Cinema 4K for Android
I enjoy all the features this has, but it doesn't work for me. The programmer(s) don't respond to email, at least not in the last 3 weeks. Whenever I record a video, no matter the length or resolution, whenever the video is played back I see a still frame and hear the full length audio. Once that finishes the video will play. With no sound. Exporting to computer and all that can be played back is the audio. No video embedded or encoded. This is occurring on a Samsung S7 Nougat OS. Plenty of RAM. Plenty of storage space. So all I can give it is 1 star.
EDIT - With the newest update, flat profiles are working on Android 7.0 on my Nexus 6p! This makes it my favourite video app once more. OLD REVIEW - I love the control this app brings and it's one of the only non-stock apps that get autofocus right during video capture. However the app crashes when trying to toggle on a flat profile. (Nexus 6p, Android 7.0)
The developer NEVER responds to anyone. Using a LG V10, Can't record 4k, but can record 2k in 160mbps which is great. I record to onboard memory, not sure if my sd card can record such a high bitrate. Options for other flat profiles would be great, colors a bit too saturated. Histogram also would be nice for use with a nd filter to dial down shutter speed sometimes.
Great pro-like video recording app that takes full advantage of your smartphone's image sensor. High bit rate recording is possible with this app but can cause instability when set beyond what your phone can handle. The flat profile is incredibly useful for giving you more flexibility in customizing the look of your footage with an editor.
Good, nice 4k encoding options, which improve performance compared with stock. Bluetooth button does not work on my gimble (uoplay) to start/stop, is it possible to fix please? Please pretty please? Also: some flickering during manual adjustments as others noted. But bluetooth start/stop is badly needed.
Love all the manual controls, and the flat profile, but the manual focus does not really work, and you cant go above 30 fps when recording. Definatly has the best interface. Works better than camera fv-5 and other manual apps. Definatly best app on android fir manual video. But the developer needs to fix problems with the fps, and the focus.
Its a good app for Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe. 4k@200mbps settings really work on the internal memory. Only issue is the missing settings for audio and PR settings crash. Developer should add saving presets for quick setup. I find myself setting up the iso and shutter speed everytime I start the app.
The accessibility to this camera app is awesome but if only if the camera could record that would be even better. Everytime I record a video on the app, it shows a still frame but the audio runs without problem. Once the audio stops the video begins to roll even after the cursor has reached the end of the video's timeline. For that, it's a complete waste of space and time and I am not going to consider buying it.
On LG5 4K record produces 1080HD and cannot get it to do 4K. On G4 fine except max bitrate is 160 despite 200 setting. Help please ? Also eant twin camera support on G5 ? Otherwise brilliant
The videos are created with a weird framerate that is not exact, for example if i set the app to 25fps, the video comes out as 25.01342 or 25.142 ect. Please try and have this fixed as im trying to use with a video editor and i need exact frame rates
The app look very promising but is unusable: crashing every time I change a setting and randomly crash when recording. BTW make difference between 24fps and 23.976fps can be a basic settings
Not a stable app, keeps crashing. Recorded a video but autofocus though locked was not functioning. Rest features worked. Bluetooth mic recording option not available, sad part.
Sometimes the app takes a very long while to process a clip; I'm unsure of.the particulars, bit most other apps like this don't take half as long (at higher qualities). I like just about everything the app has to offer, but there are more times than not that the app will process a shot that never shows up for viewing in any gallery. HTC 10.
I really want to love this but having issues with (AF) auto focus. The video looks almost blurry compared to the stock cam. I tried manual mode and I still could not get it as sharp as the stock cam.
If I could rate this app a 0, I would. The audio does not sych well with the video at all. I would record content only to find that when I play it the video is frozen but the audio is playing, however once the audio has finished playing the video will start to play without audio! I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, so I have no clue how this would work for other phones. But if you have the same phone I'd be weary of the app as to not waste money. Disappointed.
This app have great manual control and run smoothly on OnePlus 3T shooting 4K. The only issue is that when shooting on flat profile the image has a strange green cast, hope this will be solved with an update.
Upd3. The app stopped working. Crashes everytime i open it. Upd2. Can't record 4K on my LG V20, maximum 2K with 200mbps. The Flat profile works excellent. I know the developers don't respond any requests, though it would be nice to be able to record 4K on my phone.
