Freewheel, the all-WiFi device for Android
I had a lot of service issues but after awhile I figured out that weather apps like wu, NOAA and weather channel interfere with service when I installed them 90% of the time phone says poor service. Technical support should look into that. And when you want to share something to text the app is not under the selection have to copy and paste into text
At first, all was good, but, now Everything runs slow. To many places, phone don't work.Still room to download, but it's running slow enough
A great phone if you need to communicate with people and don't have enough money thank you Freewheel
Very good
I can never text my mom if im at school because i got no fūćking wifi
Firstly, Optimum's WiFi is terrible. Having to pay for device is terrible. If they really want customers, their FreeWheel app + plan is easier and simpler way to execute. Current service sucks.....drops calls often. BTW, they had terrible commercials. Need to drop marketing team.
The connection isn't great. I don't. really like that you can't set it as default call app. I'll be more happy if these two were fixed/better
It drops calls and I am 12 ft with only a wall between me and the router. I have a cheap back up phone for when I can't reception. Also you should have been told to set up phone on computer, add device, etc.
Doesn't seem to fully resolve no/ bad connection issue
And anything cheap is alright
If you are addicted to Words with Friends, this phone is great.Aside from that this phone sucks.
WiFi rock.
emai me
It works great if you are near Wi-Fi a lot. The only thing that I could not figure out is how to add a picture to the contact.
Reliability steeply declines when your WiFi connection is less than excellent. People you're talking to will remark about clipped audio and even echoing. Unlike GrooVe IP there are no settings in Freewheel to deal with echoing. Presumably the service is self monitoring but I had it fail on one call. It will frequently note that there are issues with audio quality. It will do that after a call and even when you aren't on a call. I had a very polite and expert service rep but it seems the company position defaults to that all customer issues can be resolved by calling only when very close to an excellent WiFi signal. That's not what they are advertising as they feature hopping from one open Optimum hotspot to another. I give this a two as it works but there is a lot of room for improvement. They have a competitor, who I won't name, that has problematic customer support, but who bundles in free cellular calls for when WiFi calling stumbles. They charge the same price as Optimum offers for its customers. Edit: A few of the earliest ratings were 5 star but left no review. They were made during launch week. Company shills?
*Edit: I have been trying to fix an "Authentication Problem" with the Optimum Hotspots. I've called Customer Service, they've put me over to the techies, and still nothing has been done. It's been 4 days. If I can't connect while I'm home, wth is the point of having this phone? And I notice the problem started AFTER the 30 days during which I could get my money back. Once again, I am disappointed in Optimum. I got rid of them as my provider and switched to Verizon because I had constant online issues. I thought, with this phone, that those had been fixed, and I was considering switching back. Not gonna happen at this point. I'll put back the stars when the problem is resolved. Maybe it's because I live in New York, but I never have a problem connecting to wifi with freewheel, except when I'm driving. And there's always the option installing a SIM card with a cheap pay as you go plan, for those times when you must make an important call and you aren't in range of a hotspot. the unlimited talk, text, and data alone make this totally worth it. the device is a really nice moto G, easy to use, with tons of storage. I fully recommend this plan, and I am not even an Optimum customer.

Excellent
Reliability steeply declines when your WiFi connection is less than excellent, though still adequate. People you're talking to will remark about clipped audio and even echoing. The app will frequently note that there are issues with audio quality. It will do that after a call and it will do that even when you aren't on a call. This is partly why I say it seems to be self monitoring, and self adjusting. I was just talking to product support for them. I had a very polite and expert service rep but it seems the company position defaults to that all customer issues can be resolved by calling only when very close to an excellent WiFi signal. That's not what they are advertising as they feature hopping from one open Optimum hotspot to another. I give this a three as it works but there is a lot of room for improvement.
