Frame Capture for Android
Great app. One of the ones that works best for what I need. Often times Itry to get very accurate screen caps on videos for analysis, breakdowns and review and this helps me get that. Jumping back a framde doesn't always work though.
Saving as PNG or JPG, pretty fast jumping between frames, even goes a couple of frames backwards when you went over them before. Nice! LATEST UPDATE: Can you please NOT put : in filenames?
Every time I pause a video to capture a frame, the video rotates. When I unpause, it reverts back to the correct orientation. Therefore capturing frames is an ongoing pattern of useless rotating. If this could be solved, this app would be perfect.
Does what it says on the tin. When pausing a video for first time, it reorientates sideways - kind of annoying but only does it once and not really disruptive. So far so good
Looked all over for a simple player that could go back and forth frame by frame to get the right shot and this app was the only one that really delivered
What happened to the frame capture feature? When I try to get a frame, there is a pop up saying: Unable to get the frame, make sure you have enough memory. But actually my memory has a lot of gigabytes, both SD card and internal storage.
This is very bad most the videos won't even show up other than that it's actually quite good
Love to wait for all 300 videos to load before I can make a selection. No pull from file option
Really it's best app. You can grabs hd image
Only app I've found that allows manual frame by frame forward and capture. Great!
Best way to get still photos from video. Trust me had to use it on some stuff!
Cant capture screen shots from videos
It retains the original frame size of the video! Works awesome on Galaxy S6!
Perfect. It does exactly what it says it does. Works perfectly for me. Thanks!
Doesn't play Mp4
Scanned my entire phone, said found no videos????
Good app, thanks.
Since Samsung took away it's video frame capture function, I have been searching for the perfect app that can play video frame by frame and have the screen capture feature at the same time, and this is it. The capture function was lagging before the update, but after the update, it has truly become the perfect video frame grabbing tool!
Features ok, but unusable because frame to frame movement was to slow. Took 30 minutes to grab a handful of snaps from a 90 second video. New phone S7 Edge. Native frame capture on S5 camera app was far superior.
Two small gripes though: 1. The capture image animation is useless. It would be great if it didn't take about 10 seconds for the animation to finish. 2. It's very difficult to seek to particular frames when capturing. This needs to be fixed, as it can become very frustrating and difficult to find a particular spot in a video rather than watching it all the way through to the point where it needs to stop, especially on longer videos.
Great idea. Terrible execution. The code must have been written by a child, it is so busy that it crashes every time you try to take a picture. And the navigation arrows don't work half the time anyway.
I had video of my grandson's little league game and I was able to get great still shots of him hitting the ball. Even ones where the ball and bat connected!! This is great!
Finally, a video-to-image app with precision and the ability to select frames rather than a random one-per-second image. Allows choosing a frame as it appears on screen. Wish it didn't have such a clunky arrow system for choosing the frame (if you pass the snap-to frame, it won't allow you to go back past it) and that it would let you choose where frame images get saved, but those are minor issues. Also, animation of image going into folder is useless and takes forever - but at least the app works right.
The reviews say it all! Sorry I could see this really is the only functional frame extractor on the market despite hundreds of options! The amazing thing, it doesn't even display a single ad! For that alone I knew it would work. It lets you step frame by frame through the video and select the exact one then it extracts a FULL quality jpg! It took me 4 hours but I finally have the still I need! Thank you so much for being a real developer! I thought I was going to have to write this app myself
How do i save captures to my gallery? Also would be nice if frame advance button and pause wasnt so close to bottom bar...i miss my galaxy s4 screen capture that was perfect copy that!!
Found the app I needed, pause your video then click capture, there is no time delay then and no pause symbol stuck in the middle. Super thanks.
I am a pro skater and its good to see what I did wrong but I wish it would organize the videos better so PLEASE fix this
Cant get frames from videos in 2k7 from gopro hero 4. Mx playercan open and play them.
The major issue with this app is that when I hit "Pause" the video doesn't stop at the frame I currently have on my screen, it always goes a number of frames back, so you have to manually get to the frame you actually want. Another issue is that you can't go back in frames, just forward, so when you go over the frame you want by mistake, you have to move the video using the time line and then start to manually go forward until you reach the frame.
Can frame step through 4K videos and grab 8MP stills! Can record your screen at various res/bitrate! Needs ability to choose save directory.
Only recognized a few videos not all, does work on the few but needs work. Samsung s6
Tried a dozen, this was the only one that meaningfully worked.
Does exactly what it says it does. A couple of annoyances (like lag and so forth) though this one surpasses the other frame capture apps I tried.
Works fine but one has to manually drag the play bar, like forwarding the video, then pause and click a picture. It would be nice if the package can convert video into frames that can be selected.
Wow.. where to start? It won't find the last video you shot - so you have to open it from the gallery and "open with.." Then: every time you pause the video, it inexplicably flips the image 180'. There's no consistent rewind/fast forward. If you pause, you can't frame-back, only forward then back to where you paused. At the end of all this, if you *do* manage to grab that frame : it saves it outside your regular photo galleries in a place only this app can access. F**king terrible.
I find it frustrating that I can't easily save all my captures to my phone, I don't want them to appear in the app, I would prefer them in my gallery.
Used app to capture lightening strikes from from a video I shot and it worked great. Just texted the pictures pictures to my daughter. Thanks for the great app!!!
On the Note 4. The video plays in the correct orientation, however when I pause the frame it inverts 180 degrees. When I step, it remains inverted, if I press play it jump back to the correct orientation. I also would like to sort by date. Great app if these things were fixed.
This app takes frames alright. But I think more features would be appreciated. Folder support maybe? And also other video types could be supported?

I don't know why when I screenshot while the video is playing, all my screenshots are of the very first shot I took. This doesn't happen if I pause the vid and then take a shot but it's quite annoying to have to do that everytime. Also by pausing the vid, it creates blurry pictures. I love this app just because I don't have to take screenshots directly from my phone player by pressing the middle button and the power button at the same time. It's awesome to just press one button in the app.
