This needs to be fixed. Constant phone battery drain is unacceptable. Having to force close an app just so it stops killing the battery is unacceptable. When an app is minimized on Android it's supposed to stop running. Please fix this.

Latest update is worse than the previous version. You've managed to complicate tasks that were simple before. Congratulations

With version 2, I'm suffering the following 2 issues: a) Quick battery drain (not an issue on previous version). It is consuming 45% of my battery with the following stats: -CPU Total: 13m 37s -CPU foreground: 26s -Keep awake: 0s -Mobile packets received: 99672 -Mobile packets sent: 119167 -Mobile radio active: 5h 23m 25s -Computed power used: 1014 mAh b) Broken firmware upgrade (not an issue on previous version) I have a C1 camera

Just received the app update and must say, it is a huge improvement! Only a few translation issues and for a suggestion, I would love to see an option for 12 hour time with AM and PM for scheduling things in the app.

Finally Foscam got it right. I never understood why I can always connect online, but never remotely via my phone. It works great while at home, but rarely to never away from home. What is the sense of having a wireless cam if you can access it? The latest build of the app addressed and fixed that. Before I just got a spinning circle and no connection. Now it connects almost immediately via 4g cell service. Happy customer now

Terrible.!!!! Ever since you made the version upgrade, the app doesn't work properly. After several frustrating, mind boggling tries, it opens up and then closes again. Do you know how nerve wrecking it is to be out of the house and try to watch with the camera, but can't? IT'S A NIGHTMARE!! The old version was fine. EITHER FIX THIS STUPID APP OR BRING THE OLD ONE BACK!!

Almost impossible to access from outside the local network. Features blocked so you can buy their plans. Used to be able to see recordings on sd card, now that's gone because they want you to buy cloud. Shaddt crappy company do not buy from them!

Works great and easy to set up. I think the cloud storage option is a bit overpriced though. People who are not having this work from within their own network need to check into their router or ISP issues. I do not have that problem and I believe its network related and not app related.

LATEST UPDATE: Like others have said it has gotten worse. Only used the app for firmware updates, but that no longer works. Useless except for pushing cloud services. Original review: I used this app for setup only, but left it installed. I noticed the next day it used almost 60% of the battery even when it was never opened. There is a much better app with Tiny in the name.

Latest update is rubbish. Can not view the camera remotely. worked fine before. Now I've got to buy a new camera but it won't be a fiscal it seems that if you've got older cameras they deliberately stop them working so you buy a new one.

Latest "upgrade" removed the only useful feature this app had, which was the camera position presets. Now all it does is try to annoy you into buying cloud services from foscam. Steaming pile of crap.

Hard to believe, but the latest version is even worse than the previous one. If I could give it -1 stars, it would still be too many. What a complete pile of steaming pink chiffon.

With every "update", this app just keeps getting worse. Now you have to go through screen after screen of "hints" that just make the app less user friendly. And now, my cameras that used to be able to use the cloud are apparently obsolete and no longer compatible with the cloud. I guess FOSCAM thinks I'll rush right out and buy new cameras. Guess again.

This is horrible if I could return these dam cameras I would immediately. This app is horrible. The app is never live it's always delayed what's the sense in having a security camera if there is Nothing but a spinning circle.

The latest update is horrible. The audio is terrible through the app. What is the point of having two way audio if i can't use it at all. I can't hear the sound or communicate through the camera. Absolute CRAP!

New user interface needs work. Clearing alarms is very clumsy. Seeing only one day at a time does not work well. Let me see all alarms at once if I want.

I really like the app. Set up was very easy. I was concerned when reading other's ratings but I honestly had no problem with this app and set up. I can view the camera anytime I want to. I figured out how to use this on WiFi and without WiFi. Very happy with it. The ONLY thing that bothers me is that this app drains the crap out of my phone. That is really annoying.

I seldom have problems connection to my three cameras with this app, but I sure was surprised when I checked my battery stats and discovered that 40% of my severe (and not typical) battery drain was this app, even though I was no longer connected to the cameras or using alerts, etc. That's just a poorly written app, and frankly with all this Chinese cyber spying crap going on, it makes me a little paranoid about the purpose of this app. I now only use this app to initially configure or reconfigure the cameras. Otherwise, I use the web interface or the 3rd party app, TinyCam Pro, which is a VASTLY superior app to the Foscam app. Also, the popup ads in this app are at ridiculous spam levels. You can't touch the screen without it popping up a full page ad for their cloud storage service (that no one uses). Nexus 6 + Android 7. 1 Nougat

Ever since the new update, the camera time keeps resetting on its own. I have to sync it with the phone every hour. Also sd video playback had stopped working on the app even before the update.

