FrontierTV - for FiOS and Vantage TV subscribers for Android
Seems to work so far. Sometimes crashes upon startup and after restarted, usually works 2nd time around (using samsung S8 plus). Not all DVR content that is recorded able to be played on app. Love the option to play DVR while away from home.
This was awesome 6 months ago when i could watch any of my subscribed channels live but now it's a curated list that doesn't include network stations so no football and most of the stations are boring anyway. Also, why can't i cast out from the app? Sure i can use my phone as a remote but i don't lose remotes ever so who cares. Do better devs...y'all sucking right now.
They must have fixed the app. I almost didn't download because of the low ratings. But it works perfectly on my old Samsung Note 4, with one except... Half the time when I open it,I get the message that it quit. Tap Ok, open again, and it works great!
Only some channels work live. Can't watch the DVD programs most of the time. much less quality than I had with my dish I can do anything watch TV watch DVDs watch recordings or even record from remote locations not even half oh the reliability and features that I had with my dish I think I'm going back to Dish
Gets basics out there. Can't adjust the guide to my favorites only, because certain HD channels don't work with the app, so I need to see the non HD channell. Search feature nonusable. Doesn't give much customization options. But ok, only infrequent burps.
Worst of all time. Not working and if it fails to work, you cannot sign in to other apps (Foxgo, HBOgo, etc) total waste. If i could give a negative star I would. Please email me when the app works. (I'll be dead but please email anyway) P.S. This app is terrible.
Can't watch most of the live programs. Has a little pad lock on them saying I need to subscribe to that channel in order to watch it. Well its playing on my tv right now, so I'd say I have subscribed to the channel. It use to work. Now doesnt. I miss Verizon Fios! Never had these issues with them. On the fence about just going back to satellite. ????
Nov 2017 update made it WORSE. Couldn't watch all subscribed channels on a mobile device before the update, but now a banner reads "connect to your home WiFi to access more channels." Already connected, still fewer channels. Fire the developers.
The app loads slowly and a lot of the time it won't load or locks up. After I reboot it will work ok. I get frustrated and just don't use it.
This app does not provide all the channels I would like it to have. When I signed up I thought it would mirror what I can see at home. If I want to watch ESPN, my only option is watching it in spanish.
Have tried to open app dozens of times. Never worked. Uninstalled/ reinstalled six times. Always get "response error" Live TV schedule starts 12/31...nothing else shows. Hate this app. Had Spectrum and their app worked nea r perfectly.
"Preparing to stream your content." Really,? I've been sitting here 5 minutes reading that and watching it spin. Pointless! FIX THE DVR ALREADY! The app sucks and so does customer "support" who can't be bothered to read direct messages much less reply. Yet they tell me to DAM them. Such a joke. As long as we're paying u an arm and a leg, what difference does it make to u if the equipment or apps work properly?
This app sucks. It's had error messages on many of its functions for several months, with no hope of Frontier ever fixing it. Verizon is much better than Frontier. I miss you Verizon, please come back!
The app is full of bugs and basic features don't work. Currently I cannot see the programming list because it thinks it's December 31st. I am not sure which year it thinks it is.
11/7/2017 Having a problem where I can't view recorded and scheduled programs on my master bedroom dvr and the dining room dvr. Have had this problem for 6 days. Error code:DVR_3. Have had this problem before and it was fixed after I reported the problem. I've reported this problem 3 times and all I've got was my report has been received. I really would like this problem to get fixed ASAP! I'm very frustrated. PLEASE help!!! Have the same problems as most everyone here. It was working perfectly last week, now I can't get the info for program info on my dvr and it says device not connected to the internet. Tried everything, unplugging my dvr, uninstalling the app from my phone and reinstalling it. Called Frontier and they checked and my dvr is connected to the internet. They suggested turning off the modem then turn it on...still not working. They seem like they have never heard of this problem. I think everyone should start calling them and letting them know so they can fix this stupid problem!
Not sure why the low ratings, but this works great on my Samsung Note 4, with Lollipop 6 no issues what so ever. I've used this app for years, while it was Verizon & after it switched to Frontier. Thought I'd written a review, but apparently I hadn't. Don't normally use it until I go out of town, so I didn't know I needed to login my account while I was at home to be able to remotely access the DVR recordings. But, I'm still able to access what's recorded. So I can delete things I've watched live while out of town to help keep the recording space available for new recordings. Some things I save to watch with family when I get home. I'll edit this review when I see how it works to play what's on the dvr, after I login and go out of town in 2018.
Garbage. Some functions barely work. Most do not work at all.
Sometime it works fine, other times not. Is frequently unable to connect to my DVR, display channel listings, or perform other basic tasks.
This app has come a long way. I actually enjoy this user interface more than the Verizon one. Slowly Frontier seems to be working out the kinks in the business.
Horrible execution. Please give us back to Verizon.
The app won't even OPEN with the Note 8. I miss Verizon in Florida! Never had a problem with the Verizon FIOS app- could schedule recordings from my phone or online, pay my bill...
* It, ridiculously, will not allow you to extend a recording. * The GUI in the TV listings is bad. * You can't watch recorded programs. * It is very hard to figure out how to watch current programs. Also, it is inextricably linked to the DVR function that Frontier offers, and that is a huge problem, because after 5 or so years they haven't offered much in usability fixes. * If I want to watch a recording of a game and don't want to know the outcome before starting it up, I have to turn it on mute and shade my eyes. How hard is it to give us the option of just a silent and blank screen when we start up the DVR, and when we accidently get dumped out of the recording, or when we stop a recording? If I stop a game, I don't want to be see the end of the game, that is why I am watching the recording. This is obvious stuff, folks. * If I am watching a recording and it catches up to time, it will not let me stop the program. When I hit the stop button it asks if I want to stop recording! No, I don't want to stop recording, I want to stop playing and go watch something else for awhile. And don't tell me that the pause button is what that is for.
Doesnt allow me to watch channels we are subscribed to. Like starz movies, just says something about media store registered users, error 307. Only downloaded to watch movies while out and about
The app is improving. Please integrate a content/channel search so I can search for different types of content or a specific channel. Also, please improve support for keyboard and mouse when projecting to a bigger screen or navigating using a keyboard and mouse on a tablet. Chromecast support to cast content would be amazing too.
Cannot stream recorded content. Tech support says they are working on it and hang up on me before I can say anything. This has been going on for weeks.
Pretty good great for road trips. Sometimes your not able to watch the show you click on. Usually a good working app though.
Did not connect to set top box. After doing every trouble shoot shown.

app does not stay engaged from day to day, does not sync with dvr recorings, difficult to use for non app savey person
The app won't start. Fresh install fails every time I try to start it saying unable to process request
App performance is buggy. Will not fully close, then locks when trying to access another program.
What more needs to be said other than its horrible, who ever the dev is should be fired.

UPDATE they fixed the problems much better, i can watch all of my dvr recordings anywhere and anytime! Great cause i watch on my treadmill and i need something that doesnt crash in the middles of a workout. It worked great for a short time, now I see all my DVD recording but they won't play. Please fix and I'll give a 5star. Plus I couldn't get live tv to ever work. Hope this helps.
