SWARM - Automatic WiFi for Android
Preferred Network Mode is great. I'm automatically connecting to only the networks I choose. Great on xfinity network!
Keeps me connected as well as possible- so much that I don't even have or need a data plan anymore! Thanks dev!
There is a reason phones don't auto connect to open wifi, it is a security vulnerability for mitm. Instantly removed.
Wow! I've been looking for an app to automatically log me into hotspots and to manage the wifi radio (from a scan rate perspective) for a long time. I've tried Tasker routines and other apps such as WiFi Ruler with limited success. SWARM differentiates itself from other apps in the following manner: (1) the UI is very clean and simple, (2) you can blacklist particular APs, and (3) you can enable or disable APs with captive portals. Both the blacklisting and enable/disable of captive portals is done simply by long-pressing on an AP and selecting the appropriate action. I can't say for sure how much SWARM is reducing my battery usage, but the concept of controlling the scan rate based on my movements (walking around vs driving) is awesome. This app together with my Republic Wireless Moto X is a dream come true. The Republic Wireless app has the capability to store and replay actions that I take in order to get through captive portals. With SWARM, the two apps allow me to optimize my use of wifi. Just awesome!!!

Application didn't seem to work.
I've used several Wifi auto connect apps, and so far SWARM is my favorite by far. Reliably auto connects me to available open networks, even with my Republic Wireless Moto X in my pocket, and avoids those which won't dispatch me an ip address. Note if you find yourself disconnected from your home network, your phone's system software may have a wpa bug like mine. Try disabling wpa, that solved the issue for me. This IS NOT SWARM's fault.
Does exactly what it says. My one complaint is the lack of blacklist options. If you could set it to a whitelist mode to automatically connect between a predefined list of networks, the app would be less of a security risk.
Picks up every WiFi signal and connects you instantly if there's free WiFi around you
