How do I get it?
Download BT Cloud onto your smartphone, tablet and computer from bt.com/cloud/download or access through the secure web portal at btcloud.bt.com
What else does it do?
Organise your life: get all your content you keep on your smartphone, computer, tablet, USBs and hard drives and save it into BT Cloud for safe keeping. You can file everything into folders.
Share your content: share individual photos to entire albums and even the largest of files! Just send a private link so people can easily download what they need – they don’t even have to be a BT customer. You can even post things directly to Facebook and Twitter straight from your BT Cloud.
Get your files anywhere: you’ll never have to go without getting hold of your files again. Just log on to BT Cloud and see your photos, listen to your music, watch your videos and work on your documents when you need to.
Never waste time searching for your content: because everything is automatically backed up into BT Cloud, you will know that it’s all there together in one place.
If your PC crashes or you lose your phone: you don’t have to worry about losing your photos and documents too. With automatic backup, all of your files will be ready for you to download from BT Cloud onto your new device.
Work from the latest documents wherever you are: so no matter if you can’t get hold of your PC, you can use any other device to log onto BT Cloud and access that document you were working on. All the changes you make will be ready for you to access when you’re back on your PC!
Get your content even when you’re offline: so if you know you’re going to be out of Internet access and you’ll want to listen to your music or watch your videos, like when you’re travelling, you can do that by marking files “offline”.
We can be trusted: We will never use your personal content in marketing, profile your files to serve you targeted ads, or sell your data to any third parties. What you have in your BT Cloud is yours and yours alone. All your content is stored within the EU and protected by EU privacy laws.
How to use the BT Cloud app:
1. Download the app and activate your BT Cloud by following the directions on screen. You’ll need to be connected to the Internet.
2. Remember – this app is exclusively for BT Broadband customers! You’ll need your BT ID and password to log in. If you don’t have these, just follow the links in the app or visit bt.com/myextras.
3. After login, follow the set-up instructions to set auto backup and name your device.
4. The items you’ve selected for automatic backup will begin to transfer immediately. The speed of transfer will depend on the amount and size of your files and the speed of your 3G/Wi-Fi connection.
5. Don’t worry – your back-up will continue any time you have the app open and a data connection. You can choose in the Settings whether to allow back-up over 3G or only over Wi-Fi.
6. Visit bt.com/myextras to install BT Cloud on your computer and find out which other devices are compatible.
7. Check out how much storage you’re using via the icon at the bottom of the app or at bt.com/myextras – just click on the tile labelled ‘BT Cloud’.
Terms and Conditions apply – see bt.com/cloud/terms for details.
Now way to simply upload and store files. No way to empty trash can. Total wast of space. And I am paying for this. Email is insecure as well.
i do not know how to use BT Cloud. They keep telling me I should. No-one tells me how.
This app works only on 2 of my 3 Galaxy Android devices. Though my Galaxy S2 (4.0.4) now has multiple connections but at least it connects whereas my Galazy S4 (4.4.2 - and I don't want to upgrade to Lollipop), just keeps advising me that I have failed to enter my login parameters correctly that ends up with BT freezing the account for 15 minutes. Since this is a message from BT it means that my login parameters are not being sent to the host correctly. Yes I may have made a mistake but not 10 times in a row, especially when the S2 and my Tab work first time! So unless this is fixed the BT Cloud service is unusable. Apart from this the BT Cloud service is intrinsically deficient though marginally better than what it replaced. Sometimes I just want to login and copy stuff rather than the service constantly monitoring my PCs etc.. But there seems no way to "Logout"; "Quitting" the service doesn't appear to do that, I seem to have to remove all devices instead. I wish this was a better experience. Unfortunately I'm resigned to using Google Drive & Dropbox until this is fixed.
As with the previous review it just says "You need an Internet connection to take the application into use", and won't open. (Note: "to run this app" would have been a less Chinglish way of putting it). Obviously I do have a perfectly good connection, as I am able to write this review. It worked just once after the first installation, and now refuses to go beyond the error message. Uninstalling and reinstalling does not fix this issue.
As previous reviews, the app doesn't work, apparently there is no connection to the Internet eventhough I can post this review. Ridiculous!
