Belur, located in Karnataka, India, is a proposed UNESCO’s World Heritage Site. It was the initial capital of Hoysala empire that reigned in present-day Karnataka from 10th to 14th century. Today, it is best known for the magnificent Chennakesava temple, one of the finest and most significant monuments of Hoysala architecture.
