Ford Remote Access for Android
I would give it more that 3 if you could see fuel level. Temps. And more status' for your vehicle. You pay 49.99 a year. You should have more options than unlocking, locking, and starting it. Seems like it's and little pricy for the minimum put into the app
After creating an account for my Ford mustang it wouldn't let choose my vehicle to get started. Terrible app
The app crashes. It is not up to date for the new S7 os. Would like it if it worked better. Errors out and does not work every time.
After creating my account, it doesn't let me add my 2016 Explorer. Useless App!!
Use to Work great. The update somehow killed the connection. wished there were more features like tracking incase of theft and maybe temperature.
Installed it and it did absolutely nothing waste of time.
Simply useless piece of "code" if you know what I mean
There is no user interface, no option to even load my brand new 2017 f150
Turned my focus into a "BB Lincoln" LOL
App is garbage, it does nothing
Doesn't have an option for me to add my vehicle.
Wouldn't let me add my truck
Useless. Cmon guys
Doesn't work at all
It does nothing.
Perfectly useless app.
Lately it works about 25% of the time.
Works about 50% of the time.
Useless app
I had drone mobile on a previous vehicle and missed it enough to pay for the remote access parts and install them myself. The menu button is accessible on Android devices by holding the back button. This gives you full access to all app features. If you don't like the fact it's a paid service, don't buy it and quit whining.
I think 99% of the people who wrote a review have no idea that you need to purchase a module at time of vehicle purchase, ($400,00). It's worked perfect on our Expedition every time. $35.00 a year to run the app. My only complaint is the lack of additional features like the ability to activate air or heating, locate vehicle or roll down the windows. It's great as a starter when you're out of range of your remote.
Would be nice if there were more features in the app but it does what its supposed to. For those that don't know how to get to the settings (as I didnt and it was my biggest pet peeve) press and hold the back button and it all pops up. Much better now
This is supposed to be an app designed by Ford to remote start your cart? The app looks like it was designed by a bored teenager on a Friday night. It wants you to create a login to bring you to a screen that says you have no vehicles listed and no instructions on how to set up the app or anything. It's an awesome idea but it'd be great if they set it up like a real app.
For one, it said my email was already in use. That's physically impossible being that this is my first time using a ford app. Second, after I got past that step. It just says "no vehicles" there's no where on the app for settings, setting up a car or anything. Just a blank page with no options. (Galaxy note 4 - 2014 ford fusion titanium)
First off, you have to have the remote start cell phone module to use this app. So it's only for a select audience. When you setup the cell phone remote start with Ford they give you the codes you need to make app work. Once it's setup it works just fine IMO. I have had a couple of fail to starts but that's likely the cell phone connection at the vehicle vs the app. I would like a few extra features added like rolling down the windows or something but the app works as advertised.
I spent a lot of money on a car starter & still have to pay an annual fee for a product that 1/4 of the time doesn't work & I live in MN, I definitely need this to work! Very very frustrating to constantly have a an error message telling me it can't complete the command, even when I am parked right outside my window. Makes absolutely no sence. Tried it connected & not connected to my WiFi in case that would help. Restarted my phone. The whole 9 yards.0
Just downloaded this and got the "no vehicles saved". Sooo I went online and Google searched for Ford Remote Access and went to one of the websites that Google found. It asked me to sign in so I used my credentials that I used at registration. A whole lot of stuff came up and I found out why my phone had no saved vehicles....you have to register it/them from the computer, not the app. After this tried the app again, and same message...uninstalled app, reinstalled it and when I signed in it worked!
The Onstar mobile app gives me access to more features and does not ask me for $50 bucks. When I don't even know if this app would work and at what level asking for a big fee without proof of functionality...... Wrong!
Features that work on iPhone don't exist for android. You can't set a wakeup time if your vehicle has not been used for more than a few days
So I buy a new fully loaded 2016 Flex with remote start. Then I think, I wounder if they have an app so I don't have to carry the fob in my pocket. To my surprise they do. Down load the app and it makes you enter ypur email and set up a password then it makes you read the legal disclaimer that says there is a $50 annual fee! B.S. this should be free. Also Sync sucks! Makes me want to take a hammer to it.
First of all make sure the software is dealer installed. The trial is only good for 3days then its $49 for 12months. I bought a 2016 explorer had the software installed for $300 and i love it. I start my vehicle from anywhere to warm it up.(im in Michigan). No issues easy to use and convenient. You can set the timer for 15, 30mins to warm car or send signal to find in parking lot.
Definitely could use more features and functionality. Local Ford dealerships were clueless that this even existed. Some consumer marketing would have been helpful.
For one, it said my email was already in use. That's physically impossible being that this is my first time using a ford app. Second, after I got past that step. Dealership installed it, then i downloaded app at dealership and it wont work on my galaxy s6, the app states no vehicle, has anyone been able to get a dealership refund, I rather go with the viper, its half the price and Geek Squad will install it for that amount. Also left messages with the stealership and ford and no return call yet, it has been week since i contacted both.
Only reason I went with this remote start is because of pretty much plug & play as long as your dealer had a clue. Sometimes or works, sometimes or doesn't. Spin Dance is the company you pay for the annual subscription, and they're even more clueless than most dealers. They blame everything on your vehicle. Meanwhile, people all over the country are have the same issues. Trash.
Had to update my previous review... this starter has progressively gotten worse each year. Now I'm 50/50 whether my truck will start or not. Definitely not reliable at this point. It has connection issues if I'm on wifi or 4G. Don't think I will repurchase.
I bought hardware ($400) and installed it (20 minutes plug and play) into my 2013 Platinum. Taught the dealer how to activate it. Used it for the three day trial period for free. Paid the $50 yearly fee. Worked the following morning then nothing but server errors. Works from web site. Android app still requires a android version 3 menu button - very lame! Seriously needs an update. Should be included with a $60,000 truck. UPDATED: So I have been using this now for two months and it has worked every single day since the day after I posted the first comment. I changed my rating from a 1 star to a 4 star. I would give it a five star if the Menu button in the application wasn't missing on my version of Android (5.1.1). I have only had service errors (i.e. the remote starter doesn't find your profile to talk to your truck) on two occasions since I installed it. Works great! It is nice to get into a warm truck after a mile walk from the office to the lot in zero degree weather. And no scraping of the windshield! It still should be included with the cost of the truck though!
You would think that the biggest car company can make a better app. I have been using this app for 1 year now and not a single new feature. Get to together Ford!
I am going to review good and not so good. Not So Good: It is pricy for the option. I think the retail is $389 plus you need to purchase a security VSS module which is another $229. Then unless you have Ford analytical equipment you will need to have a dealer plug into the car and activate the modules so the car recognizes them. This install is about $150. Finally you have to link and subscribe for $49 per year. Most Ford dealerships do not know this option exists. I called at least 5 dealerships in the Chicago area until I found one that had a clue as to what it is. I ordered the parts online from Ford because dealership was confused on what part numbers were required. I gave them instructions for install as well. Need a few more options such as a little more status updates or alerts. I know some of this is available in MySync but it would me nice to have in one spot.. Good things: It works once installed Suggestions: I think there is a plan for a new type of mobile communication coming soon that is very similar to OnStar. But until then offer the module free on new cars. GMC has no charge for the option besides the subscription price. Train your dealerships better.

First I'm having issues getting the car to send the Singapore saying that the car has started or will not start both have great cell signal that is not the issue. Two the app is uggly and should be able to do more see inside vehicle temp see gps location of car. I recommend viper smart start over fords their car security is better with option for microwave motion detection. App is nicer and with other three vehicles never had a problem.