Was able to install, but when OPENing it, app wanted an internet connection - how did I manage to install it without one? Or is it looking for a WiFi connection? V2.50.210101 on HTC One [m7] Vodafone 4g, Android 5.0.2, Sense 6.0, SmartLauncher 3.16(beta)
Won't upload from phone but works from tablet in same room. Can't transfer file from sd card without crashing
Asking me to connect to Internet even though I installed the app fine with the same connection. Dah.!
Doesn't find any photos I save on the micro sd card so wont auto upload them.
Having spent an afternoon transferring almost 6k photos from my tablet to BT cloud I now find I cannot create my own personal folders inside the cloud so I can organise all my pics into easily identifiable albums. Why can't thus be done. It seems a simple ask surely? My photos are stored by date which is not really helpful if I'm trying to locate a specific pic n can't recall the date I took it. Trawling through all my pics isn't an option. Please add an option to create folders in next update thx.
Works across many different devices, works with Windows or Android, can share any photo to BT cloud instantly or can set to auto sync, easy to use, and access anywhere, also works with Chromecast, had no problems so far, would highly recommend.
The automatic backup does not read files from SD card. As like most people I store my photos on an SD card this means that my images are not backed up. Please update this app to read files stored on an external card.
Connects and works, but file upload had not been finished. Haven't tried the sync yet.
Doesn't even open. Just says I need internet to use it..... I wonder what magic I'm using to post this
There is a bug which requires WiFi to be present before BT cloud goes online. You can run over the fone network, but the app always starts offline until you turn WiFi on, then off again.
5GB free. What good's that? I get 3x that from Microsoft and Google, more from Dropbox and I don't pay them. I pay for BT and get a measly 5GB. I've got bigger memory cards FFS! Can't wait till my contract's up service is mince anyway the Rebooter (my router - that's what we call it coz that's all it does) is cheap Chinese rubbish.
Clearly the app has compatibility issues with many devices. I use a galaxy note 4 which as you can see is online..4G in fact but the app says no Internet connection. I will be contacting bt for a reduction even if it's a pound, if we all do it there hand will be forced to sort it out, many of the other bt extras are very buggy. Parental controls have time pera meters set but regardless of the time make your Internet connection unstable.I believe there development team require the preverbial. Please reply BT
App will not let me log in, tells me my log in details are incorrect, even though I can use the web page with the same details! This makes the app unusable and I am paying £3 a month for the privilege!
It started off OK,but now won't transfer any data. When you think of how much money they make this is disgraceful.
it installed on android phone o.k..but that's all ,i can't move photo's or files to it ......not impressed.
Keeps saying no internet connection when I have one, how is this problem still not fixed, 50gb of unusable storage
No internet connection lol shouldnt be surprised it is bt after all ! Deleting.
Impossible to see contents simply!
I have an Android phone and an ipad, and it's really useful to be able to have all my stuff available on both devices.
Like most of BTs promise.. No good! Our internet is useless. And they cannot fix it. Even with all their ASIAN investment!
Thanks for recent update. Can you add a select all button on the next update. Also the ability to empty trash on the app would be good.....the reply below from bt is out of date and not for this comment
Won't open.says I have no Internet connection when I clearly have. So unable to set up any further
I've tried a thousand times to sign in. Fix the problem otherwise there is no need for this app. This app sucks.
It worked once, after a reinstall it now shows new the BT homepage... What is that about ?
Doesn't even open. Just says I need internet to use it..... I wonder what magic I'm using to post this
Absolutely love it Al never lose my work photos etc again
Keeps dislpaying needs internet connection to work, come on BT sort this out, this used to be a good app.
Might be a great app but the T&Cs are the longest I have ever seen on an app, could not be bothered to read so uninstalled.
Can't designate folders on mobile devices for auto backup. Doesn't recognize the same device after an update.
Keeps saying requires an Internet connection and won't proceed further. Actually on line sending this -- duuuuh still won't move on!!
Almost as good as the big boys (drop box etc). Nice interface and the app for pc works well.
Easy and simple. I can a pictieton my phone and seconds later, it appears on my tablet and ready to share!
Says i need to connect to the internet when i have signal
Have on my phone and tablet. Great for auto back up. Plus can log in elsewhere and see my photos and files.

It worked for a while, then I can't use it. Recently improved as it works for about a week the constantly crashes on opening. Only solution is delete app then reinstall and its ok for another week. Very frustrating as a BT customer.
