When choosing to translate or search for a word, these functionalities come with 2 forms:
*The floating widget service which looks similar to the famous chathead.
*The notification service if you find the floating service annoying.
And of coarse you can use both services at the same time.

Both search and translate functionalities have things in common such as the three buttons:
*Clear: for clearing the textbox, useful in repetitive operations.
*Voice: uses the google voice service and inputs what you spoke in the textbox.
*Paste: for quick pasting from the clipboard.

*For the search functionality ,it is quite straight forward.
*As for the translation functionality , you have two services to use where results are expanded in a sublist of the services you click so you can view or copy the results.
Plus these results are cached so you can re translate them later offline.
