Plant Nanny - Water Reminder for Android
Love it, This app is easy and fun to use. It makes me want to drink water just so I can make my plant grow. It's so cute. The only draw back I have noticed is that if you change phones all your progress is lost even though it's connected to Google play app. Plus if you actually add extra water you can't remove it. But in all its a cool app.
This is a fantastic app -- very helpful with keeping healthy. I think I would really benefit from a water log. The reminders are great but, it would be nice to have this app also keep track of WHEN I logged my drinks. I tend to drink too much (crazy, right?), and the human body can only process about 0.7 - 1.0 L of water an hour. In order to remain safe, and not hurt myself via water overdose(again, bizarre), it would be nice if the app would track intake per hour.
Absolutely one of my favorite apps! Cute and very useful, it has helped me tremendously especially when I was recovering from moderate dehydration last summer. My only complaint is that it isn't movable to SD card storage; it has to stay on internal storage. I would appreciate it if the developers made it an option.
This is a brilliant app that combines the fun of growing and collecting with personal health. The reminder system is nice and customizable and can help you stay hydrated. However, towards the heavier-weight end of the spectrum, this app can advise an excess of water which has the potential to be dangerous. If you feel like you're getting overhydrated/water-logged, I advise changing your weight to a drinking level more beneficial to you. Otherwise, a great app!
This app easily gives me a recommended amount that is twice that if what I need. It should allow custom daily amounts instead of swing it at their own recommendation. Also, it would bet nice if it didn't stop letting you water the plant. I forget to log what I drink some days and it stops you from logging anymore at a certain point, killing the plant.
Keep track of your water intake. This app makes you drink over your recommended goal before acknowledging that you've reached your goal. For example, my daily water intake goal is 80 oz I drank 2 30 oz cups, 1 12 oz cup and 1 8 oz cup of water; which equals 80 oz. However, this app said that I hadn't reached my goal and still needed to drink 1 8 oz cup of water to reach my goal. Please fix this and you'll have a 5 star rating from me.
I am horrible about drinking water. Installing this app has made me better about it, because it gives me motivation to drink. If I don't drink water, I'm killing my plant, and that makes me feel incredibly guilty. The plants are adorable and it's fun to watch them grow! Tl;dr drink water or you're a plant muderder
Love the game, all the plants are super cute and it helps me out a lot with staying hydrated. The notifications aren't super intrusive which makes me way less anxious. Only complaint is that I lost all my plants when I reset my phone even though I had been logged into my google play account when I used it.
It really helps me drink more water! However, I'd like the option to choose my own daily water goal. My doctor and nutritionist said I do NOT need to drink more than 64oz a day, let alone 104oz.... That's just ridiculous.
A plant simulator is a surprisingly effective way of tracking and maintaining one's water intake. I like how amounts of liquid can be set instead of a vague "8 glasses a day." I do hope more variables can be added, like seasons/temperature, which may vary how much water one really needs.
I love this! It's so cute. My only suggestion is to make the app able to be ran, even when closed. My water reminder doesn't show up until I open the app, which by then is pointless. I also really wish there was a way to add friends! It'd be cute to add friends and be able to give them a push, like a reminder to drink when you see their plant sad!
Great app to keep me drinking water with cute plants.. but I wish there were alarms of notifications closer than every 2 hours. Also option shud be there to input our daily target, not just the suggested requirement.. other than that Great App
Good app and has encouraged me to drink more water. However, wish there were more plants released. I've had to start having duplicates. My boyfriend stopped using his because of this. The iphone version seemed to have more - space ones. Also wish there was a 'collect all seeds' option, you could still interact with the plants once planted, pay to remove ads and edit past days. More plants please!
My mom was always telling me to drink water but I would always forget, so she told me to download this app! :) It's a really cute and fun app. And it's also helpes me a lot. Because when I'm playing on my phone, it says that my plant is thirsty.....so I get up and drink water. :) I don't think you need to fix anything..... I LOVE IT!!!
