3000 Sunsets

This app is designed to assist in developing the habit of living an intentional life filled with gratitude. Each day at sunset, the app will remind you to pause and reflect on the lessons, blessings, and joy of each day. The message can be shared with others, or dismissed after personal reflection.

When I was struggling with finding my way in the midst of all the “what ifs” and “maybes” in a life suddenly filled with young-onset Parkinson's disease and Colon cancer as I entered my 40s, a close friend asked me about what I would hold on for - what would make me fight? My answer was that I wanted to see all of my children graduate from high school. After some quick calculations, my friend determined there were roughly 3000 sunsets between now and then.

“How will you spend them?” she asked.

That simple question – and challenge – became the first step in this journey

Embracing the adventure and finding joy in the journey isn't automatic. It's a habit of mind and spirit developed over time. Each day at sunset, I pause and reflect on the day. The lessons it held. The joy I shared. The challenges I overcame. The things I am grateful for.