The new update is stupid. The cloud occupy half of the screen in portrait mode. I don't have cloud service so why forcing it onto customers like me?

Was working decent for what I needed but today I can't view remotely from a PC browser. Keeps asking me to install the plugin. I complete the install but still doesn't work. Tried on Chrome & Firefox - same message. Works on my phone though so camera is working.

Since the update can't get it to connect externally. What a waste of time. If only you could downgrade easily. Why they try to get you to purchase the cloud services i do not know.

The first time I have ever rated an app. Killed my wife's battery and my battery so fast the charging couldn't keep up. Once we found out it was this app, then we stopped it. Perfect battery since.

App never works remotely. Make manual adjustments via ip cam directly and updates keep messing it up. Works great when on the intranet. Piece of junk otherwise unfortunately.

New interface optimised for live video, alarm messages, album and camera settings pages? -- Optimised for selling cloud features you mean!!! Hide that silly bar which takes 50% of the screen! Also adds with an application that you need with a product that cost you over 100 bucks?

Foscam user since 2007!!! App update crashes all the time. Not able to control my FI9821W V2. PLEASE FIX IT. This review doesn't seems to be helpful, as the Company, apparently don't care about users disappointment about their products and app. So far, I'm considering to buy RING Products. Just bought the RING Doorbell, and it's just Amazing.

Latest update is awful. Trying to find another app now. How can I revert to previous version?

Present position is quite essential when using custom motion detection areas... How could it be missed off the new release. Foscam can't seem to get anything right.

The new update is just terrible. Seriously, are they doing this on purpose? I don't get it.

New app looks better, with less functionality.. for instance you can't move the camera to predifined positions with simple dropdown menus anymore. This makes changing the camera scenes a pain over a slower internet connection. This is the main benefit of having a remote camera with rotation and tilt to cover a larger area when away from home. I am disappointed in the developers throwing practicality out the window for the sake of looks or just to release something incomplete. There are so many settings missing from the app, that are now only accesable through the web browser. This is a backwards move, wish I can roll back to the previous version.

Since upgrade of the app, the sd card is not recognised any more. It worked well with the previous version. Obviously you want to push users to pay for the cloud subscription. I am also not able any more to connect to the camera (a FI9853EP) when I am not on the same LAN. Without live view and without recording on SD, what's the point in using Foscam for home surveillance? There is also still no option to set the field of detection. This is even possible with the old foscam viewer... A huge step backwards, I wish I had kept the previous version...

Absolute crap. It connects to the camera only one out of 20 tries. Push messages are delivered hours or days after an event. Hire some decent programmers or you'll be out of business sooner than you think.

I cant for the life of me figure out why a security camera company does not allow multi camera view in the app. I have 2 foscam R2 and the only way to view them in multi camera view is through IE browser. Thats right this app wont let you, chrome/firefox cant but in IE browser it can....REALLY!?!?!

Total rubbish. Always fails to connect to certain cameras, despite the old Foscam Viewer app being fine with exactly the same credentials etc. The same held for V1 of this app which had total myopia for some connects. This version also locks up when adding cameras. How can Foscam get it so, so, wrong?

WTF I have no way of changing the HD settings and my one camera (which was working perfectly this morning before the app update) is now stuck in daylight mode. NO IR night vision!! Yes I tried the schedule for IR but nothing happens. Please roll us back to the old app until you get your bugs sorted. PLEASE!!

The updates for this app have been progressively worse than the one before. Now the actual camera portion works 20 percent of the time but amazingly the spam around it works great. Usually I have to back out two or three times to get it to restore. IF YOUR APP WORKS WELL PEOPLE WILL BUY YOUR CLOUD SVC. That is your advertisement. this app does NOT work very well. I'm going to tell POTUS Trump about your garbage app and be sure taxes your goods at a higher rate. WALL

Dont buy cloud. Now the camera is usless. hiw can i use it without 3G functionality? If i need to use home wifi then there is no need for the camera in the first place. I subscribed to cloud services and paid for it then you tell me my camera is not supported for cloud? I need a refund. Thank god i paid for one month only. Totally not recommended, neither the camera or the app.

Can only connect on outside network and 4g by deleting and re-adding camera every time I want to view it! Also push notifications are inconsistent, sometimes work but most of the time don't!? Fix the problems and I'll re-review.

Latest update made things even worse! How sad for really great cameras, to have to rely on such useless applications to work.

No complaints for 15 months now, A+... only complaint as of yet would give the consumer who pays you, (for your great service) the choice to decided where that individual (foscam camera owner) the right to where they want to store there recordings.. easy but I get it $$$