Having great fun with this. Struggled at first to hit my daily target (3.5 litres daily!!) but with practise have made it and feel so much better. Only time in my life I have felt really motivated to up my water intake - the animations and sound effects are just so cute! Also really like how you can customise and store regular favourite drink sizes so you can add whether you've been drinking from your mug at work, a bottle of water etc. Cool app!
Cute but there are better and more accurate water tracking apps. Had to search through the settings just to figure out how to change the ml to oz. Not much of a tutorial so Goodluck. You are supposed to take your body weight and divide by 2, that'll give you the RIGHT AMOUNT of water to drink. 170lbs drinking 105oz is way over that limit. Cute idea, poor execution.
The app serves as an adorable reminder to stay hydrated. Love the art. Goal of growing your plant helps motivate drinking water. I wish it had a better way to remind you and it doesn't suggest how frequently through the day you should drink. It basically just records how much you drank and how much you need to drink. Getting extra pots and stuff seems expensive. Suggestion: frequent reminders to drink all thoughout the day. Calculate in coffee & tea.
I love this app, especially his it encourages you to drink 7 glasses if water a day, and to motivate you to do so, it uses cute little plants that you can collect! The only thing it could work on is removing adds, it ruins the presentation of the app, but I guess they've got to make money some how. Anyway, love the app and would recommend it to anyone who has troubles with drinking enough water.
Love this cute little helpful app which has accfually made a big difference to how much i drink. I do thinkbthat alot more can be added, like more levels or more plants and not so much based on watching adverts for seeds... maybe a little more randomness on how they grow and maybe go droppy when you havent drunk enough. Lots of ideas could be thoughtof. I hope they keep on updating. You could also add havesting and more growing spots and infrastucture. A better currency system with being able to sell plants
All the different types of plants are adorable. Love how you can customize so many things like reminder frequency, bottle look/volume, background, pots, plants, etc. Keeps you healthy. This app is oddly motivating. The plants have faces and look soooo sad when they are dehydrated. You feel so bad you start chugging water like, "Live! Live tiny virtual plant I am strangely attached to!" :)
I love this app. Unfortunately when I got a new phone I lost all my progress and plants and that actually made stopped me from starting over for a month. I'm back but it would be nice to have my plants back. Either way has helped me increase my water needs. Also should have customizable goals. 13cups a day is incredibly hard to reach when you first start off and aren't even used to 5 cups a day. Its easier now but had to fake a weight and activity level to get to the 10 cups I'm aiming for now.
I love this app because it is cute and useful. The interface keeps me coming back because it is simple, but enjoyable. However, I have questioned the amount I am supposed to drink from day one. It seemed extremely high and I've been told you should drink about half your weight (ie. weigh 100lbs = drink 50oz). When I tinkered my number it was much more manageable, so I would be aware of how much water you should actually be drinking.
Great in theory, but since it doesn't link to an account... Last year, I switched cell phone service providers, and the new phone didn't manage to get the saved data from this app. I reinstalled it again today, and it still isn't an option. I wouldn't have minded starting over again if I at least knew it wouldn't happen again. (I average 6~9 months per phone, I am rough on them)
This is such a great app for me, even though instill forget to drink water sometimes.
I love this app! I drink so much more water now so it really fulfills it's purpose. It's fun to see the plant evolving, which is a great visual of the progress I make. However it is a little confusing to figure out because there are no instructions or explanations. It would also be interesting if other liquids could be included like coffee or tea and the effect that has on hydration.
Great app! Helps me drink water. Very cute idea with the plants! Only thing is I needed to change how many fluid oz/mL in each serving of water after I had already selected the amount in the beginning. I couldn't find a way to change it after it was locked in without having to uninstall and install again, so make sure you know your serving of water per glass before selecting.
So I'm drinking more water now because I can't bear to let that little virtual plant die. Those sad little eyes! Suggestions for improvement: offer a paid version with no ads, allow editing for previous days, add time recording to entries and allow editing of times. I would like to see a graph of when I tend to consume water the most/least. Thanks for such a cute and helpful app!
