Audiobook Player 2 ($) for Android
Once upon a time I pay for this application and now is no longer useful Samsung Galaxy Note 4
But Android update lost places in books...
I've had several other audiobook player apps on my phone, but this is the only one that's stuck. When I was still working it was ideal for listening to stories while cycling to and from the station and on the train. Now I can continue to enjoy a good book while walking the dog or enjoying a beverage outside the pub. Mister Markström has constantly updated and improved the app over the years I've been using it and I can't think of anything other audiobook apps have which this one is missing. Also controllable from my Androidwear watch, so no need to get my phone out to pause/rewind etcetera.
I love how this app keeps it simple and does just what's it is supposed to, which is to play audiobooks. The sleep timer being on as a default annoyed me bit in the beginning, but it easily disabled and I can recommend enabling the option to only scan folder named audiobooks. The adds in app the free version didn't bother me, but I have bought it anyway as I found it to be just like I want it :)
A good player, but can't play files with spaces. Switched to Listen Audiobook Player for more functionality and frequent updates.
Sleep timer not working on HTC one m9!
I don't know why I have not left a review for this app yet. I bought it early 2011 and have used it continually across half a dozen phones. This is one of the top 5 apps I immediately reinstall on a new device. It's also probably the only application I have not upgraded or found a better replacement for over the last (almost) 5 years. It is definitely a "NO-FRILLS" audio book player, but it does what it's designed to do perfectly. I never loose my place, it never plays chapters out of order, it doesn't crash, or annoy me with ads. It just WORKS. If you are a fan of audio books, and have many audio books converted from CD or tape I have found no better app than this one for properly playing them. Great work Fredrik.
The best. Just plug or remove headphone jack to pause and resume playback. GPS and phone calls also pause and resume. Need update for same for GearVR.
This app single handedly makes my commute bearable. Large, car friendly controls. Simple, no nonsense interface. Love it.
The new interface and the screen lock just improved on a great product. Worth the money easily.
The scanning function is poor, it is difficult to get it to recognize new books, books that you have made changes to, and to forget old books.
Works very well with wildfire, but doesn't start again when head set is plugged in. A minor annoyance, but also the only one.
Been looking for an app like this for ages. Works perfectly and fills a niche. Well done dev, you deserve the donation!
Great app, had the free one, glad I could support by paying.
After donating several times to get rid of ads with old version due to rom changes this was still a bargain :) best audiobook player
WELL worth the money. I had no need to get the paid version, wanted to contribute cos its such excellent app!!
I'll give it 5 stars once you get the .mb4 files working. :)
Great app! Like the sleep timer! Setting to change playback speed would be nice!?
Works as expected. Nice minimal UI. No ads.
Great app without the ads! Would like to be able to add a bookmark.
Best android player I know.
I tried to buy this thing, but all that happened was my account was charged and my Droid kept flashing authorizing purchase for over an hour!
Needs book covers.
amazing. shake to continue playing feature is perfect.
Sorts the book in the wrong order.
I've tried a variety of audiobook players. I kept on going back to this app, which is still very good, but I would have to recommend Listen Audiobook Player as a better app.
There is nothing better than this when it comes to audiobooks. Should be the default player on Android devices.
Any possibility of a pull-down menu pause / play button?
Since last update, no more crashes!
Great app
I bought the paid version just to support the author I love the fact you can have a dedicated folder, and the fact that it remembers where you left off instead of starting from the begining I have used this app for several years now
This player is perfect and the sleep timer is better than any other player. Unlike other apps you can set the shake threshold so that loud books don't just play infinitely because the speaker shakes the phone slightly.
As a guy who lives on audiobooks, I use this program more then I use anything else on my droid. Fredrick has made a program that is a thing of beauty.
Could not be any more perfect. Easy to use, customizable. Makes driving and listening much safer.
Thats's not an overstatement. I made some rough calculations and realized that i have listened to every Discworld novel (many of them more than once) and a great deal of Stephen Kings novels using this app. I have listened to a lot more than that but i stopped counting when i reached 1000 hours and realized it was time to donate! I simply can't live without you'r app and it's worth every penny. Good work!
It is a great player. However is it possible to tell it where the books folder is? So far I have created a /audiobooks folder in the root and then a symlink /audiobooks/audiobooks pointing to the directory where the SD card is mounted. If I remove the /audiobooks only option, then the player sees all the music, which I am finding frustrating.
Very good for talk radio podcasts! Fine control over the timeline, much better for long spoken-word files than music oriented players.
I loved this book player, so much better than all the rest, but alas it doesn't seem to work with KitKat. I am having to use an inferior player now. Hopefully the dev will update it shortly and I will give it the five stars it deserves.
I've been using this app for a long time. Will it support more formats?

Having trouble now - not sure what changed - but now some books cause the app to crash.
