Had the paid version of Freecaddie for a couple years without updating it. It was simple but it did everything I needed and it did it well. Didn't need to log in to use the app. Unfortunately I updated the app to find a much bulkier more complicated app. The experience is unpleasant when compared what it i used to be. Some recommendations: 1. Log in should be optional! 2. Allow scores to be entered without the use of a scroll wheel. 3. Scorecard to show first 9 holes total.

I have used this app for a few years and it has been great. I liked the view better in the previous version front middle back hole number and par on one screen. But am getting used to new version. Looking forward to what's coming in the future.

So good app when you need a rangefinder, but rest not so good. Should have a keypad instead of scroll for selecting score. Should show score for front and back nine. Should mark score if it is bird, par or bogey, etc. Should keep names in fixed position when scrolling right otherwise you have to remember the order the names. Seems like it has been made by someone who doesn't play golf.

Loved the older version. Just updated and it just locks my phone. The update looks good but only if I can use it! Any chance the bugs can be sorted? Galaxy s5. Bugs fixed works like a dream. Many thanks. Keep up the good work!!!

Works great if you never use another app. As soon as you switch back this app freezes and you have to wait for Android to close it. Very inconvenient. Also the last downloaded course is always covered by add, so you have to download a random w,x,y, or z course

Had original version, was simple clean and easy to use. The update has an ad position that won't allow you to choose the last downloaded course which happens to be the one I play most often. ..

Crashes every 5 minutes. Really disappointed. I used the old version for a couple of years and it was great. This new version is terrible. So many people are in the same boat as me. Why don't they listen and bring back the working old version.

I had been using this app for a couple of years and LOVED it. It gave me exactly what I wanted, front, middle and back yardages in large easy to see numbers and it found all the courses I was playing. Also you didn't need to be registered to use the app. Made a mistake and updated, now it won't find my local courses, has adds and other useless crap that clutters the screen. A 1 star rating is too much!! It is totally ruined and I will be uninstalling. I would glady pay for the prior version.

I just downloaded this app for my Alcatel One Touch Idol 3. I have used the free version of FreeCaddie since I had a Motorola Triumph years ago. It always worked well butI switched to one of the free competitor apps that offered more features a couple years ago. I have used FreeCaddie occasionally since switching when I was unable to download course/map information due to poor data connections. Some golf courses seem to be to far from the cell towers to get a good data connection. FreeCaddie course information downloads easily over 3G or poorer connections. I know the other app lets you download the course so a data connection isn't needed but who thinks of that until the data signal is bad. The new features make FreeCaddie look more attractive - almost like the pro version without the overhead view. I'll be trying it out again this spring and summer to see how it compares.

This app seems very awesome, but I really wish it had 2 features. 1. Android Wear support! I really like using my watch when I'm out golfing, so I can leave my phone in my pocket and still see ranges and take my score. 2. I would really like a way to input my clubs and distances, then have the app offer a suggested club based on the distance remaining. With these two things, this simple app could easily become my primary app!

Loved the simple design before update. Ugg.... this is way to busy and will eat up more data and battery. I don't think they understood their niche

Rubbish not accurate at all, was 40 meters out most times

My initial review had 1 star due to some issues with my course map. Not all of it had been 're mapped after the quakes. After some great follow up contact with free caddie I've now 're-installed the app and will be back out course with it tomorrow to follow up on the advice. Great service team.

Update to locking up issue. I found Free Caddie must be able to run in the background. Once I configured my phone properly, FC runs great. Happy golfer once again except for that last drive......

Used to have issues every time opening the app as the screen freezes. Contacted the support team and they worked with me immediately to diagnose the issue and make an update that would solve the issue. Currently have no issues and love the app!!

I never know whether this app has the golf course I want or is going to load it properly if it does or freeze during play if it does load. The free version worked so much better.

Trying to download course I had never played. I followed instructions and was not able to locate course. Course is over 50 yrs old. What's up.

...but on latest update it has locked up on me during a round a few times - had to force stop and restart

The best free golf app ever. Would highly recommend. Not to much clutter. Very easy to use.

I love this app! It pairs well with my Pebble smart watch and I am able to use it out on my course. Yardages are very accurate. Would recommend to any caddie.

I have auto hole checked in settings but disappointed, doesn't automatically go to next hole

Does the job well. Issue with upgrade, cannot upgrade to add free version

Can't find my course when I type it in by name. Why? I'll give it 5 stars when this is fixed. UPDATE: I have changed my stars to 5 after getting a response to my issue. Searched by city and BOOM all the courses for the area showed up. Thanks for your help!!!! I still have to test the audio function, but I'm golfing tomorrow, so I'll post my findings.

I like the new features and layout of the app. It just feels slower than previous versions. Very laggy on my phone. I have not tried on any other phone though, so there's that. I still use it, it does everything I need it to do and more, it just isn't as snappy as I would expect it to be.

It tells me failed to write when I try and download any course to my phone running Android 5.1, and I tried reinstalling with no fix.

Great, can even enter a small local course that isn't in the database. Exit doesn't release the GPS, must force close the app after use. Directions to the course with latest update?? Don't see how to invoke this.

Paid but can't find it in app, should I pay again? It doesn't even show up anywhere in the app.

Used to be that I could use this app without having to sign in. Now that they want my email so that they can send a butt load of crap to my inbox not interested in the app and having to sign in to use. Uninstalled and will go back to using my built for privacy range finder.

At least 5 times per round the app shuts down and it disconnects from my pebble watch.

Paid for the pro but wouldn't download any course info. Feeling ripped off

Latest update broke this once great app

5 star but need help! Love the app, but since updated to pro, the widget is not smooth, does not auto advance and the arrows don't advance holes!
