EveryTask | GTD To-do List for Android
The app is the closest one to implement the GTD with areas goals and vision and all that implemented. I'm yet to see an app that come this faithful to the GTD system. However the developers abandoned this app and it won't receive any updates. So it's time to move on. I recommend nirvana(subscription) or chaos box (one time purchase) these two are actively maintained.
I am just learning about the GTD way of doing things, and this app really seems to do the job simply. I love how a task can be turned into a project with a simple click, which means you can get thoughts out of your head, then look at the detail later with a minimum of fuss. My only reason not to use this app is because it cannot be used for reference easily, everything is a task. Also, no mention of "who" a task is connected to - you have to create tags. The ability to filter all lists by context is AWESOME
This looks and sounds like a good app but I am not able to set up an account and log in. I want to see how it works with multiple devices and the web page. There is no way to recover a username and password. There is a contact email that no one answers. I would still like to try it. If anyone's home, please help.
Lots to like. But: cannot get any response from developer. I have a sync error , I've tried every way that I can to get a hold of the developer, but there is no response. 1. Where is there a forum to discuss? 2. I get sync error when I try to sync with cloud. How can I contact developer? 3. Is there a way to export to a csv delimited file? 4. Oddly if you use speech to text to put a word in the filter, the program will not filter. But if you type it out using the keypad , it does filter.
Best ever, but abandoned sadly. \ Perfect for me! Keeps me straight, moving forward clearly & smoothly more than any other thing I ever used (along with some David Allen YouTube videos on GTD principles). Subtasks would be nice as a pro version, but I'm happy regardless bc tags usually work much better for me! I've had zero problems with any part of this app, it performs perfectly. Would also like dark theme & transparent widget (both with muted colors, easy & tasteful on eyes please). What can we do to support you better?? <3
I cannot get it to sync to the web, I can't log into the web at all and I have tried to contact the company for over 2 weeks and not a single response. It has some nice features but for my multitasking I have to have web access. Please fix this since I had to pay to have the web access that does not work.
This app is the only one I've found that really fits the GTD method. However, it hasn't been updated in 2 years and the interface is really starting to look dated. The cloud sync is clunky and it doesn't support a lot of new things like Android Wear. I'll keep using it until I find something better, but it's definitely not the flashiest app out there. It's like a dependable 10 year old Honda. It'll get you places reliably, but you're not getting there in style or comfort.
I wish scheduled tasks would roll over to Next actions when their start dates arrive. Otherwise, I have no issues with this app. Excellent UI and functionality. just please please implement this one change and you'll have a five star from me.
It's simple and fast, and designed around GTD. This is the first app that pushed me to do GTD proper. Downsides are that it's missing a few features and I'm not sure I can trust it to move tasks around properly, it doesn't seem to always work. Really wishing they add Calendar sync for tasks that have due dates.
Too many features are not fully implemented for a paid app. For example, Goals & Vision are not connected to anything; project status doesn't change task visibility; no Help, getting started, FAQ. Right now I'm unable to login to web app, so reliability is a concern. There's potential here for a great app. I'll check back in 6 months.
When all other aps excell in specific area, it surely will have disadvantage at some other area. For more popular similar aps I try to this day (my be there some other Im not test it yet). But you the developer really nail it and when I think about daily task the most important is date and reccuring task. And ability to sort task with multiple context. Thanks a lot dev.. (edit) if you read this comment please continue your great work. You are now helpng if not all bt surely some ppl like me 2 hv btr 2mrw :)
This was a great app to keep a ton of different tasks organized, and I signed up for the subscription service. However, on my new phone I can't restore from my Dropbox backup. I have many repeat tasks and the chore of re-entering them all is daunting. Why am I paying for this when it won't back up or sinc, and my bug reports have not been answered? If there isn't a fix soon I'll be canceling my account, unfortunately.
I love this app apart from three small issues that need to be fixed before it can be 5 stars. The app doesn't support split screen. the web app needs the ability to set times by minute, not just quarter hours and when editing a the title of an item (project, next action, inbox) from the list layout while in the default alphabetical sorting order, if the first letter is changed the item will be resorted, removing you from the title dialogue box.
Just started with this app and so far I'm loving it. Its simple but has some nice features and from what i can tell sticks well to the GTD method. Subscribed for the web sync too and all seems to be working well. Would be great if completing a task from the waiting list automatically brought in the next task just like it does from the next list.
