Instead of spending $600-$1000 on a cellular trail camera, use your old smartphone or inexpensive $15 prepaid smartphone for remote monitoring. It's easy. Simply download the App, mount your smartphone in the field, and start enjoying the view from anywhere. Captures start automatically each day at sunrise and sunset, and are uploaded over a 3G/4G cellular network to the cloud (your personal Dropbox account) where they can be accessed from anywhere. Since WildlifeCam does not rely on infrared triggers which only work out to 50 feet, it is perfect for scouting open areas hundreds of yard away to see where deer and turkey are entering and exiting a field or for if the ducks have showed up on the pond yet. Hours of footage can be reviewed in minutes on your computer in rapid slideshow mode. Settings are fully adjustable keeping your under a 2GB monthly data plan limit. I never actually used this as a trail cam but I gave it a good test run around the house for about two weeks. The over-sized "water mark" essentially makes this free app useless unless you decide to purchase the full version. Also, for as long as the app was installed, I noticed that my phone's sound was constantly being muted. Once I uninstalled the app this problem ceased. Overall, I like the idea and the implementation (mostly).

Tested it out and it takes 30 minutes of time lapse video every day at sunrise and sunset and uploads it to Dropbox via cellular. Very cool! I'm planning to get a few prepaid phones and set them up running the app on my farm for this hunting season.

I've wanted to remotely monitor a remote hunting hole for a while, but did not want spend $550 for a cellular connected trail camera. Now I just use my old phone that was collecting dust. For $120 I can buy weather proof case, and 2 external Li-on batteries and I'm good to go.

Very disappointeded.... I wouldn't mind a small watermark, or even if it was placed to one side. However the watermark covers almost the entire picture and is barely transparent. So I can't tell the picture quality. Most annoying is the app continuously sets the phone used for remote control to mute, which caused me to miss an important call.
