yet! Developer has told me it will do support it in the future. Looking forward it !
I purchased the Pro version, but it's not working on my One Plus One! Going to have to refund for now, until the problem is fixed. Such a shame, it's a really good app.
Perfect replacement for Android gallery or Quick Pic - which I've used for a long time. This app has lots of options which take a while to get used to, but the end result is worth the effort!
Excellent for extensive bulk photo organising and categorizing, and with the correct inapp settings modified you will find no better alternative, due to the lack of settings options, long loading times and large cache deposits it refrains from becoming a default photo viewer and used more as a tool
Nice feature set. A tiny bit laggy n unresponsive. No crashes so far, nice feature set. Keep up that good work.
I purchased the Pro version, but it's not working on my One Plus One! Going to have to refund for now, until the problem is fixed. Such a shame, it's a really good app.
Clean, flexible interface, easy organization, very glad they haven't jumped on this stupid monthly/yearly subscription fad.
This is the best gallery app, period. The one I was using before this went to dark side. F-Stop does so much more than that one and does it easily.
After I bought the pro version, I thought theme would be good feature with couple selections but after all, the themes aren't really great and not satisfactory in my taste
I never realised I rated this one star.. this app does everything it's supposed to do and has become my favourite gallery to use.
With the ability to create nested albums, multiple tags, protected folders and all with great ease, this is the ultimate gallery app for organising large collections.
Purchased the 'Key' - still wants me to purchase key to get nested folders. ahhhhh - Rebooted phone and all is well - thank you.
I really Like this Photo gallery, It is so much easier to understand than most, i like that you can put the photos in any order you want and in any folder you want. I hate when apps tell me where my stuff should go!! They don't know me they don't know my life, If i want it backward and upside down it's my right i paid for it!! anyway Love this app. keep up the good work guys. I bought the pro in less than an hour after i downloaded the free version. it's great when you stumble upon an app that actually does what it claims to do!!!
Very good program. A perfect substitute for the stock gallery that is no more present in Android Marshmallow. I appreciate very much the few number of permissions required by this program: no access to my contact list and to other sensitive information. I love tried the free version a few days, than I decided to buy the paid version. I had to contact the developers, and they answered very quickly and solved my problem
I love this app's many features, but it very frequently snaps back to the first image in a folder when browsing images. I use this app primarily to sort downloaded images and the way it is constantly snapping back to the first image in a folder is very annoying and time consuming. It is so bad, outweighing the many great features, that I am considering uninstalling even though I paid for Pro.
I generally like the player, I just think it's odd that the app itself doesn't playback video files such as webms without asking to open a different app, unless I'm simply missing something.
F-stop is quick and easy, and it offers lots of options for organizing and viewing photos. It's the only viewer I have found that lets me sort albums by the original date the photos were taken. When I had a problem and left a note on their Web site, they responded within hours with a link to a beta version that fixed the problem. (Oops -- the original low rating was a slip of the thumb. I intended to give it 5 stars.)
This app was crashing whenever I tried to tag more than ten photos. The dev contacted me and sent a different version of f stop and it fixed the problem! Very happy right now. A feature that would be nice to have in future editions: the ability to crop and rotate photos within f stop.
I had a problem with crashing when i first got the app but i emailed the developer. And got a reply very quickly who help fixed the problem. This app is a great replacement for Quickpic but is also better than quickpic.
I've never spent much time organizing photos/videos, but have realized that my reluctance was likely due to a previous host of low-performing apps that I'd used. F-Stop is really a delight to use - clean, quick, and MOSTLY intuitive. I say "mostly" because there were times when I wasn't sure how to apply my user-defined tags, or to select a range of photos for tagging. Thankfully, F-Stop can boast one of the best tutorials in the business (on their website). I love the multiple range selections, and being able to work with nested folders. I still have issue with user-defined tagging (the "check" is up next to search... after clicking "add+" it is still necessary to click the check; seems to be one step too many), but have really enjoyed exploring this app.
As I have moved away from QuickPix, I had hard time finding responsive image browser. This is it, I like the layout and good reaction time, sorting options are all I need. I recommend this app to anyone.
Had to find a replacement for Quickpic since Cheetah Mobile bought it and subsequently destroyed it. This one is even better and I'm glad I made the switch!
All the features you'd ever want from a gallery app; however all of it ruined by a very long time it takes to update and show newly taken photos (up to 6 seconds). Other apps, such as Google Photos or Gallery KK, show the new photos instantly. Please fix.
Replaced Piktures with this app. Really like the fast media scanner and multiple configurations available in the pro version. Had to take away a few stars for one glaring bug that caused me a lot of pain. When in the top view, showing all folders, if you delete a folder, it not only removes the images, but every other file in the folder. This is a major no-no for a gallery app and no other gallery I've tried removes non-image files this way. Cost me a lot of valuable data when I thought I was just clearing downloaded images.

F-STOP is the best gallery app I've been able to find. As a photographer, I use it to review and trade images with clients. What I'd really love is to formulate print orders from the reviews. I currently have to go back through the rated images and write the image name down, along with print media and size. Adding this functionality would be amazing. The other thing is that whilst the app works really well with removable media like SD cards, my file store is Google Drive, and I want the folders in the cloud treated like local ones as much as possible. I don't want to copy media locally. I want to 'just work with it' seamlessly. I want to rate images and have that reflected in the actual file in the cloud. If I've missed how to do this, I'd like to hear how please. In summary : a great gallery. Could be a defacto for professional photographers on Android with some enhancements.