This app is SO Fun and Healthy. It was so cool to see your plant growing, the app figures the proper amount of water for you to be drinking. Then it reminds me when I need to drink. I have had trips to emergency due to dehydration. When I had been to see my cardiologist for my annual check up. He commented on how much better my heart was working, the murmer that was quite pronounced before was barely there. This was only because I had become a "Plant Nanny"
This app is super cute and I love that you can be so accurate with how many ounces of water you're drinking. My only problem is that this app only works for people with a normal daytime schedule. I work nights, so this app is pretty much impossible for me to use even though I want to. The water reminder only happens from 8am to 10pm and resets for the next day at midnight. Please add an option to customize the time for your schedule. If it wasn't for that it would've been 5 stars.
Love the app and hopefully the next update will allow users to edit their water consumtion records. Keep up the good work! (Note : Items are hard to get as they required alot of seeds XD) As dated 161016, there's a problem whereby water intake is not being recorded anymore. Please Kindly fixed it if not all our plants will die!
I found that when I cut soda out of my diet, I needed something to keep me on track. I came across this by chance and it helped me better than anything else I've ever tried. I have this sense of responsibility to water this plant and myself so we can both stay hydrated and healthy. I haven't had a soda since February 2016. Love this app!
My only complaint about this app is that you do have to learn how the app works because very little is explained. Thankfully most of it is intuitive. I do wish they don't tell you "one more glass" when you need to drink something like 40 oz (which is 5 glasses in my mind). My guess is that they stretch out the amount you need to drink per body weight and divide it by 8 glasses. Otherwise, extremely fun for tracking my hydration.
This app is awesome for helping me drink through the day. I can sync it to my garmin watch so it gives a better notification. My only issue is I recently upgraded phones, and while the faq says to get the google play games app to save and back up info, it did not work. So now I have to start from scratch.
It's a gentle reminder to keep hydrated throughout the day, but the amounts to drink are off based on weight so be careful. You should know how much water you should be drinking for your current weight so your can know how much water your should be drinking. Then you'll have to input a different weight (than your true weight) to get the correct amount of ounces you want to be drinking. It's a little convoluted, but it's a work around. Once you get that figured out and inputted, then it's a fun way to track your water intake.
The app is great because it reminds me to drink the proper amount of water and encourages me so my cute plants stay alive. The only con I see is the serious lag when I'm trying to harvest seeds from the garden. I don't mind the pop-up ad but it takes a half a minute for the plant to release the seed, and when I swipe to the side I'm always being moved back to the first plant (if that makes any sense). Love the app but would appreciate a slight tweak. Thanks for an awesome app!
I loved a lot about this app, but there are a few major dislikes: 1. Does not transfer plants between devices 2. No new plants added in the past year 3. App no longer opens on my phone 4. Notifications sucked - often didn't remind me as per scheduled, and would often notify me to drink more water after having just watered the plants and closed the app. Apart from that, the plants were cute and I enjoyed the concept.
I've used other apps, but the gamification aspect with this one really keeps me consistent. The only thing I'd change would be to add a delete feature for accidentally added drinks. The ability to add to a certain day would be useful too. Otherwise, I'm very happy with it!
Well, it's aesthetic, fun and sweet as a tamaguchi. I like that my way to water the plant is via actual drinking (unless I cheat). As a person that doesn't drink almost at all, it really helps me to drink more water than I would have without the app. Sweetness and a lovely zen light do the job so far :)
I really love this app, it has definitely helped me stay hydrated, and it's so fun to water the plant as you hydrate yourself. Super helpful. The only thing I dislike is that when I got a new phone my previous plants didn't transfer :(

Free water intake reminder with a sweet twist. Best part...my kids told me about it and they love having a collection of plants ;) Cute little plants to grow! No purchase necessary, to get more seeds you just need to watch am ad. Your choice they aren't forced on you. Love that. But if you want to skip that step them go ahead and purchase. It supports the app and give you a great deal!