With the effort and thoughts given by the developers for GTD fanatics , 5 stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Though setting the schedule of day & time s a bit buggy. You input the desired time on those dials, and when you close that window, the indicated time isn't what you inputted. There's a work around, but it complicates what is supposed to be a basic operation, and considering that this s a feature of no problem in other numerous apps. Long comment re the bug, but doesn't mean I don't highly appreciate this app. Thanks!
I tried many gtd apps and this is my favourite. I had a few issues in syncing though, hence the 4 out of 5. EDIT: Chaos Control paid version its now my top choice, though not as GTD faithful as EveryTask, provides export to calendar, placing of next actions into a dynamic calendar line (provides automated todo list for every day), and one-time payment for backup feature (instead of 24$ every year here!!)

The app follows all gtd guidelines perfectly and has a beautiful interface, except for the widget. [EDIT] I was able to sync more than one device by reinstalling the app after upgrading. Even so, it is sort of annoying having to force sync on both devices to keep them updated. Nevertheless, a great app for anyone trying to follow gtd!
This app REALLY helps organise things. It is FAR better than its competitors. It is easy to link goals with projects and projects with actions; and you see those links all the time. You can also assign priorities, tags and do other nice stuff. The only thing I'd add is task/project progress indication. To wrap up, a big THANK YOU to the developers!

The scrolling list is way too long , I want to keep it simple as 3 lists. And the rest can be accessed through the menu.
Some niggles. Reminders don't seem to alarm! How do I cope with my sieve brain? Also,... Why don't task titles automatically start with a capital letter? Looks scruffy without. Could do with a dark theme.
Good product but no response from the company after having emailed them 3 times regarding a support issue.
Seriously? Once you created the account in the app, you can't log out. But it won't tell you which email you used, so you can't sign in the website, which btw doesnt have any form to retrieve passwords. What's the point?! Even if you uninstall the app and reinstall it, it will keep you logged in. There's no account information in Accounts & Sync... I thought in going premium, but this is a really bad practice. Switching to something else..
The interface is quite clunky. You cannot edit an already existing project which forces you to put it in another list to do it...
After days of searching I've found an app that gets it. I thought omnifocus was my only choice. Nice job guys!
Any chance you could integrate with Zapier?
No help file or user guide - don't know how to register an email address to access the web UI or to send emails direct to the application inbox
Great gtd tool, but App is not letting me register as a new user to be able to use premium features.
Get u organized in a clean no ad type of way. Works so well ill upgrade
This app is more true to the David Allen Getting Things Done system than any of the many others I have used, but the lack of a function to sync with my Google Calendar is a deal killer. I will be cancelling my premium account and uninstalling
Love the app but have no need of the web based application. Unfortunately all backup options are tied in to premium offering and I refuse to pay nearly £1.50 a month just to back up my tasks to my own sdcard. Add local backup option to free version and I'll rate 5 stars.
I especially like the goals /vision list. Great job.
Great app, but can't register as new user to sync with the web.
It's excellent for managing multiple task. Some suggestions though, 1) ability to add a separate note within any heading eg planned 2 if can't be, at least allow note/outcome to be seen after a task title 3)interlink area to vision to goals, if you click say health under area, related goal or vision appears and better if task can also be linked to a related area or goal 4)subtasking 5)can you make the number of task contained in a list appear on the side menu eg Today (4).Nwys, many thanks,
Trying to use the web site after subscribing but I can't sync or log in. Is this a common issue? Nexus 5 on 4.4.4. I notice the website login is having certificate issues. Otherwise it's the best tool ever of all time.
Needs a way to see the contexts from all categories in one window. Eg. Im shopping for groceries and I open up my @groceries context. But I have to check all tabs (Next, Waiting, etc) to make sure I don't miss any because I'm not able to see it in one window.
This is the best app for gtd I've seen so far. I encourage you to keep it updated once it's still a beta version.
My suggest is: add the possibility to see tags below the name of the task. You may add a qickly switch button that alllow the possibility to see 'contest' or 'tag' below the name of the task. Anyway I like it very much. P.S. Maybe you can add in Horizons the Mission menu, a such of note when user can write his mission on life, in this case remeber possibility to protect this note with a password.