Love the app, paid for the full version but it stutters when recording and it saves video with the stutters and lags , it flashes purple sometimes and that also gets recorded, as well as being unstable and buggy here than there
Bought the full app and have been very happy with it but after an incident that involved me having to reset/initialise my phone, I now have to buy it again? The play store recognises that I have/had an older version ( four months old) hence me being able to do this review so why do I need to make another purchase for the full version twice? I don't see any significant feature updates.
I'm used to my DSLR and I can say, this is impressive on my galaxy s6 edge. I love the ability to manually set everything and its ability to shoot 4k at 200bits is insane (although it does take up lots of memory, but thats expected) worth the price. Shooting at 24fps, 1/50 shutter speed, setting up the white balance, and using a flat profile, I've been able to capture amazing film. Combined with another app called videoshow, I can do it all from my phone for short films. Love this app!
PLEASE FIX THE FLICKERING ON LG G5 WHEN ADJUSTING MANUAL ISO!! if not for this problem I think the app would be amazing but with the flickering issue it is useless :/
Unfortunately after upgrading from G4 to LG G5 I faced many problem with this app such as flickering specially in manual mode with ISO higher than 300 and some strange noise (side lines), considering the fact that G5 and G4 have equal camera modules (16mp) it is pretty sad, hope they could solve it, cause it's really nice app. And yeah, please add wide angel camera support for G5.
Always crashes. When it opened the one time quality was terrible. Better to use the phones standard camera app.
I'm really enjoying the trial and I want to buy the full version. However, I read some cases of it not working for people after buying the app and the developer doesn't respond. So, I'm hesitant to buy the app.
using it with my s7 edge. no matter what setting you choose, the video cannot be played, it just show the first frame. copy the file to the pc, same result. you need to fix the file with mp4 fix .so you cant view your video immediately once you record it. it makes your film making process very difficult. i just buy this app for the flat profile, otherwise dont buy it!!
I really like the options made available by this app, for the most part i have no issues with it on my s7, however i would like to see the option to adjust the saturation as i dont think image is as flat as it could be, great app!
Why haven't they updated this app? Probably one of the best video camera apps on the android platform.. I wish there was recurrent updates
No. No. Three issues: It crashes EVERY TIME I Adjust the QUALITY and the frame rate. ONE MINUTE?! HELL NO!! I put my quality to 720p but I can't do 60fps?
Really interested in buying this app. I'm even willing to work with the mp4 fix, but I can't set the resolution to 3840 x 2160. The closest option I get is to shoot in 3264 x 2448. My phone is a Galaxy S7, running marshmallow.
Wonderful camera app, it's really helped me to get the most out of the OnePlus 3T's great camera, as the stock camera app doesn't really do it justice. My only wish however is that it included the golden ratio as a grid option, as even though it includes the rule of thirds, I find that the golden ratio makes for a much better image composition.
I had recorded a video and when today I want to watch it and it says: unsupported video codec. So now I have only audio. Samsung galaxy s7 edge
If u press the picture profile button or try and adjustbthe picture profile in the settings. The app simply crashes. Complete waste of time on samsung note 4
Great images via flat profiles. However badly needs Fstop controls and not just ISO and exposure.
App crashes after upgrade to full version.... cant even take a video without a crash. Features like white balance has no noticeable effect on image What a waste of money
after filming, i cant what it. it says something about an unsupported video codec, so i could only listen to the audios
I love this camera app and cant find another as good. However, I am experiencing a bug that is bringing the frame rate down and causing a consistent choppiness on playback. I am using an lg g4.
Not sure if it's good. I like the idea but on my s6. It's not sharp compared to the stock app and even with fv5
Not sure what happened. This used to be a great app. Now it just crashes on me. I have the pro version.
Tried 4k video on a Samsung s7 edge. The video plays only after the audio has finished. No synchronisation at all. I was expecting great things from this app...

The only pro video app that worked on my Galaxy S7 Edge. It's simple but does the job, filming with a nice flat profile and 200Mbps, instead of this oversharpened overcontrasted low bitrate mess, that stock camera does. The results here are gradeable. Stabilisation works well as well, but autofocus is really slow compared to stock camera. Though this app has a very usable and really nice manual focus, which worked for me. Probably the only problem is that output in case of Galaxy S7 isn't really 4k, it's slightly smaller and has 4:3 ratio. But, even in that case, the result is way more usable and have way more quality and detail, than Galaxy's stock camera 4K. Must have for all GS7 users who want to get maximum from it's amazing camera in terms of video.
